THAT WONDERFUL NAME

I heard of a testimony by Pastor E.A. Adeboye years ago when he was still driving Volkswagen beetle. He said he was approaching a narrow bridge and his car came face to face with a trailer. He said that the wife was shouting the name of Jesus. He also said that all that came out of his mouth was Jesus save us.

Pastor Adeboye said that the next thing he saw was that his car had crossed the bridge, so also the trailer. How? Maybe there was an expansion of the bridge or maybe the car or the trailer flew, only Jesus can tell. All Daddy G.O knew was, Jesus saved him and his wife.

In the book of Mark chapter 10, when Jesus entered Jericho, multitudes followed him; some with headache; some with cancer; some with fibroid; some with skin rashes; some with hypertension; some were blind; some were dumb; some were just spectators.

The most amazing part of this story is that no other person was recorded to have received a miracle save blind Bartimaeus. How come? Blind Bartimaeus understood that God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.

No wonder the blind man kept shouting Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. Some of the multitudes were even asking the man to shut up. At the end of the day, he received a new sight.

There is power in the name of Jesus. Oh! How sweet would it be if we all understand this truth? The name of Jesus is loaded with all you may ever have need of. You need money? Jesus became poor so might be rich. You think that sickness is unto death? He died so you might live. Almost all the doctors have treated you, yet no healing; by His stripes you are healed.

There is something uniquely powerful about that name – Jesus. Satan hates it when you call the name Jesus. When you say Jesus, you are saying; “greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world”; “I can do all things through Christ my strength”; “I bear the mark of Christ, let no one trouble me”. Speak Jesus into that ugly situation and it will change for the best.

No matter the situation, call on the name of Jesus and I pray that as you do so, your testimonies will bring souls to the His kingdom in Jesus Name. Amen!
