WHO IS YOUR GOD?

August 31, 2013

Matt 6:21 says, “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Have you seen someone who just bought a new and expensive item? The person would sleep late playing with the item and most likely wake up earlier than usual just to check it again. That’s where the person’s treasure is, as such, that’s where his heart is. Unknowingly and unconsciously, some of us have carved out gods out of worldly things.

1Cor 8:5 says, “For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,). When the apostle Paul received power to heal a man who had never walked before, the people cried out: “The gods have become like humans and have come down to us!” The people wanted to worship Paul and his friend Barnabas. They called Paul Hermes and Barnabas Zeus, which were the names of false gods.

Exo 20:3 says, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me. What then does God mean by not having any other gods BEFORE Him? I believe God was addressing the heart as much as He was addressing outward religion when He gave these commandments. He was talking about the things and people that take up the space in the heart of man. He was talking about our aims and ambitions which often take priority over Him and His will in our hearts. He was talking about anything we crave for or anyone we long for more than God Himself. Yes, that's the idol that God talks about in the first of the Ten Commandments.

Sir, who is your God? Who takes the first place in your heart? That is your God. Is it a spouse or a child? Is it a bank account, a car, an inheritance? Is it your phone or your dress? Is it your house that you love? Is it a relationship that you depend on to be your source of happiness and joy? Is it a habit? Check yourself and repent. Remember, whatever contests for the place of God in man’s heart dies.

BE SOAKED IN THE WORD – 2

August 30, 2013

In Matt 4:4, Jesus said, "It is written: ’Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."  John 6:63 says, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

Isa 60:1 says, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.” To shine, there must be light. No one shines without light. And what is the light? Psa 119:130 says, “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” The light refers to spiritual illumination that is only derivable from dwelling in the word of God.

The word of God is a seed. It is what controls all forms of increases. Abraham heard the word of God, acted upon it and prospered. Elijah heard the word of God, acted upon it and was never hungry during famine.

For your health to prosper, you have to know what His promises on health are. For your home to be peaceful, and harmonious, you have to be soaked in the revelation of the Word of God on marriage. For you to prosper, you have to dig deep into the word of God to know what His revelations as regards finances are. Heb 1:3b says, “and upholding all things by the word of his power.”

Col. 3:16 says, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God. The indwelling Christ is a speaking Christ, and we need to let the word spoken by Christ to dwell in us richly.

To do this doesn’t merely mean to memorize the Word of God; we need to actively allow and let the word of Christ dwell in us richly. We need to go from being a reader and hearer to being a doer.

BE SOAKED IN THE WORD

August 29, 2013

Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”  The secret to a successful sojourn on earth is to be a student of the school of the word of God.

Recently, I had a revelation where I saw raw gold kept in between a Bible. While meditating on it, I heard, “treasures are loaded in the word of God, it takes only the reader of the word to be a benefactor.” The Bible is God’s manual for life. Unfortunately, we’d rather read entertainment magazines than read the Bible. We’d rather ping and tweet than study the word of God.

Sir, your business would have grown bigger than that, if only you would take time and study the word. Isa 30:21 says, “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it.” The word that your ear would hear is not entertainment news but God’s instruction and leading.

God wants to instruct you, but you must be soaked in the word of God. Psa 119:105 says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Your path would not shine if you are not a word reader. God wants to reveal things to you, but you won’t see them while busy chatting on your phone or wasting away your time in front of television. Catch a vision from the word so the world can watch you on the television as well.

You have a glorious destiny. The earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for your manifestation. Dust your Bible and make it a duty to study it in the morning, noon and night. Put the audio version on your phone and tablets. Be a word addict. As you do so, your eyes of understanding would be enlightened in Jesus Name. Amen!

GUARD IT

August 28, 2013

Some people’s minds are dumping sites for others. “Have you heard that our employer is going to downsize?” “Have you heard that the cost of cement has gone up?” “Do you see that the unemployment rate is on the increase?” They open up their minds to all sorts of rubbish and then end up having their destinies rubbished.

Pro 4:23 says, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” In order words, guard your mind with your last breath and never allow anything and anyone pollute it.
That minister of finance in 2Kings7 was limited by his mind and ended up losing his life. The essence of life is a sound mind. Without a sound mind, you cannot live a sound life. Noah did not see any need for building such a big ark but he refused to hinder divine plan with his mind. 1Pet 1:13a says, “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind.”

Your life will never change or become better until you put a “OUT OF BOUND” notice on the gate of your mind. Your mind is your thinking bank, and until you change the way you think, you will continue to stink.

Wipe off old mentalities. Remove old beliefs that do not conform to the word of God. To be who you have been created to be, you need to alter all the old wrong thoughts in you. Scripture says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Php 2:5 says, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” In order words, until you have the mind of Christ, you will never get out of crisis. The mind of Christ is sharp, sweet creative. From today, consciously determine to guard your mind with all that is in you. Let your mind be equipped with a sieve to avoid destiny pollution.

TELL IT TO GOD

August 27, 2013

There is a tale of a young man who had the opportunity of seeing God face to face to ask just one question. After a very deep thought, the young man asked, “why am I not getting answers to my heart desires?” God smiled and looked at the young man and answered, “Because you never brought them to me before.”

Many of us have selected things we discuss with God. “If it is something my employer or my father or my rich uncle or my spouse can handle, then why tell God?” However, what I have come to understand is that bulk of the time, we get disappointed, not because those people don’t want to help, but because they are also humans like you and I who have various needs as well.

Some of us go to our best friend and tell him/her how difficult the situation we are going through is, of which, many of them would sometimes use it to mock you. Job 7:11 says, “Therefore I will not refrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.” Job was saying that instead of going about telling people what you are going through, tell it to God.

He is a friend and Father, so go to Him. Talk to Him the same way you would talk to your best friend. Tell Him, “Father, I am broke. I am hurt. I just got jilted. You can’t believe I don’t have what to wear to church for next Sunday.” Sometimes the pain could be so much that we just need someone “physically present” to pour out to, please tell it all to God. He is our ever present help in times of need. Unload all your feelings. Release your frustrations and worries. God can handle them.

However, for God to handle your worry, you must be His candidate. You must be born again so God can hear you. Right now, just express how you feel unto God. He can handle your fear, doubt, anxiety, grief and all.

HOLINESS AND WEALTH

August 26, 2013

Mal 3:3-4 says, “And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.”

Some offerings and acts of giving in the church have not yielded any reward not because God is a liar but the giver’s state of heart determines the reward he gets when he offers unto the Lord. There is a need for holiness before our offerings can be pleasant and acceptable unto Him.

God is saying in Prov 8:20-21, “I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.”  What God has for you, no smartness of yours can get it for you.  There is no amount of scheming that can take you to the level God is planning for you. The first requirement is holiness.

Psa 112:4 says, “Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.” There’s no embarrassment or disgrace for the righteous, the Lord will always make a way for Him. Colorful and bright is the future of the righteous. Matt 5:6 says, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”

Wealth and divine provision is from God and God alone. Every other supposed source is fake and can never match God’s. Embrace holy living, stay away from sin and the wealthy will start calling you wealthy. Abraham walked perfectly before God before God prospered him.

As you embrace holiness from today, before you knock on doors, they open in Jesus Name. Amen

SIN BLOCKS

August 25, 2013

2Ti 2:19 says, “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal; The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” Adam was put in the Garden of Eden to enjoy. But he messed up. As a result of this, he became naked and was stripped of honor and dignity. Adam lost his beauty and the plan of God for his life as a result of sin. Sin stinks.

The devil is like a roaring lion seeking for whom to devour. The devil has targets; he won’t worry himself with useless souls. He is seriously searching for lives with marks of greatness on them just to destroy through sin.

Until you step out of sin, you will never step into limelight. If you enjoy sin, you will never come in touch with the secret of God. The devil would make sin enjoyable just so he could destroy you, but you must understand that God’s secrets are strictly reserved for the righteous. If truly you want to be great, you will flee from iniquity.

Do you know that the reason why your prayers are not answered is because of sin? Psa 66:18 says, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” Isa 59:1-2 says, “Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy that it cannot hear:
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

Bible says if thou would return, you will lay up gold as dust. Jesus is saying, come unto me today and I will give you rest. Isa 1:18 says, “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

Always remember that sin strips but holiness makes beautiful. Every force of sin over you becomes powerless in Jesus Name. Amen!

COME BACK HOME

August 24, 2013

Job 22: 23-25 says, “If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.  Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks. Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.”

Disobedience took man out of Eden and only obedience can get him back there. Until you are saved, you are not safe. In the book of Luke 15:11-32, we read the story of a son that requested that his father gave him his own portion of the father’s property. He got it and wasted it on riotous living. However, the father was still worried about the “useless” son, but the thing about it was that the father could not reach the son outside, until he returned home.

Your healing is at home; your wealth is at home; your fruit of the womb is at home; that job you are looking for is at home; until you return back home, you will never enjoy those benefits. Everything you need is at home, but God is saying, “Come back home.”

Psa 92:13 says, “Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.” The first step towards a great life in God is returning home. Tracing back one’s step to Jesus. No matter how dirty you might think you are, God is still saying, just come back home. He’s saying, I want to bless you; heal you; lift you up; decorate your life with glory; but you have to come back home.

Until you are totally yielded unto God, the earth will not yield any increase for you. Stop doing your business dubiously; stop cheating on your spouse; stop lying; stop that fraudulent act. Bishop Oyedepo said, “There’s plenty in purity.” As you return home, you cease to be homeless, jobless and useless in Jesus Name. Amen!

LOVE

August 23, 2013

In Matt 22, a certain lawyer came to Jesus and asked him, “Master, which is the great commandment in the law?” In verse 37-38 Jesus said unto him, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.”

Our God is a God of love. Everything that God has ever done has been because of love. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God is ready to release everything you so desire to make your Christian journey a beautiful and a glorious one, if only there is genuine love for God in your heart.

Have you ever seen a man fall in love with a woman? OMG! The man could walk 10km just to show the woman he loves her. As a result of the show of love, the woman automatically reciprocates. 1 Kings 3:3a says, “And Solomon loved the LORD.” In verse 4, his love for God made him give God a thousand burnt offerings. God saw this show of love and because of that had to come down and ask Solomon, “Ask what I shall give thee.”

Your regular attendance in church would make your pastor like you and maybe make your family think you are a believer, however, your love for God is what would make God reveal His true self unto you. Most of Jesus’ miracles were borne out of His love for the recipient. Listen to me, stop asking God for a job; a car or money; start expressing your love for God. Show Him you love Him from your heart not from your lips, because until that is done, no matter how hard you give or pray, you won’t truly enjoy God. Psa 37:4 says, “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

Pray with me, Lord, give me a heart for You in the name of Jesus.

HOLY SPIRIT

August 22, 2013

One of the biggest secret I have come to discover as a believer is that the Lord God has given us a companion sent to be everything unto us; friend, teacher, helper, director, defender, leader, producer, marketer, savior, advocate and everything that we might want him to be unto us.
He plays so many roles in the life of a believer that His presence in the life of a believer guarantees safety, promotion, progress, favor, health, wealth and come to think of all of the goodies that come with life.

With him you cannot fail, you cannot make mistake, you can never be wrong because He is perfect. Acts 1:8 says that ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon thee. Like I always tell people anytime I have the opportunity to speak to them about what the Holy Ghost can do, my first approach is that without the Holy Ghost in the life of a believer, the believer is a powerless person.

It is one thing to be a police officer and another thing to be a commanding officer. With the presence of the Holy Ghost in the life of a man, the man becomes the officer in charge; the commanding officer. The best way to start and end your day is with the Holy Spirit – that way, your day will be fun filled and result loaded. Without the Holy Spirit, a man is just a shell without any content; or a phone casing without the real gadget inside.

The power of the Holy Spirit is not just for preachers, evangelists, or people who work in special ministry; rather, it is available to every believer as long as we are in right standing with Him. A day without the Holy Spirit is “a hell of a day.” A life without the Holy Spirit is a lifeless life.

My prayer is that you shall from today and for the rest of your life, you shall always have a Holy Ghost filled day in Jesus Name. Amen!

WHEN YOU JUST CAN’T PRAY

August 21, 2013

Have you ever experienced it that you want to pray so hard, but you just can’t. It’s like a mental block. You know God is real. You are certain He listens and grants requests. You know He is always around, but you just cannot find the right words to pray. You open your mouth to pray and nothing is coming out. You know how/what you are feeling deep down on the inside of you but you can’t find words to express yourself. It is a terrible experience.

Most times it is as a result of a heavy heart/mind. You are so bothered and worried about what you are going through that you do not even know what to pray for or where to start from. Brokenness, unmet needs, emptiness, confusion, unbelief, fear, depression, sin, bewilderment, sin – we can be so overwhelmed with the crushing weight of these issues that we don’t even know how or what to pray. The very enormity of our struggles silences us. Words become so scarce at that point. It gets so worse that to even explain to people around becomes impossible.

However, help has been made available for us whenever we find ourselves in such situations. God knows that such times would come, which is why He sent the Holy Spirit. 8:26 says, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

The Holy Spirit is around saying, “May I help you?” He steps in when the familiar phrases just don’t seem adequate anymore, when all we can do is groan. The Holy Spirit is still here on earth because of you and I – to help us. So the next time your prayer life hit rock bottom, just turn to Him and he will be of help. He will give you the right words to pray and your life would never remain the same again in Jesus Name. Amen!

HALLELUJAH ANYHOW

August 20, 2013

We live in a world where anything can happen. It is a world where going to work can end in tragedy. It is a world where waking up becomes difficult for some. It is a world where some without any notice just get laid off at work. As much as we believers look on the bright side of life always, we should also understand that life would always be life. Knowing God would not keep tragedy from knocking on your door. However, there is one profound scripture in 1Th 5:18 that says, “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” In order words, keep shouting Hallelujah no matter what.

Hallelujah is the highest form of exhortation or praise. We shout it as a proclamation of confidence in the One that sits up there. We shout it because we have an understanding that even though it may appear that our burdens are overbearing – God cannot fail and that He is still awesome, mighty and wonderful.

There are many situations that would ordinarily make you want to just scream, “God, why me?” Sometimes we find ourselves in some situations that we doubt if God is still in control, however, when we just take the time to ponder upon what God has done in the past for you, irrespective of what you are going through, shout Hallelujah anyhow.

Sir, you may have no food to eat, some have the food but cannot eat. Hallelujah Anyhow! Whether there is money in your account or not, Hallelujah anyhow! Your job application just got rejected, Hallelujah anyhow. You just got dumped by your supposed spouse, Hallelujah anyhow! Remember, God is always in control, and He deserves to be praised whether you have a reason to or not.

James 1:2 says, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.” In order words, when your world is falling apart, when your problems are enormous, when temptations assail you on every side, just praise the Lord. Hallelujah! Let somebody shout Hallelujah!!!

TRUST ANYHOW

August 19, 2013

The three Hebrew boys incurred the wrath of Nebuchadnezzar by not bowing to his idol, as a result, the king made it clear to them that their refusal was going to end them in the burning fiery furnace. They refused to jitter. Their response is one of the most inspiring one in the Bible.

As written in Daniel 13:17-18, the boys said “If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”

Wow! What a level of trust? Job did same thing in Job 13:15a when he said, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him.” In order words, even if He refuses to restore me back, I will still trust Him. Sir, God is looking for those who would trust Him irrespective of whether they get answers to their prayers or not. God can give a job, but if HE doesn’t, that shouldn’t stop you from trusting Him.  He is the Almighty and He knows best.

Most of us are conditional “trusters”, “if God would only do this for me, I will never stop trusting Him.” Whether you have answers to your requests or not, trust anyhow. No matter what you are going through, keep on trusting God and God alone. Psalm 62:8a says, “Trust in him at all times.” I understand it might be hard especially going by how you are feeling and what you are going through, but make up your mind today that no matter what, you will keep on trusting God. He is our only choice and source.

I pray that God Almighty would give you the grace and strength you need to keep on holding on in Jesus Name. Amen!

ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE

August 18, 2013

Orville and Wilbur Wrights were brothers who decided to build the world’s first successful airplane. Immediately this intention was made known, they became object of media ridicule and cartoon. Professors of aeronautics saw them as jokers. Students of aeronautics saw them as clowns because these were guys that were school drop outs.

In 1906, European Newspapers especially in France called them bluffeurs (bluffers) according to Wikipedia. One man even said “The Wrights have flown or have they not flown. They possess a machine or they do not possess one. They are in fact either fliers or liars. It is difficult to fly. It is easy to say, ‘We have flown’.” In 1908, after the Wrights’ first flights in France, the same man that said they couldn’t fly a plane admitted he had done them an injustice. It might be difficult, but it is not impossible.

In the book of 2Kings7, a prophet issued a decree that “Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.” The then Minister of Finance of Samaria, looked at the man of God and said “Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be?” In order words, he was saying that it was impossible. You and I know how the man ended his life, he saw it happened but never benefited.

Someone said when you think at that moment that it is possible – then the magic starts. There is no mountain too high for you to climb. There is nothing called impossible. Mark 9:23 says “all things are possible to him that believeth.” The first thing is to believe impossibility is nothing. With man, it might be impossible but with God, ALL things are possible.

My prayer is that everything that looks impossible for you before now, from today, Jesus the way, will make a way for you where there seems to be no way in Jesus Name. Amen!

DIVINE PROTECTION

August 17, 2013

Divine protection is the plan of God for every believer.  God uses angels and several other supernatural means to give us the protection that we need.  It is also God’s plan and will that we should enjoy a long life seeing our children’s children and enjoying the fruits of our labor.  Divine protection emanates from God, the creator of heaven and earth. Those who look elsewhere for divine protection have gone astray. Proverbs 18:10 says that "The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe"

Are you in imminent danger? Or are you afraid of what the enemy might do to you? Do you feel unsafe because the enemies that surround you are so many? I’m very confident He will surely protect you and deliver you from all evil. I am telling you same thing that Elisha told his servant in 2 Kings 6 that Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. Isa 54:17a says that No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.”

Psa 125:2 says, “"As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even forever." Note that if you are not a member of the body of Christ, it would be pretty difficult for you to claim any of God’s promises for yourself

Every attack that the devil had planned against you is diverted now in the name of Jesus. I use my words to agree with God’s Words, and, therefore, I say that you cannot be defeated and you cannot be molested! I see every weapon formed against thee going back to the sender in Jesus Name. I see your enemies falling into the same pit they have dug for you in Jesus Name. I see you outrunning your enemies in Jesus Name. Amen!

DIVINE HEALTH

August 16, 2013

Health, they say is wealth. Let me make it clear here that sickness was and is never in God’s plan for man from creation. First of all we should know that God designed and created our body to function eternally.  Our body has the ability to regenerate and renew the cells and the tissue.  God, who created the human body, has also given us a guide to maintain that body.

Divine health is greater blessing than healing. In order words, it is better to remain healthy than to be asking for healing and the truth is that divine health is our birthright only if we keep God’s commandment. It is not a great experience to be ill. However, no matter how little or serious the sickness is, there is power in the name of Jesus to heal all forms. The same Jesus that healed fever healed 12 years flow of blood and even 38 years infirmity.

Its God’s will and desire that we should always enjoy good health and be free from sickness. 3 John 1:2 says Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. Exo 15:26 says that as a result of your righteousness, God will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee. Deut 7:15 says And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.

Say after me, I am the body of Christ. Jesus has borne my sickness and carried my diseases in his own body. By His stripes, I am healed. My body is the temple of God and not an abode for sickness. Every organ, tissue of my body functions in the perfection in which God created them to function. My body will bring glory to the body of Christ in Jesus Name. Amen!

THE PROMISE

August 15, 2013

2 Timothy 3:16 says that all Scriptures in the Bible are inspired by God. The Word of God contains every promise that we need to know about all issues of life, including Divine Health and Healing and prosperity and protection and fruitfulness and success and all.

Our faith rests secure in the PROMISES of God. 2nd Peter 1:4 says “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious PROMISES: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” The power of God rests in the PROMISES of God.

God has given us promises that we can rely on when we are in need of comfort and assurance. These promises were made by a loving Heavenly Father and it is very comforting to know that God loves us and He ALWAYS keeps His promises. When praying to the Father, take His promises before Him. Romans 4:20-21 says "He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform"

The promises of God are powerful and awesome to grasp. Early in biblical history, God began making covenant promises to the Jewish people. He was faithful to His word, even when they were not faithful to Him.  To enjoy God’s best; go to Him with His promises. He is not a man that repent of His words so if He promised it, He will do it.

Father your word says that Your thought towards us are thoughts of good and not evil, to give us a good and expected end, we also know that eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, nor has it come to the heart of any man, what the Lord God has in stock for us, as we profess your promises and claim them, may we enjoy the fullness of those promises in Jesus Name. Amen!

GOD’S TIMING IS PERFECT

One of the greatest destroyers of faith is timing that doesn’t fit our preconceived notions. We live in a fast paced world where we have come to expect instant responses to every desire and need. It is a world where everything is fast and instant. Instant coffee. Instant cash from the ATM. Instant relief from headache or backache. Instant meal. Instant fame. If we had the power, maybe we would have even demanded for instant babies.

But God doesn’t operate that way. He is never in a hurry and He is never slow. Before Lazarus died in John 11, the sisters quickly sent an instant message to Jesus informing him on the state of Lazarus. Jesus loved Lazarus, as such, Mary and Martha expected instant response. However, Jesus did not show up until after another two days, during which Lazarus had died and has been buried.

By the time Jesus got to Lazarus’ place, the sisters were angry and one of them said, “Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.” Jesus then performed one of His most dramatic miracles as He called Lazarus out of the tomb. Jesus was not late after all. He arrived at the precious moment necessary to fulfill the purposes of God.

Jesus is never late. His timetable for action is simply different from ours. And I have noticed that it is most times slower but always the best. When the wine ran out in Cana, his mother rushed to him expecting instant miracle, but Jesus responded by saying, “Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.” God’s timing is perfect.  He intervenes at just the right moment for our ultimate good.

Be patient when dealing with God. Always have it at the back of your mind that He is always on time. Never too early and never late. He comes at the time where there would be greater glory. I pray that the patient to keep holding onto Jesus till He shows up be released upon you in Jesus Name. Amen!

IS ANYONE ELSE THERE?

August 13, 2013

There is a story of a man that was driving on a narrow mountain road, as he rounded a bend; he suddenly lost control of the vehicle. The truck ejected this man through the window and he managed to grab a bush that grew on the top. After trying to pull himself up for several minutes, he screamed out in desperation, “Is anyone there?”

Suddenly he hears the thundering voice of the Lord saying, “I am here, what do you want?” The man said, “Please save me! I can’t hold on much longer!” The voice said, “All right, I will save you, but you must first turn and let go of the bush and trust me to catch you. My hands are under you, ok?”

The dangling man looked over his shoulder at the burning truck in the valley below, and then he called out, “Is anybody else there?” Have you ever found yourself in a similar fix? You tend to see God’s plan as off track. Sir, let me tell you unapologetically that God’s plan is the best and the only sure plan.

In 1King 17, God told Elijah to go to brook Cherith where he would get food to eat and water to drink. There was great drought in the land, so this was good news for Elijah. However, sometimes later, the brook dried up because there was no rain. Elijah could have tried to figure out if there was another brook nearby but he refused to figure it out with his own mind, rather, he trusted God would come up with a rescue plan and God did.

Let me make it clear that because God’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts, it would be very difficult to figure his plans out, so the best thing to do is to trust Him blindly like father Abraham did when he took Isaac up the hill to sacrifice all because God said so and he trusted God could never be wrong.

Trust God and God alone and I am sure that God will not fail you in Jesus Name. Amen!

THE PAS IS PAST

August 12, 2013

Bil Keane said that, “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.” Sometimes in life we go through issues and challenges that we do not like to go through again. At times, the experience of the past is so harsh and bad that we find it very hard to forget. Some of us even let the past determine how we act in the present and what vision we carve out for our future.

Someone would say, “Bro, the last person I dated was a total jerk.” Sorry about that, but the next guy might be the right one. Don’t stop all relationships just because you got hooked up with a turkey. Cut the rope and move on. We are to learn from the past, but the moment we allow our past failures stop us from taking another step, we are done for.

Hello, Isa 43:19 says, “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” Don’t be a slave of your past. Take charge of your present and future. The past is past, you cannot get it back again, do something about your today and tomorrow which are still within your control.

You become what you decide to be. You need to let go of what has passed and look forward with hope and faith to that great, colorful and bright future ahead of you. Phil 3:13b says, “..but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” The only way you can enjoy your future is to let go of your past hurts and failures and press forward.

Jer 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Your future is not dependent on your past. I pray that for your past shame ye shall have double honor in Jesus Name. Amen!

BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING

August 11, 2013

When we are faced with challenges and troubles, our tendency is to get anxious. We start fidgeting and worrying about possible outcomes. But God does not want us to react that way. He wants us to be anxious about nothing. Phil 4:6 says, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

God is saying, fear not, relax, don’t worry. “Bro, it is easy for you to say, come live with my wife for a day. Go check my account balance. You don’t wanna know what I am passing through at work. My family members are the most difficult to cope with.” Hold on for a little while, I am not the one that said, “Be anxious for nothing,” your Father in heaven gave that clear instruction. Let your watchword be “Relax!”

Come to think of it, would your anxiousness pay the debt? Would it fix the issue? Most likely, it would worsen the situation. Matthew 6:27 (ESV) says, “Which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life.” Matt 6:26 says, “Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?”

Hello, don’t die prematurely of hypertension, cast all your care upon the Lord for he careth for you. Matt 11: 28-30 says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Sir, take it all to God. Refuse to worry about anything and let God do the worry. I pray for you that every source of anxiety dries off permanently in Jesus Name. Amen!
