A certain
tourist went for a boat cruise with his wife. It was a local boat cruise in a wooden
boat; they had no swimming experience but just wanted to do something out of
the ordinary. In the middle of the sea, a great storm arose, lifted the boat up
and threw the commuters into the deep sea. The captain could swim, but had to
decide on who to rescue. After a careful though, he decided to rescue the
woman.
The man found
himself drowning, gulping in water in liters. He knew it was just a matter of
time before life went out of him. With no swimming experience, life jacket or
whatever; the man decided he didn’t deserve to die that way, so he swam out
anyhow. When he got out and was finally stabilized, he was asked how he did it.
“I just had to decide whether I wanted to die like that or give life another shot.”
What do you
do when life throws you out of the boat? What do you do when all falls apart?
What do you do when failure seems like your birthright? What do you do when
your wallet, ATM card, check book, withdrawal slip all become decorating
artifacts? What do you do when all hope seem lost? What do you do when you
cannot point at one thing you have achieved this year? What do you do?
Brother Paul
said in Phil 3:13-14 that, “but this one thing I do, forgetting those things
which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I
press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ
Jesus.” It doesn’t what card life dealt you, sir, play on. It doesn’t matter
where you have found yourself, ma, please don’t stop moving, keep on going on.
There is a
great, a colorful and a wonderful future ahead of you, so no matter what you
are going through, don’t stay down, keep your head up and forge ahead.
