A
lot of us go through life everyday complaining about one thing or the other. Not
enough money; dry weather; stubborn children; unloving husband; rude wife; low
paying job etc. one thing that I don’t have to be a prophet to know is that
there are one million and one things to complain about. As a matter of fact,
one thing you can never run out of is a reason to complain.
However,
I would like to think about this; you might not be where you want to be, you
are not where you used to be. You have enough reasons to give thanks to God.
One
way or the other, you have moved forward. You are better. Millions didn’t make
2013, but you are one of those who did. Just within the few days in this year,
some have died, some have lost their jobs, some have lost their loved ones etc.
Millions are in the hospital wishing they were dead, but you have all parts of
your body complete and working. Maybe you are complaining your mates are
wearing TM shirts while you are wearing “my brother dash me” ankara – oh! give
thanks, some are roaming the street naked.
The
attitude of thanking God today guarantees a better tomorrow.
Jesus
fed 5000 people with 5 loaves of bread and two fishes, how? He gave thanks for
the little and it became more than sufficient. They had 12 extra baskets of
food left. WOW! Few minutes before then, the disciples like each and every one
of us complained about the situation (these people are plenty ooo, send them
home ooo so they don’t die here ooo, we don’t have one bag of rice to cook for
them ooo, even the man that sells meat has closed oooooo, all we have is 5
loaves of bread and two fishes only ooooo), and then suddenly, because Jesus
gave thanks, little became much.
Give
thanks for the little you have and it will soon become much. Stop seeing what
God has not done; start seeing what He has done. Can you buy your life in the
market? Haba!
Count
your blessings and not your burdens.
Think
of 10 things God has done for you in 2013 and worship Him for being good unto
you.
