We all have things that we want to achieve in our
lives — getting into the better shape, building a successful business, raising
a wonderful family, writing a best-selling book, winning a championship, and so
on. And for most of us, the path to those things starts by setting a specific
and actionable goal. Without a goal, you are going nowhere, because if you
don’t know where you are going to, everywhere seems like there.
You would remember that the first thing those people
that wanted to build the tower of Babel in Gen 11 said was, “"Come, let us
build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we
may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of
the whole earth." Luke 14:28 says, “Suppose one of you wants to build a
tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough
money to complete it?”
Goal setting would really go a long way in helping
you enjoy the best God has to offer. Don’t just live life the way it comes, set
goals, and most importantly make sure your goals are SMART; Specific,
Measurable, Actionable, Realistic and Timely. Commit your goals into God’s
hands and never forget the word from the good book that says, ‘write the vision
down, and make it plane upon tables, that he may run that reads it.”
Your journey becomes smooth when it is
goal-oriented.
