Patience and persistence are virtues that are
somewhat hard to find among believers these days. We want every our desires
like yesterday, as such, any delay is an opportunity for us to find another way
of getting it done. Some of us give God ultimatum, “Lord, if you don’t do it
before tomorrow, I will look for another way of getting it done.” When dealing
with God, we must be patiently persistent because God’s ways are higher than
our ways and His timings quite different from ours but ultimately the best.
Hannah needed a child but it seemed God was on sabbatical
concerning her case. In 1 Sam 1:7, Bible says she was always going to the house
of the Lord year by year just to tender her one and only request but nothing
happened. This was enough for her to say, “I am tired, God is no more on the
throne, let me go talk to sorcerers and magicians maybe they can help,” but she
didn’t, instead, she kept holding on to God and finally God answered her.
What is it that you have been asking God to make
happen for you all these while, but it looks like, it is hard for God to do?
Listen to me, Jer 32:17 says there is nothing too hard for God to do. How can
the One that made the heaven, the earth, you and I and all that dwells here on
planet earth have difficulty in making something come to pass? “Impossicant!”
Stop looking for another option, hold on tight to
Jesus. In Gen 32, when Jacob wrestled with an angel, at a point his thigh got
injured, and ordinarily that was enough for him to say, “I give up,” but he
said, “I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.” As a result of that day’s
encounter, his name was changed. I don’t
care how tough it has been, be patient a little more because you are next in
line for a miracle.
Shalom!
