When you are
climbing a mountain, if one person is moving slowly, everyone else gets slowed
down because there is a rope around all of you. If one person starts moving
fast, you all begin to move at the same pace. Prov 13:20 says, “He that walketh
with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”
Who are you
rolling with? Let me ask you, is he/she a friend or a foe? A friend helps you
become better in life while an enemy leads you astray. If his/her priorities
are outside the will of God, and you call that person a friend, sir/ma, it is
going to be hard for you to get far in life. Why? Our God is a God of
relationship, as such, every relationship in our lives matter as well. Make sure
you are building relationships with people who are going to where you are
going.
Are you
rolling with a gossip, a negative, complaining person? Is your own friend an
expert in anger affairs? Maybe your own so called best friend is a cheat,
drunkard or a fornicator? Or you have a friend in each category I have
mentioned. My friend, if you want to become who God has created you to be, you
have to find some new friends. 2 Cor 6:14 says, “Be ye not unequally yoked
together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with
unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
You have to
decide, are you going to the top or you are going to play around people who are
not going there? “Ah! Henry, you mean I should cut off my best friend, we have
been friends for ages?” Are you willing to sacrifice your life, destiny and
future for someone who doesn’t care anything about the will of God? No matter
who the person is, cut the rope now! I pray God gives you the grace and
strength needed to break away from every demonic and destructive relationship
around you in Jesus Name. Amen!
