PLAY YOUR PART

                                                    January 4, 2013

There is a particular story in the book of John Chapter 11 that the only thing I see there is the miracle that was performed. I am talking about the story of the death of Lazarus and how Jesus brought him back to life. However, I have come to see that there are other important lessons from that story. One of which we are treating today.

In vs. 39 of that chapter, Jesus said “Take away the stone”. In order words, Jesus was saying if you would take away the stone, I will bring Lazarus back to life. Jesus could have said “thou stone, roll away” but He chose not to, just let us know that no matter how fertile the ground is, if you won’t plant on it, you won’t harvest anything no matter how big your faith is.

For your heart desires to be released, there is a part you need to play. If you will play your part, God will play His. The woman with the issue of blood could have remained like that for years had she not touch the hem of Jesus’ garment.

If you will do the natural, God will do the supernatural. If you will do the ordinary, God will do the extraordinary. The most certain thing is that GOD WILL PLAY HIS PART, the only question is how well are you playing yours?

In Deut. 28, we are made to understand that God’s blessings are conditional. If you will do what you CAN, God will do what you CAN’T. God will not do for you what you can do for yourself.
It is your job to submit that CV or proposal, it’s God’s job to grant you favor.

Small exercise: What is that one thing that you need God to do for you this month? What are the things you know you have to do to make that one thing come to pass this month? Write them down and act on them. It is your job to make that call to a potential client; it is God’s job to touch the heart of the client for your sake. It is your job to be punctual and diligent at work, it is God’s responsibility to promote you.

As you start acting in line with your heart desires, God will speedily grant them to you.
