FIND YOUR WINGS

March 12, 2013

There is a popular story of a boy that found an eagle’s egg and put it in the nest of a chicken. The eagle hatched and thought that he was a chicken. He grew up doing what the chickens do – scattering the dirt for food and flying short distances with a noisy fluttering of wings. It was a dreary life.

The eagle saw that he was different from the chicken but could not explain why he was in their midst doing what they do. He grew older and bitter. One day he and his chicken family folks went out and saw a beautiful bird soaring on the currents of the air and dancing in the sky high above the mountains.

“Oh, I wish I could fly like that!” said the eagle. The chicken replied, “Don’t give it another thought. That’s the mighty eagle, the king of all birds – you could never be like him, you are an ordinary chicken!” The eagle gave it no more thought from that moment and went on cackling and complaining about life. The eagle died thinking he was a chicken.

We all have many gifts that we have never opened. It’s time to open some of your wings. There is more inside of you than you dare think. You are not here by mistake. God intentionally created you a man/woman, He purposely created you a citizen of that nation because you were born into this world to do something unique and something distinctive, and if you refuse to do it, it may never be done.

The easiest way to make it in life is to find your niche. Bible says that the gift of a man makes way for him and brings him before kings and not before ordinary men. That means for you to come before people that matter, you must first find your wings. Without wings, an eagle cannot fly.

You have so much exciting qualities, so stop thinking others are better than you. You are in no way an inferior product. Just stretch your mind and fly. Discover yourself.

I pray that your gifts shall take you to greater heights in life in Jesus Name. Amen!
