With my little experience in driving, one recipe for
quick death is driving in the forward direction and looking at the rear mirror.
Many people have their eyes fixed on Jesus but occasionally they shift their
focus to a man, forgetting that the scripture says in Psa 34:5 that, “They
looked unto him, and were lightened:
and their faces were not ashamed.”
In Matt 14, when Jesus told Apostle Peter to come to
him while walking on water, it was very easy for the timid apostle to also set
the record of being the first and only human to walk on water. However, the
moment he took his eyes off Jesus in verse 30 by looking at the wind, he was
afraid and he began to sink. David however never saw Goliath, but his eyes was
fixed on God and he wasn’t disappointed.
The moment we take our eyes off Jesus, situations
and challenges of life will begin to sink us. I therefore urge you to stay
focused on Jesus no matter what you are going through because He is the only
One that can sort you out.
Don’t get distracted!
