In 1 Kings 18, after about three years of
drought as decreed by Prophet Elijah, God asked the prophet to go inform Ahab
that there shall be rain. As he was praying, there arose a little cloud out of
the sea, like a man's hand. And Elijah said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy
chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
The man quickly rode away. However, the
hand of the Lord rested upon Elijah and he outran Ahab’s chariot. Can you
imagine a prophet getting to Lagos from Ibadan by foot before someone riding in
a Ford Edge SUV with zero traffic on the express? God’s ability is limitless
and unsearchable. He is the one that can do the “impossicant” (can’t be
possible).
In Dan 3, the three Hebrew boys were asked
to bow and worship a graven image but they refused. To this, they were told they
shall be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace where no god can
deliver. The boys said, “If it be so, our own God whom we serve is able to
deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine
hand, O king.” Wow! When God heard this statement, He had to come down to make
the fiery furnace a cold room for the boys.
When David faced Goliath, he said, “This
day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take
thine head from thee.” Upon hearing this, God proved Himself faithful and
delivered Goliath into David’s hand.
God is able to heal, deliver, promote,
lift, uphold, enlarge, protect and provide. There is nothing too difficult for
God. He is reliably able. He is dependably capable. Trust Him completely and
you shall not be put to shame. Depend on Him, and Him alone and He will come to
your aid. He doesn’t disappoint, so hold on tight.
