In Mark 5:35 – 42, the ruler of the synagogue ran to Jesus to ask for
help in raising his daughter. When Jesus got to the man’s house, he saw
multitudes, wailing, crying and mourning the death of the little girl.
It is not uncommon to have more people around you when you are down
and in total mess. People prefer mourning with you to rejoicing with you. Henceforth,
I decree, all that shall be happening around you shall be things of joy in
Jesus Name. Amen.
When Jesus got to
the house of the man, he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha
cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.
Today, I am
focusing on that word “ARISE”.
Many of us are
sleeping giants. Many of us are sleeping heroes. Many of us have greatness
inside of us but we are yet to manifest because we are still sleeping.
Sleeping is not
just a state of lying down and closing the eyes, sleeping is a state of
deadness of the mind, of the spirit and of the body.
Many of us have
great plans and projects but we are waiting for one angel from heaven (always
waiting for the perfect time) to come down to help us execute those projects –
if you are like that, you are a sleeping giant.
Sleep is good but
too much of it is very bad. Prov 6:9-11 says How long wilt thou sleep, O
sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little
slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as
one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.
Wake up from thy
sleep today. Do the needful. Bible says while men slept, the enemies came and
sow tares among the wheat.
Awake out of thy
sleep o ye giant. Give life to your dreams and aspirations. That dream must not
die. That plan must not go away like that. The world needs that project for it
to become a better place. Arise!
