Our beliefs have tremendous power and influence in
our lives. I tell people that we don’t always get what we deserve in life, but
we usually get no more than we expect. The thing about this force of belief is
that it works in the positive as it does in the negative as well. I understand
that it could be hard to believe God for the best especially considering the
situation of things in the world, but as a believer in Christ, you can believe
God for the best.
In Matt 9:27, there were two blind men who heard
that Jesus was in town. Immediately, their faith level rose and they must have
thought, “Now that Jesus is around, He can make us see.” So they started following
Jesus and shouting, “Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.” At a point, Jesus
had to stop because of their cries. For a user of this devotional, your cry for
help will get the attention of Jesus today and He will sort you out.
In verse 28, Jesus said unto them, “Believe ye that
I am able to do this?” Jesus knew what those guys wanted, but He wanted to be
sure they had the right level of faith, because whatever you don’t believe, you
can never receive. The blind men answered with some great confidence and swag,
“Yea, Lord.” When Jesus heard this, He only touched their eyes and said, “Be it
unto you, according to your faith.”
If Jesus should say to you, “Be it unto you
according to your faith,” what do you think you will get? Be careful what you
believe. God is a present help in the times of trouble but you must do your
part. God is set to do great and mighty things for you but it is all up to you.
Believe God for the best. Believe Him for promotion. Believe Him for favor.
Always remember that your faith is a product of your
belief system.
