FAITH AND REALITY – 2

One of the things that faith in God and His word does is that it makes you sound crazy. Imagine someone without any idea of where the next meal will come from, shouting, my God shall supply all of my needs.

There was a story of a particular family in Liberia. During the hot Liberian war, this Christian family had nothing left to eat. As an act of faith, they placed empty plates on the dining table and covered them. They all went to the dining table and all sat down to bless the meal. A guest in that home would have thought “crazy family”. Suddenly they heard a very heavy knock on the door.

“Last empty supper” one of them might have thought. Lo and behold, it was the rebel fighters. They had their truck parked in front of the home of this family. To cut the long story short, they brought different food items, cooking gas, drinks and bathing soap for this family.

“You are now our official cook and maid” said the rebel leader. That was how God sustained this family throughout the time of the war.

I am pretty sure that the family would have taken a step further to start eating from the empty plate, had the rebel fighters not come.

In Matthew 14, Jesus’ disciples showed this same act of faith when Jesus gave them five loaves of bread and two fishes and asked them to share among five thousand men (women and children not counted). Realistically, it is impossible but “faithically” it is possible.

All things are possible to him that believes.

One truth is that, God can NEVER fail. He is always on time. However, your act of faith triggers His help.

My prayer for you this day is that, even your little act of faith in God will yield massive results in Jesus Name. Amen!
