MINDSET REPAIR

November 16, 2013

The story is told of a man who went fishing every evening.  Every time he caught a big fish, he threw it back into the water. Every little fish he caught went into his bag. Another big fish, and he threw back into the water; a tiny little one, into his bag it went. This kept going on and on for a while.

An old man who had been watching him and was very perplexed by his unorthodox manner of fishing asked, “Can you please explain to me why you keep throwing the big ones back into the river?” The fisherman did not hesitate, he said “I only have an eight-inch frying pan and anything bigger than eight inches does not fit my pan!” What a myopic man? Why not catch the big ones, cut into halves and fry.

Jesus asked the man with infirmity for thirty eight years who was by the pool of Bethesda, "Wilt thou be made whole?” The little minded man said in John 5:7, “Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.” Why not just say yes?

Some of our minds need repair. Sir, there are great things ahead, but the only way we can take delivery of them is to see the best and claim the best. Ten men went to spy the land of Canaan; eight came back with evil report while the remaining two who understood that every achievement is first conceived in the mind came back to say though the land had giants in it, they could still take over.

Sir/ma, you are where you are today because of your thoughts, change your thoughts and your life would change for the best. That it has always been done one way doesn’t mean it cannot be done another way. That it has never been done doesn’t mean it can’t be done. Receive empowerment to think through in Jesus Name. Amen!
