Prayer is an awesome privilege and an awesome responsibility. However,
in this important task of praying, the Holy Spirit helps us in two ways: He
helps us when we pray, and He helps us by praying for us.
There is a marvelous way to pray mentioned in the word of God. It is
called praying “in the Spirit.” Honestly for me, I see it as the only way to
pray. Jude 1:20 says “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy
faith, praying in the Holy Ghost” Eph 6:18 says “Praying always with all prayer
and supplication in the Spirit”
I enjoy praying in the Spirit because that way, the Holy Spirit allows
to experience His power and His presence. Not only does He make His power
available to us when we pray, He also prays for us! Romans 8:26 says “Likewise
the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray
for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings
which cannot be uttered.”
This means that the spirit “helps” as in keeps on helping – He doesn’t
stop helping us, He’s always at our aid. Don’t let your circumstance or the trouble you
are going through keep you from prayer, The Holy Spirit is waiting to plead
your case before the Father. The Holy Spirit is your advocate.
Sometimes we think we have the right word to pray, but by the time you
ask the Holy Spirit to help you pray, you will start praying in a way that is
beyond your own understanding. No matter how well you have organized your
prayer life, chosen the words to say and all, if you ignore the part played by
the Holy Spirit, you will only be praying amiss.
When The Holy Spirit is involved, you will be asking what is on the
mind of God for you, because He will reveal things to pray for to you.
My prayer for you this morning is that The Holy Spirit will from today
pray for you, pray with you and pray through you in Jesus Name. Amen!
