GODLY CONDUCT

December 31, 2014

It is a taboo for a king to be seen behaving like a slave. The moment a king starts conducting himself like a slave, then there is a problem. The difference between a child of God and other people is Godly conduct. Godly conduct includes our thoughts, words, actions and reactions. You cannot convince me you are believer when you are always seen fighting with bus conductors. There are some things we need to pay attention to in order to conduct ourselves in a Godly manner.

One of it is Godly thoughts. Job 3:25 says, “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.” You need to know that God honors your thoughts. Whatever you are thinking of is what you are looking for, because as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Mind your thoughts, they determine your destiny. Brother Paul said in Phil 4:8 that, “Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Another thing you need to pay attention to is your speech. Careless utterances opens the door to a careless destiny. Prov 15:2 says, “The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.” You don’t just talk anyhow because you know that according to Prov 18:21 that says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” There are some words that you can’t just afford to say. They become ‘unsayable’ for you because you know when people hear you say such, it is against your belief.

To live a glorious life, Godly conduct is essential, because your purity determines your dignity.

SECURING DIVINE HELP

December 30, 2014

One of the easiest ways to live a life full of testimonies is when help is available unto you. Someone said someone has to help someone in order to climb. Life becomes so cheap and simple when help is always available unto you. If your father is always ready to give you anything, I am sure you won’t have to start worrying yourself where to go should you need anything. However, I have discovered that no matter how great man’s help is, you never compare it with the help of God.

As a matter of truth, man can only help you when God has ordained it. A Yoruba parlance says, “That you and the president are from the same parents doesn’t mean he will help you, only the person that God said should help would.” That tells us that there is no great man anywhere, there are only helped men out there. The only great Person is God, because He is an Helper that needs no help. One of the ways to secure God’s help is by physically reporting at the throne of grace – the abode of Jehovah! Heb 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

Wondering how to get to the throne of grace? Praise is the master key to access the throne of grace, ‘cos by strength shall no man prevail. Psa 100:4 says, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” Praise is not what we sing, but what we use. Prayer without praise is protest. Phil 4:6 says, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Always know that the man that is praiseful is never helpless, because praise secures the presence of God, and with God’s presence comes glory, honor and help.

Stay blessed.

GOD HASN’T FINISHED WITH YOU YET

December 29, 2014

When people have someone lying in the hospital theatre going through surgery, whether the procedure lasts for ten hours or twenty four hours, they keep waiting since the surgeons aren’t done yet. I have a word for someone today that even as we are getting closer to the end of 2014, I’d like you to know that God hasn’t finished with you yet.

Sometimes we feel there really isn’t any future again. We look back at the mistakes we have made and then we conclude that it’s all over – ‘God is done with me.’ Sometimes we feel our greatest days are behind us and as such we start living life as it comes hoping that maybe someday, things will get better. But let me assure you this morning that your happiest days, greatest days, lie ahead. I guarantee you that!

Jonah must have thought God was done with him when the fish swallowed him after he had successfully disobeyed God, but he didn’t know that God was using all of that to shape him up for what was ahead. I don’t know what you are going through, but I’d like to let you know that your case file is still before God – it isn’t closed yet. God is still working on your matter. Jacob felt bad when he heard that Joseph was dead. At that point he must have been the most miserable man in Israel.

However, one day, another news came that the dead boy was now alive. Maybe your business died sometimes ago, or that dream of yours has since been buried, or the doctor has said your case has no remedy, listen, I stand upon the word of God this morning to proclaim to you that there is hope for a tree that if it be cut down, it shall sprout again. Sir/ma, you are still in the race. Your best is yet to come. Don’t dare give up.

Keep on holding on!

YOUR CASE IS SIMPLE

December 28, 2014

Some years back, someone brought a case of appendicitis to my grandmother, and I heard her telling the person that it is a major surgical procedure. She said she couldn’t handle it in her own facility and had to refer the patient to the teaching hospital. Recently, I heard Ben Carson talking and he practically said most neurosurgical procedures are major, ‘cos there is a possibility the patient might not come out ‘better’. But, I now went to study about God to see if there is any case that was or is too major for Him, and I discovered that all cases before Him are minor.

That is why Jesus said in Mark 10:27b that, “With God all things are possible.” I don’t know what your own case is, but I know for sure that God Almighty CAN fix it. A particular woman had a case of prolonged menstruation for almost twelve years. She started stinking and people would naturally avoid having anything to do with her. The woman went from one doctor to another, from one specialist hospital to another, yet her case grew worse. However when she had an encounter with Jesus, she got her healing on the spot, just by touching the hem of Jesus’ garment. (Matt 9:20-22)

I just want to encourage you to put your hope in God. Your case is too cheap to give God sleepless time. Don’t forget He raised the dead even after four days, parted the sea, brought water from the rock, used raven to feed human, used the belly of a fish to store money, healed terrible sicknesses and a whole lot more. Your uncle CANNOT help you, if he could, why are you still jobless? Sir/ma, your case is too hard for your aunt to crack, but too cheap for God to solve. Stay focused and stay hopeful, Psalm 34:5 says, “They looked unto Him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.”

Remain blessed!

OVERCOMING SELF-PITY

December 27, 2014

If there is one thing you don’t get trained or qualified to do, it is self-pity. No exam is needed to become a professional at it. To some of us, self-pity is as natural as a seeing a fish doing swimming stunts in the ocean. Self-pity means feeling sorry for oneself. Most times, it always seems right and justifiable, but in the end, it does more harm than good, which is why if you don’t overcome it, it overcomes you and gets you limited.

In John 5, the Pool of Bethesda was known for healing miracles whenever the angel stirred the waters, the first person to enter the water would get healed. But a man was there for 38 solid years without having the opportunity to step into the waters. Even when the Master Healer got there and asked if the man was ready to be healed, his response was, “Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.” Jesus just had mercy and said, “Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.”

The devil is always in love with people who engage in self-pity because once you engage in it, you are no threat to him again. Engaging in self-pity makes you unable to pray and also turns you to a man/woman of no faith, because the time you are to spend praying, you spend it singing songs of pity. It also blinds your eyes to other solutions around. The man at the pool was face to face with Jesus and yet was complaining of how incapacitated he was. That tells us that engaging in self-pity solves nothing, it even compounds one’s issue. The more you pity yourself, the more you are cheating yourself by giving God no opportunity to help.

Stop pitying yourself, you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people, so c’mon start celebrating your ingenuity.

Remain blessed.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

December 26, 2014

For every newly employed person in any organization, at a minimum, the person gets an ID card and an employment letter to authenticate his employment. James 2:26a says, “For as the body without the spirit is dead.” Christianity without the Holy Ghost is dead. As a matter of truth, redemption without the Holy Ghost ushers a believer into frustration. It could be likened to a man going to the ATM machine without an ATM card, let him pray fire down, the best he would get would be alms from people around.

The ministry of our Lord Jesus was so spectacular because the Holy Spirit helped Him. The Apostles were always in hiding, but the moment the Holy Spirit came upon them, they became as bold as lion. Without the Holy Spirit, we are helpless as believers. Jesus said in John 16:7 that, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.” Jesus has gone to the Father, and we are now in the dispensation in the Holy Spirit, so we have ready-made help available unto us.

The Holy Ghost is made available for all of us to live a glorious and colorful life. As a businessman, student, jobseeker or housewife, the Holy Spirit is available unto us to help us gain insights the ordinary mind cannot access. Through the Holy Spirit, you can access the things that are freely given unto us as believers by God, even the deep things of God for the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. You can know when a company is recruiting even if not publicly advertised when you engage the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Stop relying on your wisdom, you will be limited, rely totally on the Holy Spirit, He came to help you, put Him to use.

Happy Boxing Day!

UNUSUAL CHRISTMAS

December 25, 2014

Newton’s first law of motion says that when viewed in an inertial reference frame, an object either remains at rest or continues to move at a constant velocity, unless acted upon by an external force. You don’t wish a car ignites, you start it by yourself either by using the car key or pressing a button. As we celebrate Christmas today, the custom greeting is, ‘I wish you a merry Christmas.’ But like I have said times without number that if wishes were horses, beggars would also ride.

When that woman with the twelve years issue of blood in Matthew 9 said, “If I only touch His garment, I will get well,” she didn’t stop at the wish level, she took a step forward by touching, and immediately, she was made whole. This tells us that God doesn’t grant wishes, He grants desires. Therefore, I will not wish you a merry Christmas, but I pray you have a merry Christmas. May your all desires be granted in Jesus Name. Because Christ is the reason for this season, everything and anything you so desire is hereby released unto you in Jesus Name.

During and after this celebration, you will not sorrow in Jesus Name. This season will deliver to you your long overdue blessings in Jesus Name. However, the whole essence of Christmas is to celebrate Jesus, which means that without Jesus, there would be no Christmas. I am hereby imploring you to give your life to Jesus (if you have never done so before), or rededicate your life to God (should you have looked back in this Christian walk), and as you do so, your life will become an amazement to you, your family and even your enemies.

Don’t forget that Jesus came to take away the sins of the world, and no one goes to Him and remains the same. For all users of Daily Wisdom Nuggets, I say, enjoy the best of God this season!

Merry Christmas to you!

TABLE IT BEFORE GOD - 2

December 24, 2014

The person you table your case before determines the kind of response you would get, because our capacity to help differs as humans. When you table a request of ten thousand dollars before someone whose net worth is just some hundreds of dollars, you are assured your request can never be met. As believers, to avoid disappointment, we need to understand that God is the only one to turn to for help.

In Isa 38, Bible says, “In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.” A Yoruba parlance says, “There is nobody who would hear the day of his death and not be sad.” The king immediately knew that the best thing to do was to go to God in prayer. He prayed to God and in verses 4&5, “Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.”

If Hezekiah had tabled his request before prophet Isaiah, maybe he would never have gotten the additional fifteen years he got, but he went to God knowing full well that, with God nothing shall be impossible. Who you go to in times of distress and challenges determines what you come back with. In Matt 17, a certain man brought his lunatic son to Jesus and told him, “I already brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.” But when the case came before Jesus, it received immediate attention. Psa 121:1&2 says, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”

Man’s help is limited, but when God helps you, you become helpers of men. Receive divine help today in Jesus Name. Amen!

TABLE IT BEFORE GOD

December 23, 2014

In a corporate setting, any request any of the management staff have, would most likely be taken to the management meeting where they would all deliberate over it and then agree as to what to do about it. Same way a child would go to his/her father and show him the academic bill for the new term/semester, so that the man can make arrangements for how to make the payment. We all have someone somewhere that we always table our needs before, unfortunately, majority of us go to mortal men who also need help.

In Isa 36, a certain man named Rabshakeh started threatening Hezekiah and his people. He went further to say that not even God can save Jerusalem from the attack of the king of Assyria. This report was a bad one for Hezekiah and his people, to make matters worse, another letter was sent to Hezekiah that, “Let not thy God, in whom thou trustest, deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.” Many times this is what the devil does. “Do you think your God can pay this huge debt?” “Do you think your God can heal this kind of disease?” “Don’t you think this problem is too big for your God to handle?”

However, Bible says in Isa 37:15 that, “And Hezekiah prayed unto the LORD,” and the Bible says in verse 36 that, “The Angel of the Lord struck the Assyrian camp and 185,000 died. By the time the day broke, they were all dead. Even Sennacherib the king of Assyria who thought he had escaped was killed by his own sons. 2 Chron 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

However hard that situation is, take it to God in prayer!

LET IT GO

December 22, 2014

A very renowned minister of the gospel shared her story of how her father used to abuse her sexually. It was a very traumatic experience for her and this made her hate her father. The hurt and pain lingered for long until she met Christ and one way or the other, she had to let go. Today, that same abused woman is a vessel in the hands of God making waves all over the world, just because she decided to forgive her father and move on. I am talking about no other person that Joyce Meyer.

When Jacob robbed Esau of his blessing, Esau became very bitter. In Gen 27:41, Bible records it that he said, “The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.” To make matters worse, when Esau went to Isaac to ask, “Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father.” Isaac said, “And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother.” To console himself, Esau started nursing the thought of killing Jacob (Gen 27:42).

Do you have a problem forgiving others? Perhaps you just cannot forgive your father because he wasn’t there for you when you needed him most, and when you try to pray for him, you just switch off. Perhaps, someone mistreated you. Maybe someone you trusted with everything in you betrayed you. Yours could be that your superior never included you in his book of ‘my favorite subordinate’. You are so angry that you just want to see that person hurt, humiliated, disgraced or let down? I understand your concern, it is a global thing.

But do you know that as a believer, the mandate is for us to forgive others same way God forgives? Forgiving someone could be very, very hard – I know it, but disobedience gives you an automatic ticket and free visa to hell.

Prayerfully let go, reconcile & move on. God bless you!

LOWER YOUR SHOULDER

December 21, 2014

One of the most natural instincts of a man is pride. When a person is still struggling and trying to make ends meet, he/she becomes so meek and respectful, but the moment he/she gets some little coins, it takes the grace of God for that same person to maintain that attitude of respect. A Yoruba parlance says, “Until you have money, you haven’t really shown your own real behavior.” Humans are so funny that the moment their status changes a bit, their shoulder gets lifted as well. Most of us have forgotten that pride begets fall.

Moses went to Pharaoh to demand the release of the children of Israel to go and worship the Lord, he answered in Exo 5:2, “Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go.” When the Lord of host was done with him, he became a forgotten entity. Jer 50:31-32 says, “Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord GOD of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee. And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.”

I urge you, no matter what you have or the height you have gotten to, please be humble, because God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. I was amazed when I saw RCCG General Overseer, bending while shaking hands with his subordinates. So many believers with few ten millions find it hard to even greet their subordinates talkless their superiors. Prov 21:4 says, “An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.” “Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.” (Prov 16:5)

Repent and restitute today, tomorrow might be too late.

GOD HAS A GREATER PLAN FOR YOU

December 20, 2014

One of the most natural thing for humans to do is to think they have arrived after achieving a particular feat. When a man is trying to woo a woman, if he buys her like an expensive piece of jewelry and the woman keeps appreciating him, you would hear the man say something like, “What have I done? All I am waiting for is for you to just agree that you will marry me and your life will never remain the same again. I will spoil you with gifts and money and love.” Ordinarily, this would make the woman want to say, “Yes, I do,” on that spot, because she is assured that better stuffs are in stock for her.

As long as we remain in Christ, irrespective of the height you have gotten to today, God has a greater plan for you. Every child of God is a child of destiny. Gal 4:28 says, “Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.” We are not just any kind of children, we are promising, an envy to generations. 1 Cor 2:9 says, “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” The thoughts and plans of God for you are thoughts of greatness and not littleness because greater is your Maker than your circumstance.

However, 1 Cor 2:10 says, “But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” You will never know the plans of God for you if you are not His own. I can never know what Obama is planning to do in 2015 unless he tells me. The housemaid gets excused whenever the family meeting is going on. Redemption is what authorizes you to know the great plan God has for you and also empowers you to achieve that greatness.

Be saved!

WORK IT

December 19, 2014

In an arithmetic class, irrespective of how cheap or how hard the question is, you have to work it on paper to show how you arrived at your own answer. You cannot just write the equation and answer, I am sure no examiner would ever score such as good. A farmer whose farmland is so rich must till the ground, plant the crop and regularly weed off unwanted plants if truly he wants to enjoy the harvest he has labored for. Even if you drive a keyless car, you still have to do something before the car starts.

Most believers are dreamers, but hardly are we workers. Many of us have so many beautiful and colorful dreams, some have them written down, but many of us never go beyond the point of either dreaming it or writing it down. No matter how colorful your dream is, you must work it out. In John 5, Jesus healed a certain man of impotency, and this vexed the Jews. Jesus answered them, “My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.” Jesus wasn’t ready to lazy around in the name of Sabbath, his philosophy was, “If there is work to be done, let’s get to work!”

Many are still at the point of saying it. “I will do this, I want to do that.” Some of us have been saying stuffs like this for years and yet haven’t done anything. Pro 14:23 says, “In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.” You have talked about what you want to do enough, please get to work. Let me shock you, if you refuse to work it, another person in your line of career or business will do, and then you will end up regretting failure to work your plans. Stop snail driving about what you want to do, get to work now! You will be dazed someone is also thinking of doing the same thing you are planning to do.

Be wise!

REDEMPTION ENTHRONES

December 18, 2014

For anyone who happens to come from the royal lineage, there is every possibility for him to become a king. The moment the person marries, the wife also gets the opportunity of becoming a queen. When they start giving birth, the chain keeps going on and on and on. If all members of the royal family are to be given a car each, irrespective of the age, they will all get a car because it is their right. If a one year old prince calls a forty year old slave, he answers with same energy he would answer the father. If a king adopts a child as his own, do you think, the child would be treated as a slave or as an heir to the throne? Heir of course!

I won’t be flattering you if I call you, “king Samuel.” The reason being that bible says God created us in His own image and as believers, we are of the lineage of the King of kings. However, what gives us the opportunity to become a member of the ruling family on earth is redemption. Redemption is the initiation of a believer into the family of Christ. The moment you confess your sins, repent of them, restitute and forsake them, you get registered a king in the lineage of the King of kings. Rom 11:17 says, “And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree.”

Gal 3:29 says, “And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Wow! In other words, the moment you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you automatically become a seed of Abraham and heir to the promise that God gave him in Gen 17:6 – “And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.”

Be wise!

WEAPON OF FAITH

December 17, 2014

When going to war, there are various kinds of weapons. Some would go with guns, some with swords, some with arrows, some with cutlasses, some with grenades and some with knives. In all, the whole essence is to see to it that they win the battle anyhow. The scripture says as believers, “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places,” (Eph 6:12). But one of the most dangerous but rarely used weapon a believer has is faith.

Heb 11:33-35a says, “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again.” The scripture says that with faith, we can tell mountains to shift and they will. Luke 1:45 says, “And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.”

A man of faith is an unstoppable man. With just very little faith, Apostle Peter was able to walk on the waters for some few moment. David told Saul, “Sir, I am cocksure my God will bring down Goliath through me.” The three Hebrew boys said, “We are over-sure that our God will deliver us.” Faith is knowing that naturally it might not make sense or impossible, but soon it will make sense. This is why it is very important that as believers, the word of God must ever be before us day and night so we can make our ways prosperous and have good success, because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

The more of Jesus you know, the more your faith grows, the more like Him you become, and the greater the works you do.

Keep soaring!

EXCELLENT SPIRIT

December 16, 2014

Going by the school’s grading system, there is ‘poor’, ‘average’, ‘good’, and ‘very good’. But there is one more which is, ‘excellent’. When you score 100% in school, you hear “Excellent!” meaning you are over brilliant. When a man has an excellent spirit in him, it causes him to excel cheaply no matter where you put him. It is just like a mathematics genius, take him to Afghanistan to do his mathematics final examination, he will excel. An excellent spirit is a supernatural ability to intelligently decipher situations, come up with solutions and then solve the problem.

Through the anointing of an excellent spirit upon Daniel, he became the go-to man of that time. Dan 5:12 says, “Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation.” Because of the excellent spirit, kings were always requesting for his assistance. Also, Jesus had ready-made answers to every question the Jews asked Him.

Luke 2:47 says, “And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.” Jesus was answering their questions without wasting time. As they were asking, He was answering because an excellent spirit was upon Him. Joseph also had the excellent spirit upon him, which was why it became a cheap thing for him to proffer solution to a royal problem which I turn turned him to a benefactor of royalty. We all have challenges, but those who know what to do appear as if they’ve got no problems at all.

Get to work right now, study to show thyself approved. Study the word of God, study more about your career, study more about your business, and study more about life. If you don’t know more than others, you may never have more than they have.

Be wise!

I KNOW THE TRUTH

December 15, 2014

When you know the truth of a matter, it becomes hard for people to bamboozle you. The man that knows the truth is a powerful man. In crime movies, anyone who knows the truth about a particular case becomes a target for the enemies just so they could take him out to preserve the truth from getting revealed. As believers, one of our weapons of warfare is knowing the truth. That popular scripture in John 8:32 says, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

I am so sure I know my real father, it then becomes impossible for any prophet to tell me otherwise. I am sure you have heard the slang, “I know it like the back of my hand.” Friends, the knowledge of the truth of who you are and what is available to you especially in Christ empowers you to trample upon snakes and serpents. One of such truth is found in Rev 5:10, where the Bible says, “And hast made us unto our God KINGS AND PRIESTS: and we shall reign on the earth.”

Situations and circumstances are not to reign over you. You were created to have dominion over the fish, the birds, the cattle, the earth and everything that creepeth on the earth (Gen 1:26). The truth empowers you to obtain your inheritance in Christ. Stop telling me that the weather is the reason why you are always having cold and catarrh and malaria and typhoid, NO! I know beyond that because by the stripes of Jesus, we are healed, so the truth is sickness is only permitted if Jesus wasn’t beaten.

Poverty is only permitted if Jesus didn’t become poor so that you and I might become rich, through the poverty of Jesus. Untimely death is only allowed if Jesus didn’t die that you and I might live. Stop fidgeting under situations, get hold of the truth and you will continually live a triumphant life.

Keep shining!

YOU ARE COVERED

December 14, 2014

When you sign up for an insurance policy, whatever the term of the policy says, you sure are covered. When my son wakes up and sees his mother beside him, it doesn’t matter what time of the day it is or what position of sleep the mother has taken, the boy goes back to sleep, with the assurance that, “Mummy is still here.” An assurance that you have someone who can rescue you no matter the circumstance removes restlessness from your life.

I find it rather a demeaning and disrespectful act to God on the part of some believers who go about asking mere men for help. I liken such to the son of an estate owner going to the gateman for monetary assistance. Well, you might say the gateman could be of help, I agree, but I am sure the monetary assistance the gateman will render will be little compared to what the boy’s father can offer. When the woman in 2 Kings 6 cried out to the king for help, the king said, “If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? Out of the barn floor, or out of the winepress?”

No wonder the scripture says, “If the Lord does not build the house, the laborer is just wasting his or her time.” Stop running after men for help, they cannot help you, they also need help. Your best cover is God Almighty, the one who owns the silver and the gold, the one who owns every beast of the forest and the cattle upon a thousand hills, the one who closes and none opens, the one that has the storeroom of snow, the One with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning, the One that doesn’t have any form of limitation.

When you get under His cover, no harm can come near you. Stop running from prophet to prophet looking for help, fix your gaze on God Almighty and you will never be disappointed.

Remain blessed!

RECEIVING FROM GOD - 2

December 13, 2014

God is a good giver, which is why the scripture says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” You would also recall what Jesus said in Matt 7:11 that, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” To crown it all up, Jesus said in Matt 6:8 that, “Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.”

Every single day is loaded with blessings for the believer, Psa 68:19 says, “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.” However, like we said, sin blocks man from receiving the good and perfect benefits that God has in His hands, but when we repent of our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us. As a matter of fact, Apostle Paul said in 1 John 1:10 that, “If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” Repentance is key to obtaining from God.

Peter never grew to become that mighty Apostle until he repented. Acts 3:19 says, “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” Repentance is an act of declaring whose side you belong, and you know being on the Lord’s side is the best place to be. Job 22:23-24 says, “If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles. Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.”

Repent today, tomorrow may be too late. Be wise!

RECEIVING FROM GOD

December 12, 2014

One of the most frustrating things in life is knowing what you want, but not knowing how to get it. It is like the case of a maize in a closed jar, and then placed in front of a fowl. That fowl would end up wearied and frustrated because it would only be pecking the bottle in an attempt to eat the maize. That is why Ecc 10:15 says, “The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.” You would agree with me that it is foolishness to pack your luggage, and then head for the airport in attempt to fly from Nigeria to America without a visa.

To receive from God, there are certain conditions that must be met. One of it is consecration. Consecration is sanctification. It is purity. Many believers are busy praying tearfully and tirelessly, fasting and doing all sorts to be able to receive from God, but in the end, they end up disappointed, because they are busy toying and celebrating iniquity. Psa 66:18 says, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” It then means that if you won’t stop sinning, sin will sink you by staining your fasting and prayers.

2 Cor 6:17-18 says, “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” Until you are sanctified, you are not permitted to enjoy the heavenly, that is why Jer 3:19 says, “But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.”

Since consecration guarantees promotion and God’s blessings, it is wise you give up iniquity and embrace purity.

PRIDE KILLS

December 11, 2014

The story is told of two ducks and a frog that lived happily together in a farm pond. The best of friends, the three would amuse themselves and play together in their waterhole. When the hot summer days came, however, the pond began to dry up, and soon it was evident they would have to move. This was no problem for the ducks because they could easily fly to another pond.
But the frog was stuck. So it was decided that they would put a stick in the bill of each duck that the frog could hang onto with his mouth as they flew to another pond.

The plan worked well--so well, in fact, that as they were flying along a farmer looked up in admiration and mused, "Wow, isn't that a clever idea! I wonder who thought of it?" The frog heard the farmer and at that point opened its mouth and said, "I did..." He fell down and died. Prov 11:2 says, “When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.”  1Pe 5:5 says, “Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.”

Pride is the death of the soul. It tells us that we are the author of our own fortunes and destinies; owners rather than stewards of Creation; that we are competitors rather than neighbors to others. Mat 23:12 tells us that, “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.” What do you have that God did not give? What have you become that is outside of the knowledge of God?

Remember, Jas 4:6 says, “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” Lucifer fell because of pride. In all thy asking, ask for the grace to be humble always.

Enjoy!
