IDENTITY

There is a particular story in the book of 2Kings1 that is very interesting. King Ahaziah sent messengers to inquire of the god of the land whether he was going to recover from a certain disease. On their way, the messengers encountered a man that told them that the king was going to die.

The messengers immediately turned back to tell the king of what they just heard. In verse 7, the king asked, What manner of man was he which came up to meet you, and told you these words? Vs 8 says And they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.
What an amazing identity. Personal identity is what makes you unique. From the way the messengers described the man to the king, no other name crossed the king’s mind but Elijah’s.
Today in Nigeria, when you go to a store to buy noodles, they ask you, is it Indomie?
You should have a personal identity. There should be a distinct way of distinguishing you from every other person doing what you do.
No matter how close the design of two brands of cars might be, you would be able to clearly tell which is which from the logo. What is your logo?
When you see a musician on TV in Nigeria with torch light, you can easily tell it is Zaki Ade. When you hear a preacher on TV saying “ohon” “ohon”, you can easily it is Chris Okotie. When you see a preacher with short sleeve jacket, the first name that comes to mind would be Pastor Adeboye. What way can you be described?
Blind people and even demons recognized Jesus Christ. They know His person. They can identify Him.
If you would enjoy prosperity, then work on your identity.
May the Almighty grant you what would make even the blind to be able to tell it’s you in Jesus Name. Amen!
