One thing we all need to understand is that if we want God’s will to
operate in our lives, we must be diligent and keep doing whatever He has made
clear for us to do until He says otherwise.
Following God is like climbing a mountain. If God shows us how high
the mountain is, we might be tempted to avoid taking the first step. It is like
climbing the stair of a 24 story building. The first few steps are what you see
and as you take more steps, you see other stairs and on and on like that until
you get to the top of the building.
God is really interested in instructing us as His children, which is
why the scripture says in Usa 30:21 “And thine ears shall hear a word behind
thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand,
and when ye turn to the left.”
But we must all understand that the second step to take will not be
revealed if we do not take the first step. You don’t have to see the whole
picture, once you are certain that it is God instructing you, take the step He
is asking you to take.
Joyce Meyer told a story of a woman who came to her complaining that
she was not hearing God anymore even though she has been seeking His face as
regards a particular issue. Joyce said God asked her to tell the woman that
there was no point speaking to the woman because the last thing He told her,
she has not done it.
In the things of God, you cannot skip steps. If God is asking you to
close down a business, it is because He is about to make you a business empire,
but if you refuse to close that business, the empire will remain locked. We must
sacrifice self-will to have God’s will. We must sacrifice our own ways to Have
God’s way.
I pray God gives you hearing ears, and a trusting and obedient heart
in Jesus Name. Amen!
