Apostle Paul said in 2 Cor 5:8 that “We are
confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be
present with the Lord.” One of the things I have come to understand as a
believer is that if there is a place that a child of God should always desire
and clamour to be – that is the presence of the Lord.
Moses tarried in the presence of the Lord on
Mount Sinai for a very long time that the moment he came down his face was
shining. Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses all became afraid to
come nigh him. When you tarry in the presence of the Lord, you become a
transformed man. When you carry His presence around, men would desire your
presence.
The one that carries the presence of God
can stand before any man. In His presence, you are assured of insight,
revelation and direction. The reason why many of us miss it in life is because we
prefer to abide in the presence of man than before God. God told Exo 33:14 that
presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest, as a result of that
presence, a new covenant was made with the children of Israel.
One of the most dangerous things is to go
away from the presence of the Lord. Jon 1:13 says, “But Jonah rose up to flee
unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he
found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into
it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.” You know what
happened to him.
God wants to bless you; promote you; lift
you up; market you to your world; but you must abide in His presence day and
night. Abide through worship, prayer, meditation and study of His word and your
life shall shine.
