Humans are not capable of saying something and
staying by it forever. There is a Nigerian adage that says, “If one says his
father’s house masquerade would dance and then that same person comes out to
say the masquerade won’t dance again, no man can arrest him.” However, Jesus
said in Matt 24:35 that, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall
not pass away.” Jesus said in Matt 5:18 that, “For verily I say unto you, Till
heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law
(the Word of God), till all be fulfilled.”
Personally, I have discovered (not that someone told
me) that to understand the past, present and the future, go to the Word because
the Word is the same yesterday, today and forever. If only as believers, we
would get busy with the Word, most of the issues that we are busy battling
would be so cheap to resolve because the entrance of His word gives light and
Psalm 119:105 says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
Policies change, laws get amended, but the Word stands for life and the good
thing is that the Word is not for the benefit of angels, but for you and I to
know the things that have been freely given unto us.
The word of God stands sure no matter the situation.
The Word that says you shall be the head and not the tail hasn’t changed and it
won’t change. The Word that says greater is He that is in you than he that
dwells in the world can and will never change. The Word that says when you pay
your tithe, windows of heaven would be opened for you hasn’t and won’t change.
Isa 40:8 says, “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God
shall stand for ever.”
Jesus said, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My
word.” Get busy with the Word!
