The human
nature tend to want everything right now. I call it a microwave or noodles
generation. We are always in a hurry. When we pray to God, we want answers to
our prayers like yesterday. This attitude has so much eaten deep into many of
us that when we experience little delay in any areas of our life, we become
frustrated, depressed and many a time we end up concluding wrongfully that God
is not omnipotent as some people say.
The truth about life is that there is an appointed
time for everything under heaven. The word of God in Hab 2:3 says, “For the
vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not
lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not
tarry.” God has an appointed time for everything under heaven and many times,
His timing is different from that of men and as said 2 Pet 3:8 that one day is
with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
That goes to
tell you that no matter how badly we want it sooner, we say we want it “like
yesterday”, that doesn’t change God’s timetable for that which you want. This
understanding is needed to help us live a stress-free life because it takes
understanding to live an outstanding life. There is always a waiting time for
the actualization of our dreams which is what freaks many of us out.
However, I
have realized that if one has to wait anyway, the wisest thing to do is to
enjoy the waiting period. If the check-in time for a flight is 7:30pm, if you
like, get to the airport 2:00pm, check-in won’t happen when you want it, it
would happen when the airline wants it. Sir, the truth is that no matter how
late you think God is, He is always right on time. He created you and as such,
He knows what you need when you need them.
Be patient!
