Faith is a supernatural virtue which disposes our
natural intelligence and makes the journey of life interesting. I understand it
is easy to live by faith when all things are going well; when the bills are
paid on time; when the car is running well; when there are no crises, however,
what happens when the going gets tough; when the month is just beginning and
all accounts are red with no sight of any income coming in anytime soon; when
suddenly a loved one is taken away from us. I mean times when our faith is
tested.
Heb 10:38a says, “Now the just shall live by faith.”
The people of the world live by sight, but the just shall live by faith. In
order words, even though there is no physical sight of help coming my way, I am
so certain that God is cooking up something for me because I am living by
faith. Bible even says in Rom 14:23b that, “for whatsoever is not of faith is
sin.”
One example of someone who lived by faith was
Prophet Elijah who never was told to go hide by the brook Cherith. He could
have asked God how would a raven bring food considering the size of the raven, but because he was a man
living by faith every moment of his life, it became quite easy for him to trust
God despite the fact that it didn’t make sense.
Sir/ma, God will make a way where there seems to be
no way, but it takes faith to walk the way. Living by faith is a command that
we all must abide with if we truly want to enjoy the best of God because Heb
11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that
cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek him.”
Always remember that the currency of heaven is
faith. Enjoy!
