On his way to
work and back home every day, a certain young man would always have to run on
sighting one hefty dirty dangerous looking dog. The dog barks and chases almost
everyone walking past that house. One day, the guy could not hold it again and
talked to one of his colleague at work about it. “Dogs don’t chase people who
aren’t running away from them,” was the advice the guy gave him.
The following
morning, the dog starts barking and chasing the guy, at first, he wanted to
wait but his heart failed him, so he started running, but at a point, he
stopped and faced the dog. The dog stopped also and on opening its mouth, the
guy discovered the dog had no teeth.
Someone said
fear is an acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real. In order words, there is
nothing to be feared asides fear itself. At the mention of the name of Goliath,
the Israelites feared. But there was a certain young man by the name David, who
knew that until you look your fears in the eyes, you won’t ever break free. He
told king Saul, “a lion and a bear attacked my flock, I was afraid, but I let
go of my fear and I was able to kill them, so this uncircumcised little giant
is going to be a piece of cake for me.” And so was it.
Confront your
fears. Don’t let the devil kill you before you die. Rom 8:15 says, “For ye have
not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the
Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” The devil will keep
tormenting you as long as he knows you entertain fear in your heart. Don’t get
me wrong, sometimes, fear would come, but all the times, remember that God hath
not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound
mind.
Have a
refreshing time in His presence.
