In a corporate setting, any request any of the
management staff have, would most likely be taken to the management meeting
where they would all deliberate over it and then agree as to what to do about
it. Same way a child would go to his/her father and show him the academic bill
for the new term/semester, so that the man can make arrangements for how to
make the payment. We all have someone somewhere that we always table our needs
before, unfortunately, majority of us go to mortal men who also need help.
In Isa 36, a certain man named Rabshakeh started
threatening Hezekiah and his people. He went further to say that not even God
can save Jerusalem from the attack of the king of Assyria. This report was a
bad one for Hezekiah and his people, to make matters worse, another letter was
sent to Hezekiah that, “Let not thy God, in whom thou trustest, deceive thee,
saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.”
Many times this is what the devil does. “Do you think your God can pay this
huge debt?” “Do you think your God can heal this kind of disease?” “Don’t you
think this problem is too big for your God to handle?”
However, Bible says in Isa 37:15 that, “And Hezekiah
prayed unto the LORD,” and the Bible says in verse 36 that, “The Angel of the
Lord struck the Assyrian camp and 185,000 died. By the time the day broke, they
were all dead. Even Sennacherib the king of Assyria who thought he had escaped
was killed by his own sons. 2 Chron 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called
by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from
their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land.”
However hard that situation is, take it to God in
prayer!
