Someone said, ‘show me your friends and I will tell
you where you are headed.’ The Bible says two cannot walk together except they
have an agreement. You must be willing to land in Paris before boarding the
plane going there. Your choice of friends is an indication of your future,
because a companion of fools shall be destroyed. (Prov 13:20) Amnon’s live got
shortened because he listened to the evil counsel of his friend Jonadab to
sleep with his sister. (2 Sam 13)
If you are the smartest among your friends, bro/sis,
change them, else mediocrity becomes an acceptable lifestyle. You must surround
yourself with people who would challenge you to become the best in life. You
must also surround yourself with people who would help build your faith. Psa
1:1 says, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”
Another person said, ‘Your network determines your
networth.’ You need to consciously build, nurture and maintain worthwhile
relationship, because who you know to a large extent determines what you know.
Most importantly, make the Holy Spirit your best friend because He knows all.
Stay lifted!
