DEATH AND LIFE

November 10, 2013

Everything a man gets from God is a product of the man’s choice. In Deut 30:19, Bible says “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.” Every choice a man makes affect not just the man but generations yet unborn.

Remember what Jesus said in John 10:10 that, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” God’s plan for our lives is life abundantly, however, the handiwork and thoughts of the heart of some of us is an open invitation to death and destruction.

In Daniel 4, King Nebuchadnezzar’s pride turned him from a king to an animal. Bible says that the king was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws. He became a living dead.

In Acts 5, Ananias and Sapphira enjoyed speedy death because they lied. In 1Kings 11, Bible says that king Solomon loved many strange women, and turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father. As a result of that the LORD stirred up an adversary unto Solomon (1Kings 11:14).

Rom 8:6 says, “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” To enjoy life, you must be a lover of righteousness. Most of the people that ended badly in the scripture were people who cherished sin more than holiness. Sin kills, while righteousness brings life. Repent, restitute and you shall be restored.
