Vision is a
picture of your future from the present.
It means seeing the end from the beginning. Vision is a discovery of God’s
plan as it relates to your life. Without vision, confusion is inevitable. A man without a vision is no different from a
blind man. Pro 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he
that keepeth the law, happy is he.”
George Barna
defines Vision as a clear mental image of a preferable future, imparted by God
to His chosen and is based upon an accurate understanding of God, self and
circumstance. In order words, vision is God given and man driven. Where do you
see yourself in twenty years?
However, no
matter how colorful your vision in life is, it must be written down. Hab 2:2 says,
“And the LORD answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon
tables, that he may run that readeth it.” When God was going to give uncle Moses the ten
commandments, God could have decided to read them to him and have him go recite
to the children of Israel, but God knew that whatever that is not written can
be forgotten.
Have you ever
written down to-do list for a particular day, and at about 4pm, you realize
that you still have some open items; at that point, no other thing matters than
closing those open items. Imagine if you had not written them down. That is the same thing with writing down your
vision; it keeps you on your toes. As you are seeing it, you are always running
with it.
Jokingly I tell
people that to be seen on the television, you must have a vision. Hab 2:3 says,
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak,
and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will
not tarry.” Your vision will come to fruition in Jesus Name. Amen!
