There is a particular story in the book of 2Kings 1
that is very interesting. King Ahaziah sent messengers to inquire of the god of
the land whether he was going to recover from a certain disease. On their way,
the messengers encountered a man that told them that the king was going to die.
The messengers immediately turned back to tell the
king of what they just heard. In verse 7-8, the king asked, “What manner of man
was he which came up to meet you, and told you these words? And they answered
him, He was a hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins.”
Immediately the king said, “It is Elijah the Tishbite.” There were other
prophets in the land, but none had the same combo like Elijah.
Many of us feel insecure and inadequate because we
lack one thing or the other, however, I have come to realize that since the
beginning of time, no ONE is like YOU! No one who has ever lived or is to come
has had your combination of abilities, talents, appearance, friends,
acquaintances, burdens, sorrows and opportunities.
A friend of mine, Bill Gate by name once said, “Don't
compare yourself with anyone in this world...if you do so, you are insulting
yourself.” A fish would only be ridiculing herself by comparing herself
with an eagle. Your person is like that because it is what would soothe your
purpose in life. Your color is not to be a disadvantage. Your disability is
meant to be ability. Nick Vujicic is thankful to have been born 30 years ago
with no arms and no legs. His limbless state has made him unique.
YOU ARE UNIQUE! YOU ARE NOT COMMON. YOU ARE
PRICELESS. YOUR ARE FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE. YOU ARE NOT A CHEAP
COMMODITY. YOU ARE NOT JUST ANYONE, YOU ARE YOU. YOU ARE AN EXPRESS IMAGE OF
GOD. CHERISH THAT. CELEBRATE YOURSELF BECAUSE YOU ARE ROYALTY IN PERSON.
