CHRIST IN US

September 9, 2014

There is a story of two donkeys strolling in Jerusalem few days after Jesus had rode into the city on a donkey, when one of them said, “Just yesterday I was passing here carrying Jesus and everyone was singing and I was even stepping on their clothes…..and today, not even one of them recognizes me. The second donkey smiled and looked at him for a while and then responded, “My friend, in this world, you are nothing without Christ.”

I am sure you would agree with me that wherever the President of a nation choses to live in automatically becomes a Presidential Villa. It is not about the house, it is about the person staying in that house. The moment Christ stepped into Peter’s ship, the ship became fruitful and the same person that had toiled all night without catching anything caught so much that his net started tearing apart. It means that with Christ in you, lack and want disappears and you start swimming in overflow.

Christ cannot be in you and at the same time sickness be in you because there is no union between light (Christ) and darkness. Col 1:27c, says, “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” In order words, there is neither anything called hopeless case nor anything called shame when you have Christ in you because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.

However, you have to play your part by opening the door of your heart to Christ before He can be in you. Rev 3:20 says, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Christ is interested in dwelling in anyone (the tired, the depressed, the sinner, the wearied, the grumpy, the frustrated, etc) but we must be the one to say, “Lord, come dwell in me.”

Remember you cannot have Christ in you and be experiencing crisis. Be wise!

BORN FOR IMPACT

September 8, 2014

Everyone that God created were created for impact. As we have heard countless number of times that no one is a product of a biological experiment – we are all products of a well thought-out plan of God. Bible says, before God formed us, He knew us. In order words, He already knew what we are coming to planet earth to achieve, which was why He made us the way we are, because that’s the best way we can be in order to fulfil the mission for which we were created for.

It is not a thing of joy for one to just be an addition to the population of a nation, when God said, “Be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth and dominate it.” When you look at the story of Methuselah in Gen 5:21-27, you would realize he was given birth to and the only record of him that we have is that he begat and begat and lived for 969 years and then died. There is nothing spectacular about his life despite living the longest on earth in human history. He only had his name in the Bible because Noah came through him.

However, when you look at the life of King David, he only lived for seventy years which is like 1/14 of the time of Methuselah but his achievement was super. He fought a bear, killed Goliath, won several battles, sang several hymns, co-authored 150 chapters of a book and so many other things. Jesus lived 3 and a half years of unmatchable impact. Sir/ma, I have come this day to tell you that no matter who you are or where you are, God designed and created you for impact.

You are not here to just work, marry, give birth and die, NO! There is a purpose for which you are here on earth. But without a relationship with your creator, you might find it hard knowing and doing what you were created for.

You shall fulfil purpose!

JUST BELIEVE

September 7, 2014

“I believe, yes Lord, I believe, yes Lord, I believe, it is well with me.” This is one song that most of us sing with everything in us but our attitude and our spirit is showing strong signs of disbelief. Sometimes this could be understandable considering the weight of what we are believing God for. It could be hard for a man who does not have a source of income yet to believe God for divine provision considering that we have all been programmed into seeing the physical before the spiritual which is a very wrong approach.

Isa 7:9b says, “If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established. In order words, you can never receive anything from God until you believe. In Matt 9:27-31, two blind men kept following Jesus and asking for mercy that they may see. When they finally had access to Jesus, He asked them a very vital question, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord,” and they received their sight. Note one statement Jesus uttered, “According to your faith let it be to you.”

In order words, if those guys had not believed, they might have remained blind for life. As believers, we are to believe whatever the word of God has said concerning us so that we can enjoy the benefits. When the ruler of the Synagogue’s daughter died in Mark 5, Jesus told the man, “Do not be afraid, only believe.” In Mark 9, when a man brought his sick son, Jesus said unto him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.” You are not called a believer because you attend church, you are a believer because you believe the word of God.

If you go through the New Testament very well, you would realize that bulk of the miracles that Jesus did were activated by the recipient’s belief. If you can believe, you can receive.

Remain blessed!

DELAYED GRATIFICATION

September 6, 2014

We live in a world of show off. We live in a world where if you are not living in so and so area or driving such and such car, or wearing so and so type of dress you are seen as wretched. This mentality has so much driven many people into debt. Unfortunately, most times the people you think you are trying to impress don’t even give a damn about you – live your life. Do your dream. Focus on your future.

Delayed gratification is the ability to resist the temptation for an immediate reward and wait for a later reward or resisting a smaller but more immediate reward in order to receive a larger or more enduring reward. In the kingdom of God, many find it hard to delay immediate gratification which is why they are always frustrated, confused and disappointed. Many in relationship cannot resist pre-marital sex forgetting that marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge (Heb 13:4).

Someone said so many people buy what they do not need to impress the people who do not care about them. May I tell you sir that a bigger car doesn’t mean a bigger or brighter future neither does a bigger television magnify your vision, in most cases, it cripples one’s vision. The size of your wrist watch DOESN’T tell us the size of your vision. One trait common to great people is that they have the ability to say, “NO” to certain things today because they know they will have much more tomorrow.

Let me ask you, what is your dream, simply put, what vision do you have for your life and what are you willing to give to make your dream come to pass? Invest in your today so that you can have a brighter and better tomorrow. Be hardworking, focused and prayerful.

See you at the top!

FRUITFULNESS

September 5, 2014

Fruitfulness means fertile, productive and profitable. I have never met anyone that doesn’t desire fruitfulness. The businessman would tell you, “I don’t run a charity organization, I need to make profit.” Many employers lay off some of their employees because they see them as unproductive. Fruitfulness brings joy and fulfillment while fruitlessness brings sorrow, pain and shame.

In the parable of the talent in Matt 25, Bible says the one that got five talents doubled it making ten. Likewise the one that got two talents, he had made two more talents before his master came back. The master was very impressed because it was a profitable bargain for him. However, the one that received one talent went and hid it in the earth. When the master heard that, he became furious and immediately christened him slothful and wicked, in order words the unproductive believer is a wicked person. The master expected some returns on his investment even if it was just bank savings interest.

You are God’s investment and He is expecting fruits from you every time. God said in Gen 1:28 that, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” In order words, go forth and bear fruits. However, without a genuine relationship with your creator you cannot understand what you were created to do because He is the vine, we are the branches and he that abideth in Him, and He in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Him we can do nothing (John 15:5). Until Saul became Paul, he was bearing evil fruits.

Your struggles and hustles would yield little or no fruit/profit without a connection to your creator because it only those that do know (connected to) their God that shall be strong and shall do exploits. Peter toiled all night without no catch but the day he encountered Jesus, he broke through.

Be wise!

HAVE FAITH IN GOD

August 4, 2014

The scripture defines faith in Heb 11:1 as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith is an assurance that even though I may not see it physically, it exists therefore I believe I have it. Many times, I see that we have faith in the physical more than in the metaphysical (supernatural). I know of a certainty that none of us bother to check the chair we sit on in church because we believe and have faith in the church that they would have checked it and if it was bad, they would have removed it.

In Mark 11, Jesus became hungry and saw a fig tree afar. He quickly went there to see if perhaps there would be something on it but nothing was on it because it was not the season of figs, but Jesus went ahead and declared the fig tree barren. By the following day, when Jesus and His disciples were passing by that fig tree, the disciples saw that it had dried up from the roots. The disciples were amazed. In verse 22, Jesus told them, “Have faith in God.” Verse 23 says you will receive whatever you believe God for – anything! Amazing!

When you act in faith, supernatural forces will swing into action and come to your aid because faith is the ignition that starts the vehicle of your miracle. Faith sees plenty in famine. Faith sees the good in the bad. The disciples’ faith in Jesus by sharing five loaves of bread and two fishes to a crowd of 5000 triggered one of the most amazing miracles in the Bible. The centurion said only the word of Jesus was enough to heal his servant, and the moment Jesus declared the healing, the same hour the servant got healed.

There is nothing too hard for God to do, but He needs your faith. Remember Jesus couldn’t do much miracles in His own country because of their lack of faith (Matt 13:58).

Always have faith in God.

BE DECISIVE

September 3, 2014

We make decisions every day. From decisions as simple as brushing your teeth to which paste to use and so on. Decision making is very vital in the journey of life. Eve decided to eat the forbidden fruit and when she gave Adam, he could have decided to reject it but he accepted. That tells you that you could either decide to be great in life or to remain small. I have discovered that great men are decision makers. They do not live their lives on a matter of chance.

If you would ever be great, you would have to develop the skill of making decisions no matter how small they may appear. Note that every decision you make is either taking you closer to your desired goals in life or taking you farther away from them. Deut 30:19 says, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.” You therefore must make right decisions always. Your future and that of some generations yet unborn is shaped by the decisions you are making right now and your today is a product of the decisions you made yesterday.

This daily wisdom nugget is a product of a decision I took almost two years ago to use my mobile phone as an evangelistic tool. You decided to read it or delete it. However, one very vital decision that everyone that desire greatness must make is to become born again. You need to forsake your evil ways and decide from the bottom of your heart to follow Jesus. Give your life to Him and He will shape it up for you. Say with me, “Father, I acknowledge that I am a sinner. That Jesus died for me on the cross. Please forgive me. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Amen!”

Always remember that many times, no decision is a decision.

Remain blessed!

FOCUS

September 2, 2014

We learnt in elementary science that when you focus ray of sunlight through a magnifying lens on a paper for a considerable long time, the paper will be burnt. One very powerful force on earth is the force of focus and one reason why few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most of us dabble through life, never deciding to master anything in particular.

When the apostles were all locked up in the common prison in Acts 5. At a point in time, Bible says an angel freed them, and very early the next morning, they entered into the temple and taught. When the high priest summoned them to his office, he asked them, “Didn’t I command you that you should not teach in the name of Jesus again?” Focused Peter said in verse 29, “We ought to obey God rather than men.” As a result of their focus, the number of disciples were multiplied. Friends, there is nothing that can dissuade a focused man because he is not seeing the now but the tomorrow.

Many believers get discouraged easily when the plan they have put in place is not going as expected. Some even change plan without hearing from God forgetting that the man that leaves where God has put him is sending a partnership invitation to the devil. In life, there would be challenges, but you need to stop focusing on what you are up against and start focusing on your goals and God’s ability to help you become who He created you to be. Because of the goal of salvation for man, Jesus was so focused that not even the cross could stop Him.

I have learnt that successful people maintain a positive focus in life no matter what is going around them. Do you want to be great in life? Sir/ma, please focus your time, energy, talent, resources and your all on what God has created you to do and stop gambling.

You shall succeed.

EXCUSE NO EXCUSE

September 1, 2014

One of the things that we naturally inherit and end up doing professionally even without any formal training is how to give excuse for not doing the needful. When you ask a child why he didn’t do his homework, he would say, “there was no electricity and we didn’t have no fuel in the power generator and then my uniform was dirty and before I could finish sorting everything, it was already late.” Unfortunately, that doesn’t stop the teacher from scoring the child zero.

Many heroes are still on level zero because they are walking excuses. Let me remind you that God’s plan for every of His children is to be great which is why He said you shall be the head and not the tail, however out of laziness, many believers have refused to pursue their dreams forgetting that dreams come true only for those who work at making them come true. God will do His part, but you must do yours, if you have an excuse for not doing your part, I am so sure you won’t expect God to do His own part.

People who give excuses are too lazy to become great in life. Prov 26:13 says, “The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets,” even after the word of God has said in Psa 91:13 that, “Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.” Sir/ma, excuses are shortcuts the devil has created to cheat many believers and render them low in life. The day you stop giving excuses, you start making a headway in life because where there is a will, there is a way.

Prov 20:4 says, “The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.” If you don’t want to beg to eat, I beg you in God’s name, do away with excuses and just do what needs to be done!

Blessed month ahead.

I KNOW BETTER

August 31, 2014

There is a joke about a road user driving without fastening his seat belt. A traffic officer stopped him and said, “Do you know that according to the 1999 constitution that driving without fastening your seat belt is punishable under the law with an option of one thousand Dollar fine or six months jail term?” The smart road user smiled and looked at the officer, “Do you know that the constitution was amended in 2003 and it now says if your car has airbag, you are fine?” The confused officer looked at him and said, “Oh! Really, thanks for informing me, you can go.”

Many are suffering because they lack information. The man that is not informed will be deformed. God said, “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” As believers, we have access to information and revelation that the world doesn’t have which is the edge we have over them, however many of us refuse to utilize this privilege and as such, we have become objects of molestation in the hands of the devil. Let me remind you that the devil is always going about seeking for whom to devour, however, when you know better than him, he dares you not.

The only way to know better is to be an addicted student of the Word of God because the entrance of God’s Word gives light. During the first few months of pregnancy, the doctor told my wife it was fibroid. The moment she told me, I laughed and told her immediately, “Baby, the womb was created to carry children and not fibroid, so forget whatever the doctor said, I know better!” I never bothered about it and surprisingly it was the same doctor that saw fibroid that took delivery of the baby.

I know better, therefore I cannot be poor because I know Christ became poor that I might be rich. I also know I cannot die young because He said I shall live to fulfil God’s purpose. Sir/ma, the better you know, the sweeter your life.

Be wise!

FORGIVE

August 30, 2014

Many times in our lives, we find it very hard and difficult to forgive some set of people considering the gravity of the harm and pain they have caused us. Come to think of it, how easy would it be to forgive a man that promised you marriage but disappointed you thereby turning you to a laughing stock among his and your friends, or the friend that you so much trust ending up a betrayer? It is not going to be easy. However, one thing that you need to always remember is that unforgiveness hinders one’s prayers from being answered.

Jesus said in Mark 11:24-25 that, “Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought (issues or any case of unforgiveness) against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” In order words if you refuse to forgive others, God won’t forgive you (and remember all have sinned) which in turns makes your prayer empty babblings.

When Peter asked Jesus about how many times can someone offend me before forgiveness dries up, The Master replied by saying, “Until seventy times seven,” that’s like 490 times. This led Jesus to telling a parable in Matt 18:21-35 about an unforgiving servant. Because the servant who was earlier forgiven refused to forgive, he was delivered to torturers until he should pay what he was owing. Jesus said in verse 35 that, “So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not everyone his brother their trespasses.”

I agree forgiveness could be hard to do, but always remember that if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses (Mark 11:26) and therefore your prayers won’t be answered. List those you are yet to forgive and tell them this moment, “I forgive you,” and see what God will start doing in your life.

Remain blessed!

WALKING POWER HOUSE

August 29, 2014

Growing up, my father used to tell me that an unloaded gun is as bad and harmful as a loaded one.  A sleeping lion is as deadly as one that is awake. In order words a lion is a walking danger which is why the Bible likens the devil to a lion going about seeking whom he may devour. As believers, we are also loaded with so much power that I call us walking power house. We are not to be molested by sickness or pain or shame or whatever doesn’t bring God glory.

One of the words of Jesus unto us in Luke 10:19 says, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” In order words we are “touch-not’s” to evil. Many of us do not know what power we have which is why we have become objects of molestation in the hands of the devil. May I let you know that devil is not a respecter of title or age, don’t forget he tried molesting Jesus but failed because Jesus is a walking power house.

In order to be a walking power house, you need to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8a says, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.” Apostle Peter was not educated and very shy so much that at a point he denied Jesus for fear of being killed or jailed, but the moment the Holy Ghost came upon him, he became a walking power house so much that Acts 5:15b says, “that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.”

And to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit, you have to be holy. Always remember that without holiness no man shall see God (The Holy Spirit - because God is God the Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost and without the Holy Spirit, no power.

Be holy!

BE A BLESSING

August 28, 2014

I have discovered that God blesses people so that they can become a source of blessing unto others. Unfortunately and sadly, most times, many of us block the flow of God’s blessings because we assume the blessing is only for me, myself and I which in most cases is very untrue. I have heard people say, “I just can’t afford to give this stuff out, do you know how long it took me to get it?” Those kind of people have forgotten the word of God through John in John 3:27 that, “A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.”

When God was making a covenant with Abraham in Gen 12, He said in verse 2, “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.” God was making Abraham know that a metal pipe that refuses to let water out through it in most cases get rusted and replaced. As long as you are full, you cannot be filled. You need to always remember that you are always blessed to bless.

One of the secrets I have discovered when it comes to kingdom providence is the act of blessing people with money, material gifts and even other intangible resources. Luke 6:38 says, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” You can give a listening ear; you can give a relieving hug; you can give money; you can give food items, you can give your time. To tell you the truth, you have something to give.

Finally, Heb 7:7 says, “And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.” In order words, the “blesser” is always better than the “blessee”. The more you bless others, the better your life becomes.

Be wise!

PATIENCE

August 27, 2014

For every of God’s vision, there is a timing for it. But most times, we find God’s timing “too slow” especially in this fast lane era. We try to work it out by ourselves, which is why many get delayed and frustrated. Some even start doubting if truly God has told them to do what they are doing because they are not seeing any reasonable result not knowing that there is a time and season for everything under heaven.

Uncle Moses sensed the call of God upon his life to deliver Israel from slavery, however, he was not patient enough to wait for God’s own timing. When he was forty years old, he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew slave and he killed him. I am sure Moses was just eager to get the people of Israel out of Egypt like yesterday but that wasn’t God’s plan. The scripture makes it clear that Moses had to wait another forty years before he was commissioned to lead the deliverance process of the Israelites. Maybe if he hadn’t been too hasty, he would not have had to wait extra forty years before fulfilling purpose.

On the other hand, father Abraham knew God had already told him that he would be made the father of many nations despite that he had no child. Heb 6:15 tells us that after father Abraham had patiently waited, he obtained the promise. If he had not waited, maybe he would have still obtained the promise but it could have been delayed. Always have it at the back of your mind that God’s ways are higher, and so, never ever try to work things out according to your own timing. Patiently wait.

But while waiting for the “go ahead” get yourself prepared because there is no greater frustration than for the time of manifestation to come and you are not prepared. Most importantly, you must know God so you can know clearly when He is the One asking you to go ahead.

Keep shining!

OVERCOMING THE FEAR OF FAILURE – 2

August 26, 2014

Fear is one of the sins that the scripture says could also take one to hell. And assuredly I tell you that fear of failure makes a born again, tongue talking believer experience hell on earth. That shall not be your experience in Jesus Name. The moment you develop a personal intimate relationship with Jesus, your divorce papers with failure just got signed. It is now left to you to do the needful to ensure that the separation if eternal.

The second thing to do is to be a good reader of the word. It takes a reader of the word of God to conquer this world of ours, because that person knows the things that have been freely given him/her and as such it becomes hard and impossible for the devil to fail the person. May I remind you that all scriptures (word of God) were given by inspiration and meant to make you perfect and furnished for all good works (2 Tim 3:16-17). Josh 1:8 says for those who read and meditate on the word of God, they are guaranteed good success, in order words they cannot fail.

Another thing is to stay where God has put you. I always tell people that a shark challenging the eagle to a flying contest is only inviting public shame. God knows why He created you which is why the scripture says, before you were formed, God knew you, so it is wise for you to stay in that knowledge of God concerning you. Someone said whatever vision God gives, He makes provision for it. It is better to succeed at one thing than to fail doing many things.

Lastly, sharpen your ax. Scripture says, study to show thyself approved. In order words, preparation precedes manifestation. Jesus prepared for 18 years which was why His earthly ministry of just three and a half years is everlasting. Know your area better than any other person, that way, you will be bold enough to come out anytime, anywhere.

Go succeed!

OVERCOMING THE FEAR OF FAILURE

August 25, 2014

One of the deadliest fear that limits people is the fear of failure. No one wants fail, which is why many of us tend to take it cool and not be the best at what we do. There are things that God has called each and every one of us to do but when we think about, “what if,” then we tend to postpone or in most cases look for a cheap alternative which is why many giants are still walking ants.

When God called Moses to send him to Pharaoh, Moses said, “God, I am not the perfect candidate for this job because I cannot talk very well,” God said, “Don’t worry, I made the mouth, I will help you.” The underlying factor that made Moses give God several excuses was fear of failure which eventually came out in Exo 4:1, when he said, “What if they don’t believe me? What if they don’t accept me? What if they say You have not sent me?” Moses had lot of “what ifs” just because he doesn’t want to appear a public failure figure.

Anyone who has that fear of failure would find it hard to fulfil his/her destiny because he/she is always scared of doing what he/she has being called to do. They always give excuses for why they are not doing the needful, but you can overcome that fear because you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father (Rom 8:15).

Acts 4:13 says, “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter (the one that denied Jesus out of fear) and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” The first step towards overcoming that fear of failure is knowing and having a personal relationship with Jesus, because it is only the people that do know their God that shall be strong, and do exploits.

Fear not!

THE UNFAILING WORD

August 24, 2014

Another wonderful thing about the word of God is that it has never and it can never fail. Whatever the word of God says stands. That is why Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not a man that he should lie; neither the son of man that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Ezra 1:1 says, “Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled.”

Prophet Jeremiah spoke those words about 100 years before Cyrus came to be but because the word of God will never fail nor fall to the ground without accomplishing its mission, the word God spoke that time came to pass. In John 4:46-54, a certain noble man’s son was sick. The moment the man saw Jesus, he said to Him, “Sir, come down here (to Capernaum) my child die.” Bible says Jesus answered him, “Go thy way; thy son liveth.”

May I remind you that this man travelled from Capernaum to Galilee (It would take a vehicle travelling at 60kmph 128 hours and 17 minutes, and 641.4 hours by foot if you continuously walk at the speed of 6km). The stress alone was enough to make the noble man wonder if Jesus was kidding, but Bible says, “And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.” He understood that the word of Jesus is ever unfailing. His servant confirmed that the child got healed same hour Jesus spoke.

Isa 55:11 says, “So shall my word (the word of God) be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Study the word, meditate on it and confess it and I am sure your testimony would surprise even you.

Bless you!

THE UNCHANGING WORD

August 23, 2014

Humans are not capable of saying something and staying by it forever. There is a Nigerian adage that says, “If one says his father’s house masquerade would dance and then that same person comes out to say the masquerade won’t dance again, no man can arrest him.” However, Jesus said in Matt 24:35 that, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” Jesus said in Matt 5:18 that, “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law (the Word of God), till all be fulfilled.”

Personally, I have discovered (not that someone told me) that to understand the past, present and the future, go to the Word because the Word is the same yesterday, today and forever. If only as believers, we would get busy with the Word, most of the issues that we are busy battling would be so cheap to resolve because the entrance of His word gives light and Psalm 119:105 says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Policies change, laws get amended, but the Word stands for life and the good thing is that the Word is not for the benefit of angels, but for you and I to know the things that have been freely given unto us.

The word of God stands sure no matter the situation. The Word that says you shall be the head and not the tail hasn’t changed and it won’t change. The Word that says greater is He that is in you than he that dwells in the world can and will never change. The Word that says when you pay your tithe, windows of heaven would be opened for you hasn’t and won’t change. Isa 40:8 says, “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”

Jesus said, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word.” Get busy with the Word!

SING UNTO THE LORD

August 22, 2014

Many people hardly sing unto the Lord anymore, we only do that when in church on Sundays and maybe during weekly services (for those who attend). However, throughout the rest of the week, we are always busy singing songs not unto the Lord and believe you me, whatever is not done as unto the Lord is done unto the devil. Ordinarily when a musician sings the praise of a man, he feels so important that he could go take bank loan to spray the musician. How much more, when you praise the One that owns the cattle upon a thousand hills?

Many of us find it hard to sing unto the Lord because we are busy trying to fix one issue or the other whereas in Acts 16, Bible says Paul and Silas were thrown into the innermost part of the prison and their feet cuffed so they wouldn’t be able to move. However, these two people understood that Isa 43:19 says, “Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, AND WILL HAVE MERCY UPON HIS AFFLICTED.”

They were afflicted but the moment they broke forth into singing, Bible says in verse 26 of Acts 16 that there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. Someone said, when it seems prayer is delayed, try praise. Sir/ma, I have discovered that the more you sing unto the Lord, the stronger your faith in Him because the lyrics of the song gets registered in your subconscious and when any challenge arises, that song pops out and you are assured that God has got you covered.

What is that mountain before you, forget about it and just praise God because He is bigger than any mountain you can or cannot see! Singing unto the Lord makes the bell of your faith ring out loud and clear.

Hallelujah!

RELAX

August 21, 2014

This is a very anxious generation. Almost everyone is worried about one thing or the other. The businessman is worried about sales, the head of the house (the man in most normal cases) is worried about money to feed the family, the church is worried about attendance, mothers are worried that their children might end up moving with wrong people and a lot of other issues making people become excellent and professional “worrywarts.”

However, as popularly said, worry doesn’t fix the issue, it instead blows it up because the worrier ends up having an unresolved issue, high blood pressure and fear. The scripture says in Matt 6:27 that, “which one of you can by worrying add one cubit to his stature?” Verse 31 says, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘what shall we eat?’ or ‘what shall we drink?’ or ‘what shall we wear?” All you need do is relax because your heavenly Father knows what your needs are already.

Someone is saying, Henrylong, you don’t get it, I am not worried about food or clothing or water, my own issue is bigger than that. Well, let me tell you what God said in 1 John 4:4, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them (name it!), because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” In order words, no matter how big that issue is, you have OVERCOME. All you need do is do away with that unnecessary worry and accept what Jesus did for you by faith. The victory of Christ is your own victory.

I understand it could be very hard to relax when the creditor has threatened court action or when the landlord has given you quit notice or the doctor has said one terrible thing, but you need to understand that Jesus died that you might live, He became poor that you might be rich and by His stripes you are healed! Sir/ma, have worry not, because God is in total control if you would have faith in Him.

Remain blessed!
