One of the deadliest fear that limits people is the
fear of failure. No one wants fail, which is why many of us tend to take it
cool and not be the best at what we do. There are things that God has called
each and every one of us to do but when we think about, “what if,” then we tend
to postpone or in most cases look for a cheap alternative which is why many
giants are still walking ants.
When God called Moses to send him to Pharaoh, Moses
said, “God, I am not the perfect candidate for this job because I cannot talk
very well,” God said, “Don’t worry, I made the mouth, I will help you.” The underlying
factor that made Moses give God several excuses was fear of failure which
eventually came out in Exo 4:1, when he said, “What if they don’t believe me?
What if they don’t accept me? What if they say You have not sent me?” Moses had
lot of “what ifs” just because he doesn’t want to appear a public failure
figure.
Anyone who has that fear of failure would find it
hard to fulfil his/her destiny because he/she is always scared of doing what
he/she has being called to do. They always give excuses for why they are not
doing the needful, but you can overcome that fear because you have not received
the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption,
whereby we cry, Abba, Father (Rom 8:15).
Acts 4:13 says, “Now when they saw the boldness of
Peter (the one that denied Jesus out of fear) and John, and perceived that they
were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of
them, that they had been with Jesus.” The first step towards overcoming that
fear of failure is knowing and having a personal relationship with Jesus,
because it is only the people that do know their God that shall be strong, and
do exploits.
Fear not!
