In Thailand,
I read that elephants from nearby jungles are captured and tamed. An iron band
at the end of a heavy chain is secured around each elephant’s foot and the
elephant is chained to a large tree. The elephant lifts its legs and pulls,
trying with all his might to break the chain or uproot the tree, but nothing
ever happens. The elephant tries day after day, until it finally gives up. The
powerful animal lifts its legs and feeling just a slight tension, places its
foot back on the ground in total submission.
At this
stage, the elephant is trapped and has finally lost its freedom. However, Thai
people would then take the elephant to work and would tie it to a small stake,
sometimes only to the reed of a flower and because the elephant has had it
registered in its subconscious that it was being tied to a large tree still, it
refused to bother breaking free even though with a slight effort he could
easily break the chain and run free. The elephant is trapped because he
believes he can never break free.
Prov 23:7
says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” The reason why many people
are still on the same spot is because of their various beliefs. Rom 12:2 says, “be
ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Until you sanitize your mind,
your life would remain the same. Purge out old and negative beliefs and be
aware that eyes have not seen and ears not heard what the Lord has in stock for
you. There is no limit to how far you can go in life.
You can break
free from addictions; you can break free from poverty; you can break free from
failure; it all starts from your mind. Mind your mind. It is the bank where you
make your life withdrawals. Remember – AS HE THINKS, SO IS HE.
