FRUITFULNESS

September 5, 2014

Fruitfulness means fertile, productive and profitable. I have never met anyone that doesn’t desire fruitfulness. The businessman would tell you, “I don’t run a charity organization, I need to make profit.” Many employers lay off some of their employees because they see them as unproductive. Fruitfulness brings joy and fulfillment while fruitlessness brings sorrow, pain and shame.

In the parable of the talent in Matt 25, Bible says the one that got five talents doubled it making ten. Likewise the one that got two talents, he had made two more talents before his master came back. The master was very impressed because it was a profitable bargain for him. However, the one that received one talent went and hid it in the earth. When the master heard that, he became furious and immediately christened him slothful and wicked, in order words the unproductive believer is a wicked person. The master expected some returns on his investment even if it was just bank savings interest.

You are God’s investment and He is expecting fruits from you every time. God said in Gen 1:28 that, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” In order words, go forth and bear fruits. However, without a genuine relationship with your creator you cannot understand what you were created to do because He is the vine, we are the branches and he that abideth in Him, and He in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Him we can do nothing (John 15:5). Until Saul became Paul, he was bearing evil fruits.

Your struggles and hustles would yield little or no fruit/profit without a connection to your creator because it only those that do know (connected to) their God that shall be strong and shall do exploits. Peter toiled all night without no catch but the day he encountered Jesus, he broke through.

Be wise!
