The story is told of a man travelling on a very
lonely highway. Suddenly as with any mechanical device, his car wouldn’t start
again just after about five minutes of stopping to ease himself. He had an
appointment to catch up and was running late. Minutes later, he saw a towing
van coming. “Hey, would you by any chance know of any mechanic around this
area?” Luckily for him, there was a mechanic in the van.
“Open the bonnet sir.” Said the mechanic as he
picked a spanner and hit the battery head and said, “Please start the engine
sir.” The engine started. “Wow, thank you, how much is your bill?” Asked the
man. “Well, I would do $100.” The man was surprised, “but you only hit
something and didn’t even get dirty, and here you are charging $100?” The
mechanic smiled, “Sir, I am charging you $10 for hitting the battery head and
$90 for knowing where to hit.”
Someone said knowledge knows that tomato is a fruit,
but wisdom does not put it in fruit salad. Wisdom is the ability to think and
utilize knowledge, experience, understanding or common sense. Prov 4:7 says, “Wisdom
is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get
understanding.” King Solomon became the wealthiest king that ever lived not
because he had the best of education or was the most hardworking man on earth
as that time, but because he was very wise.
Ecc 9:15 says a man was poor but he delivered an
entire city because he was wise. As you go about this year, please cherish
wisdom. Be wise in dealing with your clients. Be wise in the area of your
finances. As a believer, you are walking wisdom because Prov 2:7 says; “God layeth
up sound wisdom for the righteous.” You are to be the go-to guy. You are to be
a solution bank. I decree, you will be so wise that no man would be able to
resist you in Jesus Name. Amen!
