Uncommon speed is the ability to outrun the
“unoutrunable” (pardon my grammar). It is the ability to go faster than your
imagination or comprehension.
Uncommon
speed puts you ahead of others. Abuja from Lagos by plane is a matter of
minutes, while by road is like 8 or 9 hours. Have you ever looked at a
colleague of yours and wonder, how is he/she doing it? How come he/she gets
things faster than I do?
However, it is worthy of note that, speed in life is not a product of
your academic prowess; there are professors who are still backbenchers and
nobodies. Also, speed is not a product of your strength; it is by grace.
1Kings18:46
Then the hand of the Lord was on Elijah, and he girded up his loins and outran
Ahab to Jezreel.
Ecc 9:11 says I returned, and saw under the sun, that
the race is not to the swift, nor the
battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of
understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to
them all.
Rom 9:16 says So
then it is not of him that willeth, nor
of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
Elijah would have ordinarily been unable to
outrun a dog, but the moment the hand of God was upon him, he was so strengthened by
God’s spirit that he ran faster than the chariot. Wow! What a run! I am not
even sure Usain Bolt could break this record.
Bury yourself in that divine flow of grace for speed in life and while
your mates are walking, you are already running. While they are running, you
are already flying. The moment they start flying, you would have been soaring.
The secret to gaining this uncommon speed is staying under the shadow
of the Almighty.
My prayer for someone is that the hand of our God shall be so mighty
upon you that by the end of this year, you shall outrun your mates and even
those that seem to have gone ahead of you in Jesus Name. Amen!
