Have you ever
bowed your head to pray, but you could not find the right words? I
mean, you knew you wanted to pray—you wanted to connect with God—wanted the
heart connection with your Heavenly Father, but you just did not know how to
put into words what was in your heart . . . you just weren't sure what to
pray.
Most times,
circumstances clearly show how and for what we ought to be praying--healing,
comfort, peace, etc. Then, there are those times when it is
difficult to tell what the right thing would be--confusing to ascertain the
will of God, so what then? What words do you pray? That is the work
of the Holy Spirit – to intercede on your behalf. To help you pray.
How many of
us know of little kids that use their mothers as a bait to get things from
their fathers. The mom would serve as the intercessor, who would present the
child’s case before the father.
Romans 8:26 says
“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we
should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us
with groanings which cannot be uttered.” The Holy Spirit knows your greatest
and most urgent heart desires and one of His jobs is to help you pray your
desires into reality.
When the
believer is most oppressed by outward trials and is most depressed by a sense
of his inward vileness, when he is at his wit's end and ready to wring his
hands in despair, then the Spirit stirs him in the depths of his being:
"The Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot
be uttered."
The way
prayer works is like this, we pray to the Father, Through the Son, and With the
Holy Spirit. Our access to the Father is through His Son. Our prayer
partner when we go to the Father is the Holy Spirit.
From today,
Holy Spirit will pray with you, for you, in you and through you in Jesus Name.
Amen!
