SEASON OF GOOD NEWS

September 30, 2013

Prov 25:25 says, “As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.” In the book of Numbers 13, we read of a story of how some men were chosen to go search out the land of Canaan. 80% of the men that went came back and said, “the land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”

As a result of this bad news, Bible says in Numb 14:1 that the entire congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. The bad report was so disturbing that the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!” Suddenly they thought it best to return to Egpyt. At this point, Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.”

Brother Job was relaxing at home with his workers in the field when suddenly someone came to inform him that his oxen have been taken away. It got so bad that Job was getting evil report on a per minute basis. However, at the end of the day, with a day of good news, his fatness and wealth got restored.

I have come to tell someone this morning that your season of evil report has ended. Prov 15:30b says, “and a good report maketh the bones fat.” Thank God you made it to today because today marks the beginning of your season of good news in Jesus Name.

YOU SHALL RECOVER ALL

September 29, 2013

In 1 Samuel chapter 30, we read of the story of when the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way. David’s two wives were not left out.” As a result of this, David and the people that were with him cried until they had no more power to weep.

David quickly went to God to inquire of the next line of action, and the Lord told him to pursue them. God told David he would overtake them and recover all without fail. I don’t know what you have lost to the enemy, I don’t care how expensive or precious it might be to you, I am come to declare to you today that you shall recover all in Jesus Name.

In 2 Kings 6:5, while falling a beam, the axe head fell into water. The young man cried, Alas, Master, for it was borrowed. He thought all hope was lost. He felt he was done for, but the God that never leaves nor forsakes rose up to the occasion and a stick did the job of a magnet. Sir, I don’t care how difficult it might be for you to recover all that you have lost, I decree in the name of Jesus that you shall recover all that you have lost in Jesus Name.

Job lost all. However, the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. He did not just recover all; he recovered in grand style and multiple folds. There shall be a recovery of health, wealth, glory, honor and blessings in Jesus Name. You shall recover lost opportunities in Jesus Name. You shall recover all your divine benefits in Jesus Name. Welcome to your season of all round recovery!

PAYDAY IS COMING

September 28, 2013

Gal 6:7 says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” In the system of the world, for every genuine employee of any organization, there is always a payday. Bible says there is a time to sow and a time to reap. Everything in our life is a seed – our thoughts, prayers, words, and actions.

My father retired as a school head and I still remember very well, how other teachers would come to him and ask him, “when are we going to be through?” I found it hard to understand at first but later knew they were referring to payday. Gal 6:9 says, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

Maybe you have prayed, you have sowed, you have shown mercy unto those that needed it and yet you still do not see things changing. Excuse me sir, things may not look like they are changing, but your “due season” is closer than you can ever imagine if you quit not. Don’t grow weary, don’t grow faint, keep on keeping on because PAYDAY IS COMING.

Psa 62:5 says, “My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.” Pro 23:18 says, “For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.” This is not the time to give up. This is not the time to quit. You cannot afford to quit now. If you will not give up, nor cave in, nor cast away your confidence, then your payday is at hand.

God is a great book keeper, He sure knows when you are due, so you keep on resuming for duty and working as you are told, and when the time to be paid is due, God will pay you accordingly. For a user of this devotional, rejoice because payday has finally come!

HOLD ON

September 27, 2013

Have you ever called the customer care center of a telecommunication service provider and you were asked to hold on while your call is transferred to the next available agent? Sometimes the holding on period might be more than 5 minutes, but you still keep on holding on all because you have an issue and you need it resolved.

There is a story in 1 Samuel 1 about Aunty Hannah. She was her husband’s delight, but she was barren. The other wife was productive and had her own children, and as a result she started mocking Hannah. However, Bible says in verse 7 of that chapter that Hannah year by year went up to the house of the Lord. She held on to her God.

How many times have you had to want to just run away from those challenges? many times have you had to ask yourself if truly God cares? Sometimes we are so weighed down by life’s challenges that we just want to run away or just discard the dream of a big and beautiful life, however, running away does not take away the challenge, sometimes it magnifies it.

No matter what you are going through, hold on to Jesus. That man said, “I will not let thee go, until thou bless me.” He was too determined to be distracted. Heb 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;).” Excuse me sir, there are wonderful promises for you and I from God, but patience is key. Uncle Job could have cursed God and die, but He knew perfectly well that he that holds on to God, never ever gets disappointed.

I understand you have been holding on for a while now, but please hold on for a little while more. Your testimony is around the corner. Don’t give up on God, He has never disappointed before and He won’t start with you.

REWARDING SERVICE

September 26, 2013

The scripture says in 1 Cor 3:8 that, “Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.” For every labor and service rendered, there is always a reward. Someone said money is a reward for a service rendered. Some organizations have some packages, asides the normal salary package, which is always being given to their employees at the end of the year to show appreciation for their services rendered.

One thing I have discovered however is that, no matter how great and rewarding your employer may be, their reward can never be compared to the reward you get serving God. Exo 23:25 says, “And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.” What a rewarding service. Your employer can reward you with free medical treatment, but the Lord God rewards by taking sickness away.

Serving God is the most rewarding service on earth and the only service that has a heavenly reward. Pharaoh was destroyed because he refused to allow the people of God serve Him. God is committed to defending only His people.

Deut 11:13-14 says, “And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.”

Friends, serve God with everything on the inside of you; your talent; your time; your money and even your entire body. Be enlisted into God’s workforce and your reward shall be massive here on earth and when we get to heaven.

GIVE THANKS ANYHOW

September 25, 2013

A lot of us go through life everyday complaining about one thing or the other; no money; not enough money; dry weather; stormy weather; stubborn children; unloving husband; rude wife; low paying job etc. One thing that I don’t have to be a prophet to know is that there are one million and one things to complain about.

This attitude has so much eaten deep into us that we sometimes refuse to give God thanks for the tiniest thing like being able to eat; use the toilet, sleep and wake up; use the mouth to talk and all – we feel, it is a normal thing. Excuse me sir, it is not normal for some people. Recently, my pastor shared a story of a man that had a pipe passed through his nostrils just so he could be fed and you use your mouth to eat anyhow, yet you see no reason why you should give Him thanks.

One way or the other, you have moved forward. You are better. Millions didn’t make if to today, but you are one of those who did. You might be roaming the street as a jobseeker; thank God you are not roaming the street as a mad man. If you can think very well, you would realize that one way or the other, God has done something for you. Some wish they could read; some wish they could talk; some wish they could hear; you can see, talk, hear and even much more – sir, if you refuse to thank God, then you are an ingrate.

The attitude of thanking God today guarantees a better tomorrow. Stop seeing what God has not done; start seeing what He has done. Can you buy your life in the market? Bible says in all things, give thanks. No matter what you are going through; give thanks anyhow. Appreciate God for being faithful unto you despite your unfaithfulness.

May your thanks be acceptable in Jesus Name. Amen!

FAITH GROWS

September 24, 2013

A certain man weighing about 55kg decided to go for body building exercises. On his first day in the gym, the coach decided to start him up with a 15kg weight, however, this man felt embarrassed, saying his wife weighed almost 75kg and he carried her almost everytime. He requested the coach started him up with atleast 50kg weight in order to hasten his body building dream. The coach granted his wish. Sir, this man could not even lift it more than once before begging the gym instructor to come help take it away.

In the scripture, faith has levels. When the disciples found it difficult to cast out a dumb spirit out of a man’s son, Jesus called them in Mark 9:19, “O faithless generation.” In Matt 8:26, the disciples were called, “O ye of little faith.” Their frustration began when they heard Jesus say to the centurion in Matt 8:10 that he had great faith. in Luke 17:5, they burst out and said, “Lord, increase our faith.”

They were tired of seeing things happen for others while they that were of the household of faith could not record a single act of faith. Some of us have prayed that prayer at one point or the other in our life, yet, our faith level did not rise. Sir, faith grows by hearing and applying the word of God. If you have never heard from the word of God that He is Jehovah Jireh, it would be difficult for you to trust Him to provide for you.

Many get frustrated because they think God can be used. Hello, God is a principled God and to enjoy Him, His principles must be followed. Bible says faith without works is dead. Like muscles that grow bigger through use, faith grows bigger also through application.

The moment your faith can take care of your headache, then you would be sure it would take care of your backache and so on. Exercise your faith and it shall grow.

DON’T GIVE UP HOPE

September 23, 2013

There is a saying that when there is life, there is hope. However, when there is no hope, there is no life. Hope makes living interesting; after all, there can be no manifestation without expectation.

In Luke 8:43, we read of a woman with twelve years issue of blood. Her case was so critical that she had spent all her money on physicians, yet she was not getting better. However, one interesting thing about the woman was that she never gave up. She kept hoping, until one day she had an encounter with Jesus. Sir, I urge you, please don’t give up hope, your encounter with the Savior is closer than you can ever imagine.

In John 5:5, we also read of a man, which had an infirmity for thirty eight years. We are not sure at what age the man got to the pool side, but his impotency had lasted thirty eight years. To make matters worse for this man, for him to be healed, he had to be the first to step into the pool whenever an angel troubled it, of which, other people were always stepping into the pool before him. Yet, this man never gave up, he kept on hoping and one day, he had an encounter with the Master Healer and he got his healing. Ma, hold on a little while, help is on the way for you.

My brothers and sisters, Job 11:18 says, “And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope.” Job 14:7 says, “For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.” Brother Job never gave up on hope. You might not be where you want to be, that is no excuse to want to give up, hold on a little while because, you case is receiving heaven’s attention.

Never ever give up hope. You shall sing for joy very soon in Jesus Name. Amen!

MIND YOUR PROFESSION

September 22, 2013

There is a story in the Bible when Jesus and His disciples were come to Capernaum, that they that received tax for the government came to ask Peter, if Jesus was exempted from paying tithe? Jesus knowing that the tax collectors were looking for an excuse to accuse Him, quickly told Peter in Matt 17:27 that, “go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.”

Excuse me sir, why didn’t Jesus ask Peter to go into the bush and that the first rat that comes his way would have money in his mouth? Jesus did not do that because He knew that Peter was no hunter, but a fisherman. Jesus would have asked Peter to go fetch a rat had Peter was a hunter. My brothers and sisters, your place of provision is in your profession. Prov 22:29 says, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” A friend of mine said if an armed robber is diligent, he shall rob a palace.

My friend, become diligent in your business. Mind your profession. Forget the size of your business right now, every big businesses started small. Play your part by becoming an expert at what you do.

I have come to understand that God will bless you out of the work of your hands. It was very easy and convenient for God to give Jacob the idea of how to get speckled animals because Jacob was into cattle business. Ma, no man can give you more than what your profession will fetch you. There is a Yoruba adage that says, “A man’s palm doesn’t deceive the man.” In order words, a man would be satisfied by the work of his hands. Your hands are blessed in Jesus Name. Amen!

WALKING BY FAITH

September 21, 2013

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you are climbing the stair at night and suddenly light goes out? In that case, you start climbing the stair anyhow. Sometimes you climb two stairs at once and some other times, you even close your eyes and just climb anyhow without minding anything – you just climb!

In the physical world, you need your sight to walk, but in the spiritual world, you need your faith to walk and we all know that the spiritual controls the physical. 2 Cor 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” Walking by faith is what makes a man clear his account just to finance God’s business because he is assured that God will supply of his needs not according to his salary or income, but according to God’s own riches in glory through Christ. Walking by faith means “moving ahead in confidence, even when you can’t see around the next corner.”

Abraham was asked to go sacrifice his only son, however, on their way to the place of sacrifice, Isaac asked, “Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” Abraham said, “God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering.” Before then, there was no lamb discussion between Abraham and God, but when father Abraham kept walking towards Moriah without a lamb but just a very very calm son, God knew He had to do something before someone commit murder.

Walking by faith means doing away with the natural sight and seeing with the eyes of your spirit. When you walk by faith, you are assured of the truth that you are walking with Christ because He is the Author and the Finisher of our faith and your gaze is fixed on Him alone. Sir, you are in this world but not of this world, so stop walking by sight like the worldly people do and start walking by faith.

LIVING BY FAITH

September 20, 2013

Faith is a supernatural virtue which disposes our natural intelligence. I have people who are doing what is known as living by faith. To them, they are trusting God totally to supply their financial needs. As a matter of fact, I have discovered that most people use the phrase “I am living by faith” as it relates to God’s provision.

It is easy to live by faith when all things are going well; when the bills are paid on time; when the car is running well; when there are no crises; no heartache; no headache and no pain. However, what happens when the going gets tough; when the month is just beginning and all accounts are red with no sight of any income coming in anytime soon; when suddenly a loved one is taken away from us. I mean times when our faith is tested.

Heb 10:38a says, “Now the just shall live by faith.” In order words, not yesterday, not any other day, but now! The people of the world live by sight, but the just shall live by faith. In order words, even though there is no physical sight of help coming my way, I am so certain that God is cooking up something for me. We always ought to live by faith in all areas of our life. There is nothing too small or too big to trust God for.

God will make a way where there seems to be no way, but it takes faith to walk the way. Living by faith is a command that we all must abide with if we truly want to enjoy the best of God because Heb 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

As you live by faith, your testimony shall convert souls into God’s kingdom in Jesus Name. Amen!

ACT IN FAITH -2

September 19, 2013

Years ago, I saw a Nissan Altima 1998 model. I fell in love in with it and since then I started wishing for it. However, it did not come despite my holy and rugged wishing. So I decided to change my approach. I went to get a Nissan car key holder and I put my post office box key (it looks like a car key) on the key hold to appear like a car owner.

Suddenly, someone just came to me that there was a Nissan Altima, 2003 model that was available for sale. Before I could finish spelling my name, God got the car for me. So I moved from forming a car owner with a post office box key to being a real car owner.

Sir, your miracle is a product of your act of faith. Heb 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” What have you been asking God all these while, take a step of faith in the direction of your desire. It takes faith to receive from God. You don’t have to see it; you just have to believe it. It might not look like it; you just must believe if truly want to experience God’s miracle. It is a divine mystery that works.

Sir, for a man of faith, there is nothing called closed door or no vacancy. Your act of faith is what would make God break protocols concerning you. A young man applied for job in another organization and after his interview, he wrote faith resignation from his current organization and faith offer of employment from the new one. His faith was too stubborn to be dissuaded, and because God would always honor your steps of faith, the man got the job and resigned accordingly from the other one.

As you act in faith in the direction of your desire, heaven will open and your expectations shall become manifestations in Jesus Name. Amen!

ACT IN FAITH

September 18, 2013

One night a house caught fire and a young boy was forced to flee to the roof as that was the only available exit point. The father stood on the ground below with outstretched arms, calling to his son, “Jump, I will catch you.” the father knew that the only saving grace the boy had was to jump. All the boy could see , however, was flame, smoke, and blackness.

As you can imagine, he was afraid to leave the roof. His father kept yelling, “Jump, I will catch you. Don’t you trust me? Stop been fearful and just jump.” The boy protested, “Daddy, I can’t see you.” The angry father screamed, “But I can see you and that is all that matters.” Unfortunately the boy did not jump, and he was caught up in flames only to be rescued by firemen minutes later.

Some of us are like the little boy; we see God as sometimes unrealistic. Come to think of it, how would a supernatural being tell a natural man to walk on water? However, whether it was possible before then or not, Peter’s experienced proved to us that with faith, the sky is not the limit, but the starting point.

My brothers and sisters, God has great plans in stock for you. He wants to bless you. He wants you to move up higher. He wants to change your level. But, all these won’t happen automatically, you must play your part. The part you have to play is to act in faith. Don’t just pray alone, worship and thank God for answers – that’s a step of faith.

I once applied for admission somewhere and before the list came out, I had already written my own faith admission letter and that made it easier for me to bag the admission. Don’t just speak to your mountain, move towards it and I pray that every step of faith you take from today will receive divine backing in Jesus Name. Amen

SPEAK TO IT

September 17, 2013

One of the vital parts of our bodies is the mouth, in that it houses the tongue and as the scripture put it, “the tongue is a little member of the body, but it can set a whole city on fire.” Someone said that, “you are your own prophet.” He said if anyone says unto you, “you are cursed,” look at the person and say, “I am too blessed to be cursed.”

Mar 11:23 says, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Mountains are hindrances to our breakthroughs. However, we have been given a secret code to use in removing whatever mountain like problems we might be encountering – speak to it.

When Jesus was talking in Mar 11:23, He knew quite well that not all believers would tap into the secret of speaking to their mountains, which was why He said, “whosoever.” Sir/ma, if you won’t speak to your mountain, it will keep expanding. Num 11:28 says, “Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you.”

It takes no effort to talk, but it takes a lot of effort to speak. To speak to your mountain, you must believe. The reason why blind Bartimaeus got his healing was because despite the fact that he spoke out, he believed. If you do not believe, no matter how often you say it, you will not receive it.

God is ready to promote you, but you must speak your desires out in faith, not wavering at all. People might see you as a fool, but don’t you dare stop, as long as you believe, keep saying what you desire of God and your expectations shall not be cut short in Jesus Name. Amen!

COME UNTO ME

September 16, 2013

Mt 11:28-30 says, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” This one Scripture alone could answer all the problems in the world. It would solve the failures in the life of every person who turns back from following God. Coming to the Lord will bring victory in any person’s life.

Several years ago, the Wall Street Journal carried a story about Sally, an overly conscientious youngster who made herself miserable over the smallest failures and setbacks. Early one fall, while the leaves were still on the trees, there was an exceptionally heavy snowstorm.

Sally’s grandfather took her for a drive and said, "Notice those elms; the branches are so badly broken that the trees may die. But, just look at those pines and evergreens. They are completely undamaged by the storm. My child, there are two kinds of trees in the world, the foolish and the wise. An elm holds its branches rigid. As it becomes weighted down, eventually its limbs break. But when an evergreen is loaded, it simply relaxes, lowers its branches, and lets the burden slip away. And so it remains unharmed.”

Christians who give up all their cares to the Lord can face life’s burdens better than those who try to bear the weight themselves. Hello, your strength is limited, but you have a Father whose strength is limitless and He is saying to you today; come unto me if you want rest. You need rest in all areas of your life. No man can give you rest. The only source of rest available is the Almighty God.

However, God is not a hungry quack doctor who goes about knocking on doors looking for patients. You must play your part, and your part is to come unto Him. Take all your worries to Him. He is solution personified. No matter how big your burden is, God is bigger. Pray with me, “Father, I come unto you today, attend to my case in Jesus Name.”

CALL UNTO ME

September 16, 2013

Sometimes ago, I was in need of something so I quickly put a call through to someone who I was certain had the solution in his hands. He told me, “S end me your account number.” I hurriedly sent my account number in expectation of a bank alert. Well, I am happy to inform you that since then, I am yet to hear from the person.

Also, recently, I was preparing for something that was somewhat money intensive. I had it figured out how I was going to generate the money, so I started making calls to different people. Most of them promised to call back. I am still waiting for their call backs. I have realized that naturally as humans, whenever a need arises or something is at stake, we feel comfortable calling upon a man forgetting that they are also humans like us and they are wired to disappoint.

The man at the pool of Bethesda clearly made this clear when he told Jesus, “Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.” His gaze was fixed on a man rather on God. Jer 33:3 says, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

The same way you are always quick to call a friend whenever you need something or you need to make a decision, God is saying, call me! Humans can ignore your call or even reject it, but the Almighty God is saying whenever you call; I will answer and I will now show you great and mighty secrets that you need know for you to move forward in life.

Our God neither sleeps nor slumbers, so in the morning, call; in the noon time, call; in the middle of the night, call; while driving, call; in the bathroom, call. If you call not, He will answer not. I pray today that every time you call on God, He will answer you speedily in Jesus Name. Amen!

WRITE THE VISION

September 14, 2013

Vision is a picture of your future from the present.  It means seeing the end from the beginning. Vision is a discovery of God’s plan as it relates to your life. Without vision, confusion is inevitable.  A man without a vision is no different from a blind man. Pro 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”

George Barna defines Vision as a clear mental image of a preferable future, imparted by God to His chosen and is based upon an accurate understanding of God, self and circumstance. In order words, vision is God given and man driven. Where do you see yourself in twenty years?

However, no matter how colorful your vision in life is, it must be written down. Hab 2:2 says, “And the LORD answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”  When God was going to give uncle Moses the ten commandments, God could have decided to read them to him and have him go recite to the children of Israel, but God knew that whatever that is not written can be forgotten.

Have you ever written down to-do list for a particular day, and at about 4pm, you realize that you still have some open items; at that point, no other thing matters than closing those open items. Imagine if you had not written them down.  That is the same thing with writing down your vision; it keeps you on your toes. As you are seeing it, you are always running with it.

Jokingly I tell people that to be seen on the television, you must have a vision. Hab 2:3 says, “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Your vision will come to fruition in Jesus Name. WHAT IS IN YOUR HANDS

September 13, 2013

One of the things that I have personally discovered with our God is that before He blesses, there must be something in your hand. God would bless what is in your hands. Before the 5000 people got fed, there was bread and fish in the hands of a little boy. The handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse was what God needed from the widow of Zarephath before she could enjoy the fullness of God.

Deu 28:12 says, “The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand.” I am bold to say that God does not love lazy people. 2Th 3:10 says, “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”

God is interested in blessing His people. As a matter of truth, it doesn’t do God any good keeping His blessings up there; He needs them not! But you must work at it. Deu 28:8 says, “The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto.”

Hello my friend, find something to do with your hands. Abraham worked. Isaac worked. Jacob worked. David worked. We were even made to understand that between Jesus’ age 12 and 30; He worked in Joseph’s carpentry workshop. Before Peter got called into ministry, he had a day job. God’s blessings don’t come upon lazy hands, they come upon working hands.

Ecc 9:10 says, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” In order words, stop waiting for the perfect job to come, start somewhere; start something. Remember that faith without works is dead.

I pray for you today that whatsoever you do with your hands shall prosper in Jesus Name. Amen!

POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST

                                                             September 12, 2013

Acts 1:8 says, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”  Without the Holy Spirit, a man is just a shell without any content; or a phone casing without the real gadget inside. The Holy Spirit is our source of spiritual energy needed to be who God has made us to be.

Spiritual power is the divine energy God is willing to express in and through us and the divine authority needed to carry out the work God has called us to do. We cannot "harness" the power of the Holy Spirit. This power is not just for preachers, evangelists, or people who work in special ministry; rather, it is available to every believer who willingly surrenders moment by moment in submission and obedience to the Holy Spirit.

We cannot have the power of the Spirit in order to use God; rather we experience His power when we surrender to be used by Him. God releases His power through us as we walk in obedience to Him. This He does through the fruit of the Spirit, God's power and only God's power enables us to exhibit love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, which reveal the character of Christ in us.

The Holy Spirit Is also our empowerment for the task we are called to do.  Zech 4:6 says, “Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”  God will not place you into a position or ask you to accomplish a task for which He will not fully equip and enable you.

As you fully surrender unto God, may you be a carrier of the power of the Holy in Jesus Name. Amen!

NEW CREATURE

September 11, 2013

2 Cor. 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” What a mighty promise. However, failure to understand what it means to be a new creature would hinder our faith life.

We were not saved for forgiveness of sins alone; we were saved for total makeover, which is why the scripture says that all things are become new.  Many people think God just forgave them of their sins. No, we are not just forgiven, we are new creatures. God forgave us, and on top of that gave us a new live. With the new live came new mentalities, new promises, new convictions and new beliefs. All things are become new!

We are no more living on the Barely Get-Along Street; beside the Struggle & Grumble Close. No! We are new creatures. We have the life of Christ on the inside of us. We are joint heirs with Christ. We are now a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that we should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Because you are in Christ, eternal life automatically becomes your portion. 1 John 5:13 says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” Gal 6:15 says, “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.”

However, it is worthy of note, that to enjoy that newness which is available on a daily basis, we must abide in Christ, and as we do so, we shall enjoy newness of Christ forever in Jesus Name. Amen!

GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH

September 10, 2013

1Ti 6:12 says, “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” Someone once said, “I am seriously praying that God will give me faith.” I almost said, “you are wasting your time” only for the age difference which made me shut my mouth.

Rom 12:3c says, “According as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” The truth is that for every believer on planet earth, we all have a certain measure of faith, but some do not know they do have because they have failed to release it or develop it. if a believer doesn’t develop his faith, it will be weak. If you have never used your faith to claim healing from headache, it would be difficult to use it claim healing from typhoid.

Weak faith is not caused by any other thing, other than lack of knowledge of God’s words, faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Rom 10:17). The only way to increase your level of faith is only through the word of God. You cannot act upon the word of God beyond the knowledge you have of it. If you do not know that your bank gives mortgage loan, you will never be able to benefit.

If your faith is not growing, then your understanding of the word is not growing. Do not forget that the devil does not want your faith level to rise, as such you must fight the good fight of faith. Keep the word of God on the inside of you. A lack of knowledge of the word of God will give the devil easy access to put you in bondage, because he knows you know not the truth and according to the scripture, only the truth (the word of God) makes free.

Stop saying you don’t have time to read the word of God, create the time. If you want to enjoy God, you must have faith, and faith is accessible only through the word of God.

OVERCOMING OBSTACLES

September 9, 2013

Obstacles are barriers or hindrances that stop from moving forward. God gave the children of Israel a wonderful promise – the promise land, but there were several obstacles. They went through the wilderness, they faced natural obstacles - red sea, river Jordan, hunger, thirst, then there were physical obstacles – enemies, giants living in Canaan etc.

We all face different kind of obstacles during our journey to destiny fulfillment. We sometimes find it easier quitting than going on. The children of Israel saw the size of their obstacles – no water, red sea in front, Egyptians at the back, and because of these, they grumbled. They even told Moses, why didn’t you just leave us alone in Egypt that you have now brought us to this place to kill us.

But, one thing that I have come to discover is that no matter the obstacle in front of us, we have been equipped to overcome. John 16:33 says, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” We have a very big God who is too big to fail; too strong to be defeated and too powerful to be ridiculed. 1 Jhn 4:4 says, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

I don’t care what your own barrier is, what I have come to tell you this day is that the same God that fell the wall of Jericho and parted the red sea is not dead, as such, your barrier is too small for Him to remove. As big and terrible the obstacle in front of the children of Israel was, God showed Himself bigger. Every obstacle on your way to the next level shall be removed in Jesus Name. Amen!
