I remember a story
my father told me while growing up about a wise man in a particular town. This
wise man knew everything and could tell what would happen minutes away. One
day, a little boy and his friends planned to prove to the entire people of
their town that the wise man was not as wise as they thought.
The boy took a
little bird and put it in his hand and wrapped his fist around it so that the
wise man won’t know what was in his hands.
“Wise man, I have a
bird in my hand, is it dead or alive”. The boy asked. The plan was to kill the
bird should the wise man say the bird was alive and to release the bird alive
should the man say it was dead.
The wise man looked
at the boy and his friends and smiled and said “whether dead or alive, it is in
your hand”. By the time the boy would look back, all his friends had
disappeared.
Bible says I have
set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life that
both thou and thy seed may live. In order words, your destiny is not in the
hands of any man, it is right in your hands. Your choice determines your position in life.
Stop blaming your
parents for your predicament. Friends, the government of your nation is not the
reason why you are not where you want to be. Don’t be deceived, your employer
is not the determiner of your destiny. YOUR DESTINY IS RIGHT IN YOUR HANDS.
Until you come to
the understanding that your destiny is in your hands, you won’t fully take
charge of your life.
Esther said if I
perish, I perish. She understood that the destiny of the children of Israel was
neither in the hands of Haman nor in the hands of King Ahasuerus. That was what
saved the Israelites from the evil plan of Haman.
Friends, I am
encouraging you today to start taking charge of your lives. Be responsible for
your life. Don’t live everything to happenstance.
Take charge of your
life. The rudder of the boat of your life is your hands, where do you want to
go?
My prayer is that
every evil force working against your destiny would give way today in Jesus
Name. Amen!
