BE KIND

October 31, 2013

In the book of Joshua 6:25, Bible says, “And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.” Rahab was kind towards the men that went to spy the land in Joshua 2. She protected them by hiding them in the roof of her house and also let them down by a cord through the window.

In the book of 2Kings 4:8-37, a certain woman in Shunem persuaded Elisha to eat some food and as often as he passed. At a point, the woman told her husband, “Let us even give this man a permanent room in our house that whenever he is in town, he stays in there.” As a result of this woman’s kindness, she gave birth even after losing hope. And even when the baby died, Elisha ensured the baby came back to life.

In 2 Sam 9:7, Bible says, “And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.” Mephibosheth’s status changed because of the kindness of his father towards David.

Kindness creates a smooth path for favor and honor to travel. You might not benefit today, but it might be that your act of kindness today is what would save your child’s life tomorrow. Prov 3:27 says, “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.” Eph 4:32 says, “And be ye kind one to another.”

As much as possible, look for an opportunity to show kindness unto someone today and as you do so, God Almighty will reward you exceedingly in Jesus Name. Amen!

SPEAK LIFE

October 30, 2013

Prov 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” There is power in spoken words. The entire universe was made from words. Whatever God said came to existence. And remember you and I were made in the image of God, so we have the mind of God on the inside of us which also gives our words creative powers.

Bishop David Oyedepo shared a story of when he used to be poor, but he kept on screaming and shouting, “It is too late for me to be poor.” You can imagine someone without any asset so to say, shouting that on top of his voice even in public. It was hard for people to understand what he was saying, but God understood and made it happen. Is it not too late already for him to be poor?

Watch what comes out of your mouth very well, but most importantly watch what enters and stays in your heart, because out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. You speak your thoughts. And the moment your thoughts and your words align, something happens. Scripture says, be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order words, without a renewed mind, your life will not be transformed because your utterances would always be in disagreement with your desires.

Stop speaking death and destruction over your destiny. Call those things which be not as though they were and they shall be. Mar 11:23 says, “That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”

The blood of Jesus will wipe off every effect of every negative utterance that has gone out of your mouth into your future and also affecting your today in Jesus Name. Amen!

GOD’S MERCY

October 29, 2013

In the book of Mark chapter 8, Jesus saw the multitudes that have been following Him for almost three days without any food. He was moved with compassion and told the disciples to go get food for the people to eat. After much deliberation, the disciples got seven loaves of bread and few small fishes. This was enough to make Jesus have the people go get themselves food in the city, but because of mercy, four thousand people were fed with seven loaves of bread and few fishes and there were seven extra baskets left.

A candidate of God’s mercy is a candidate for glory. Mercy overrules protocol. Mercy makes the “never has this happened before” happen. Mercy brings to existence newness. Mercy suspends the norm. The moment blind Bartimaeus heard that Jesus of Nazareth was in town, he began to cry out, and say, “Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.” Despite the rate at which people were asking him to keep quiet, he kept shouting and crying and screaming, “Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.”

The cry of mercy makes the ear of God tingle. The moment Jesus heard the cry, Bible says, Jesus stood still and gave the  blind man a blank check - What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? As a result of mercy, the woman in Matt 15 stopped eating crumbs and started eating the original.

The mercy of God is one of the channels through which God’s blessings locate us faster than usual. The mercy of God is not a product of your works or righteousness; it is solely dependent on God. Heb 8:12 says, “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” Many miracles performed by Jesus were borne out of mercy not as a result of the righteousness of the recipients.

Father, I ask today that You have mercy on me today.

DECREE A THING

October 28, 2013

In the book of 1KINGS 17:1, Bible says, “And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.” As a result of that statement, there was no rain for three years.

Job 22:28 says, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.” Prov 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Your mouth is a power house. It houses your tongue that can be used to either bring about death or life.

If your refuse to decree to your situation, no matter your degree in life, you will keep on struggling with that situation. Num 14:28 says, “Say unto them,  As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you.” What are you saying in the ears of God? A closed mouth is a closed destiny.

In the valley of dry bones, God told the man, open your mouth and decree that these bones would receive the breath of God and they shall live, that sinews, flesh and skin shall cover them and there shall be breath of life in them. No matter how dead or dry that situation is, your mouth has been empowered to bring life to it.

However, it is worthy of note that he whose mouth shall decree a thing and it shall stand shall be he whose mouth is clean and whose heart is pure. Holiness sanctifies your tongue and makes it potent. Iniquity makes your decree noisy babbles. Every decree that comes out of a holy mouth gets established!

Have a testimony-filled day!

MY GOD IS ABLE

October 25, 2013

In 1 Kings 18, after about three years of drought as decreed by Prophet Elijah, God asked the prophet to go inform Ahab that there shall be rain. As he was praying, there arose a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And Elijah said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.

The man quickly rode away. However, the hand of the Lord rested upon Elijah and he outran Ahab’s chariot. Can you imagine a prophet getting to Lagos from Ibadan by foot before someone riding in a Ford Edge SUV with zero traffic on the express? God’s ability is limitless and unsearchable. He is the one that can do the “impossicant” (can’t be possible).

In Dan 3, the three Hebrew boys were asked to bow and worship a graven image but they refused. To this, they were told they shall be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace where no god can deliver. The boys said, “If it be so, our own God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.” Wow! When God heard this statement, He had to come down to make the fiery furnace a cold room for the boys.

When David faced Goliath, he said, “This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee.” Upon hearing this, God proved Himself faithful and delivered Goliath into David’s hand.

God is able to heal, deliver, promote, lift, uphold, enlarge, protect and provide. There is nothing too difficult for God. He is reliably able. He is dependably capable. Trust Him completely and you shall not be put to shame. Depend on Him, and Him alone and He will come to your aid. He doesn’t disappoint, so hold on tight.

THE FEAR OF GOD

October 24, 2013

2 Kings 17:39 says, “But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.” One of the secret of taking delivery of God’s promises for us is through the fear of God. Fear of God is the idea of living in respect, awe and submission to God. Prov 8:13 defines the fear of God as hatred for evil, pride, arrogance, evil way, and the froward mouth.

The fear of God is your pathway to accessing God’s wisdom as stated in Prov 9:10. The fear of God gives you access to His secrets – Psa 25:14. Psa 34:7 says that for everyone that fears God, the angel of the Lord encamps round about them and delivers them. Hezekiah’s fear of God made God repent of His evil which he has pronounced against him.

Prov 22:4 says, “By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honor, and life.” In order words, the man that would live long in riches and honor must be the man that fear God. Man is not to be feared, but God and God alone. 1 Sam 2:6 says, “The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.”

However, many of us fear our parents, employers and authorities over us more than we fear God. This ought not to be so. Humans are to be respected and God is to be feared. Prov 16:6 says, “And by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.” Obeying God’s commandments becomes easy when you fear God. When you have the fear of God, it would be very difficult for you to rob God by not paying your tithe. The fear of God would stop you from cheating on your spouse.

May the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD rest mightily upon you, from henceforth in Jesus Name. Amen!

HIS PRESENCE

October 23, 2013

Apostle Paul said in 2 Cor 5:8 that “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” One of the things I have come to understand as a believer is that if there is a place that a child of God should always desire and clamour to be – that is the presence of the Lord.

Moses tarried in the presence of the Lord on Mount Sinai for a very long time that the moment he came down his face was shining. Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses all became afraid to come nigh him. When you tarry in the presence of the Lord, you become a transformed man. When you carry His presence around, men would desire your presence.

The one that carries the presence of God can stand before any man. In His presence, you are assured of insight, revelation and direction. The reason why many of us miss it in life is because we prefer to abide in the presence of man than before God. God told Exo 33:14 that presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest, as a result of that presence, a new covenant was made with the children of Israel.

One of the most dangerous things is to go away from the presence of the Lord. Jon 1:13 says, “But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.” You know what happened to him.

God wants to bless you; promote you; lift you up; market you to your world; but you must abide in His presence day and night. Abide through worship, prayer, meditation and study of His word and your life shall shine.

HOLY GHOST EMPOWERMENT

October 22, 2013

In Luke 24:49, Jesus said, “And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” Failure is assured when you go out in your own power. However, when you are endued with the power of the Holy Ghost, you set a record that the people of the world would never be able to break.

In Luke 4:14, “And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.” The ministry of Jesus was so powerful on earth because in Luke 3:22, the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased and from then henceforth, Jesus was full of the Holy Ghost and was led by the Holy Ghost even into the wilderness.

Uncle Peter was the timid disciple who denied Jesus three times, but the moment the Holy Ghost descended on him, Bible says he spoke the word of God with boldness. The Holy Ghost is our comforter, teacher, director, promoter, enabler, financier, friend, transformer, revealer and helper. The Holy Ghost transformed Peter’s ministry that he became highly productive winning souls in thousands. The reason why you toil all night and catch nothing is because you lack the empowerment of the Holy Ghost.

In all thy asking, ask for the empowerment of the Holy Ghost, your ministry, home, family, career and life would become highly productive. But, let it be known that the empowerment is available for the one that hath a clean hands and a pure heart. Holiness is key to getting empowered by the Holy Ghost.

Give your life to Jesus, surrender your all, confess and repent of all your sins and you shall be forgiven and empowered.

Have a Holy Ghost empowered day.

DON’T WORRY

October 21, 2013

A professor came to class one day with a glass of water. Everyone thought it was going to be the usual “is it half-filled or half-empty?” question thing. Suddenly the professor asked what the weight of the glass of water was. People gave different answers, to which, the professor said the weight would vary.

He went further to say that if he held the glass of water for 1 minute, it would not be as heavy as much as if he held it for 10 minutes. In order words, the longer he held the glass of water, the heavier it would be. A whole lot of believers die prematurely because we hold on to some things longer than we ought to. One of those things is worry. We worry about everything and end up achieving nothing. Matt 6:27 says, “Which of you by mere worrying can add one cubit unto his stature?”

Rom 1:28 says, “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.” Worrying is inconvenient but the moment we lack the knowledge of the word of God on the inside of us, it becomes a career.

The amount of worry on the inside of you will help fast track untimely death as a result of hypertension. As believers, we ought to be filled with the word of God and not worry. Matt 4:4 says, “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God,” and you know that Rom 10:17 says that, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God,” and Heb 11:6 concludes it by saying, “But without faith it is impossible to please him,” and not-pleasing God means no answer to any prayer which in turn leads to worry.

So, get busy with the word of God and worry will fade away.

I SURRENDER ALL

October 20, 2013

In Matt 4:18-20, And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.”

In Luke 19:1-10, we read of the story of Zacchaeus, who was a chief tax collector and he was rich. However, despite his wealth and status, Bible says he sought to see Jesus. In the latter part of that story, Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

There is a song that says, “I surrender all, unto thee my blessed savior, I surrender all.” However, some of us are to sing it, “I surrender some, unto thee my blessed savior, I surrender some.” Many a lot of us find it hard to surrender our all unto God. Until you give your all unto God, He will not give His all unto you.

Your all belongs to God, so why withhold from the owner. Psa 24:1 says, “The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” Your all includes your money; your assets; your attitudes; your sexuality; your talents; your skills; your time; your business; your mind; your heart; your all. Ananias and Sapphira claimed to love God but they held back part of their finances from God, and as a result, they were rewarded with death.

You cannot claim you have surrendered all and yet you are involved in adultery and fornication. You cannot tell me you’ve surrendered all and yet to defraud your employer is a normal thing for you. Peter surrendered his all, and God rewarded him with what no man could give him.

Father, everything and anything that is hindering me from surrendering my all unto You is hereby nailed to the cross of Jesus in Jesus Name. Amen!

EMBRACE HOLINESS

October 19, 2013

In Gen 17, when the Lord appeared unto Abram, the instruction given him was, “walk before me, and be thou perfect.” As a result of the perfect walk with God, God told father Abram that He would make His covenant between Him and Abram, and will multiply him exceedingly. Holiness is key to accessing God’s throne. Heb 12:14 says, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.”

Psa 24 says that the only man that shall ascend into the hill of the LORD or who shall stand in his holy place is that man that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.  As a result of his holiness, He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

What is holiness? I define holiness as total obedience of God’s commandments. No wonder, Isa 1:19 says, “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” And Matt 6:33 says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Job 22:23-24 says, “If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles. Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.”

God is not interested in your sorrow or lack, but your part of the deal is to live holy and watch God do His own part. Embrace holiness; do away with all forms of iniquity; adultery, fornication, fraud, idolatry, deceit and all. Remember that sin sinks and the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus.

Pray with me, Lord, please help me to live holy all the days of my life in Jesus Name. Amen!

MY JOY ISN'T FOR SALE

October 18, 2013

I heard the story of a young man that lost his wife. As is the policy of his place of employment, he was asked to take one month off work to recover from the trauma of the loss. Two weeks later, he resumed for work looking very fresh and energetic. The manager was shocked and had to call him into a room to know why he resumed just after two weeks of the death of his wife. The man responded, “No amount of tears, sorrow, or sorry can bring back my wife, so I have moved on.”

I have come to realize that one area where most of us are professionals is in the area of remaining in a “Sorry” state. In 1 Sam 30, the Amalekites invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smote it, and burned it with fire; and took the women captives. This was a source of national sorrow that almost led to David getting stoned.

In verse 6, Bible says, “And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.” Despite the gravity of the problem, David recognized that the joy of the Lord was his strength, so he encouraged himself in the Lord.

Hab 3:17-19 says, No matter what the situation is; irrespective of my employment status; not minding what am going through: I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.

Friends, your joy is not for sale, so don’t let any situation or challenge steal it. Don’t let your life be a source of joy for the devil. Isa 12:3 says that with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation, so guard your joy jealously.

PRIDE KILLS

October 17, 2013

The story is told of two ducks and a frog that lived happily together in a farm pond. The best of friends, the three would amuse themselves and play together in their waterhole. When the hot summer days came, however, the pond began to dry up, and soon it was evident they would have to move. This was no problem for the ducks because they could easily fly to another pond.

But the frog was stuck. So it was decided that they would put a stick in the bill of each duck that the frog could hang onto with his mouth as they flew to another pond. The plan worked well--so well, in fact, that as they were flying along a farmer looked up in admiration and mused, "Wow, isn't that a clever idea! I wonder who thought of it?"

The frog heard the farmer and at that point opened its mouth and said, "I did..." He fell down and died. Prov 11:2 says, “When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.”  1Pe 5:5 says, “Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.”

Pride is the death of the soul. It tells us that we are the author of our own fortunes and destinies; owners rather than stewards of Creation; that we are competitors rather than neighbors to others. Mat 23:12 tells us that, “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”

What do you have that God did not give? Who have you become that is outside of the knowledge of God? Remember, Jas 4:6 says, “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” Lucifer fell because of pride. In all thy asking, ask for the grace to be humble always.

DIVINE POSITIONING

October 16, 2013

There is a story in Exo 2 about the conception and birth of Moses. Before then, Pharaoh commanded all his people that every son that is born shall cast be into the river, and every daughter shall save alive.  As a result of this, Moses’ mother hid him beside the river bank and asked the sister to stay afar off to know what would happen.

Suddenly the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it. At that point, Moses sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women and Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go.

The girl went and called the child's mother. And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it. Moses’ mother ended up getting paid for doing what was meant to be done for free.

In the journey of destiny fulfillment, positioning is key. Maybe if Moses’ mother had kept him in some other place apart from the river bank, there would have been some delay in Moses journey. Zacchaeus knew the essence of positioning when he climbed up into a sycomore tree to see Jesus which was what gave him the access to having Jesus abide in his house.

There is a place to be per time, however if you are not well positioned, you would miss out on what God has in stock for you. There were ravens at brook Cherith waiting for the arrival of Elijah, if the man of God had gone to brook New Jersey, I am sure he would have suffered prophetic hunger. I pray that where you ought to and when you ought to be there shall be made clear to you in Jesus Name. Amen!

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE

October 15, 2013

Few months ago, I came across the “YOLO” acronym which means You Only Live Once. It is a well thought out acronym, little wonder, Heb 9:27 says, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”   So that means there is only one life and then death is once and for all. Just to be clear, death is not avoidable, unless rapture happens.

I love the life Jesus lived because it made a whole lot of sense. As supposedly said, Jesus began His ministry work at the age of thirty as affirmed by Luk 3:23 and most Bible scholars said he died after three and a half years. However, the impact of a three and half year ministry is what you and I are enjoying even after several years of the departure of the minister. Bible says that Jesus was always on the move, going about, doing good, fulfilling destiny.

At a point He was scared, but when He thought about the purpose of His coming to planet earth, He refused to give up. I am come today to challenge someone that enough of sitting down. Get up and get to work. This life is not a rehearsal ground, but a stage where we are acting already. There is no second life here, so live this one to the fullest. Dream big and go for your dream. Never let any day pass without doing something that takes you closer to your purpose in life.

I heard a slang the other day that, “No time to check the time,” in order words, no time to waste. Jesus knew there were sick people to be healed, people to be taught the word of God and all, so that made it impossible for Him to lazy around. Sir, if you have to de-friend some people just so you could fulfill destiny, do so. I pray that your life would bring glory to the name of our Lord in Jesus Name. Amen!

ANOINTING MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

October 14, 2013

Anointing is the divine enabling for activity and ministry done in Christ’s name and for the glory of Christ. It rests upon a life and ministry and specially crowns the ministry ,…But it is not reserved for so-called “spiritual” activities. Anointing is God’s extra touch upon your mind, skill, effort, memory, emotions, talent and strength.

Anointing will aid the mechanic to determine problems and solve them, a student taking examinations, an author as he writes, the preacher or motivational speaker as he speaks or teaches, the cab driver avoid traffic jam for a passenger that is almost late for an appointment, the musician in his playing, the artist in his painting, the poet in his writing, the dancer in his dancing and the actor in his acting.

In the old Testament, anointing was by the pouring of the oil, but in this era of the Holy Ghost, anointing is a product of the presence of the Holy Ghost upon a life. Acts 10:38 says, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” The moment the Holy Ghost came upon Jesus in the form of a dove, His ministry received divine backing and He began doing great and mighty things.

The anointing of the Holy Spirit will make the most difference in a life. The disciples found it hard to pray for the healing of a boy, but the moment the Holy Spirit came upon them, Bible says, they became agents of change and transformation.

Sir, education without the anointing will lead to frustration. Talent without the anointing will lead to torment. Good grammar is great, but without the anointing, your speech and message would sound like noise. Great voice is good but without the anointing, it is just noise. In all thy asking today, ask for the anointing of the Holy Ghost.

KEEP AT IT

October 13, 2013

In the book of 1 Sam 16, we read of the story of Prophet Samuel in the home of Jesse looking for who to anoint king as Saul’s successor. All the children of Jesse came out looking well built and handsome. It got to the turn of Eliab, that even Prophet Samuel said, “Surely the LORD'S anointed is before him,” but God refused him.

After the seven children had done campaign and none won, Verse 11 says, “And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.” David was in the bush tending the sheep as it was his practice, however, his entire family and a man of God remained standing because of David. It was in the middle of doing what he loved doing best that he was divinely picked for the next level.

Joseph was a dream interpreter, and even while in the prison, he was still interpreting dreams until he divinely picked for the next level. He could have given up on the dreaming career, after all, it was a dream that got him sold into Egypt, but he did not until it paid off. If you would abide in your calling and never waiver, power will soon change hands and it will become your turn.

Don’t get tired, I know you have been at it for long, but keep on keeping at it, don’t stop, don’t give up, don’t back out, just keep at it, God is watching and He will not allow you to labor in vain. Pro 22:29 says, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” The only thing you must do is to ensure you abide in    your calling. Don’t get distracted or frustrated, keep on abiding in your calling, because soon and very soon, you are getting called to the top.

GOD IS ON THE LINE

October 12, 2013

One of the things that I have come to discover is that God is always speaking; however, it takes someone with hearing ears and a heart that is connected to God to hear God. Until a Telecom SIM card is inserted in a mobile phone, no matter how many people you give your mobile number to, they will never be able to reach you until you insert the SIM card in the telephone.

So also are we humans, we can never hear God no matter how frequent He is speaking unless we are filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our network connection to God. The Holy Spirit is the channel through which God speaks clearly to us. But what I have come to find out is that, many a whole lot of us prefer to go to other people to know what God is saying when we also have the right to hear God clearly.

The reason is because; we find it hard to retain God and God’s word on the inside of us. Jer 6:10 says, “To whom shall I (the Lord speaking) speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.”

Rom 1:28 says, “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.” God is not a wicked God; He loves us so much that He could gave His only begotten son to die for you and I. He wants to guide, direct and lead us per time, but that is only possible when we are a God carrier. You do not have to go to any man to know what God is saying the moment you are a Holy Spirit carrier. Saul stopped hearing God the moment the Holy Spirit departed from him.

Today, in all thy asking, ask for the anointing of the Holy Ghost.

IT IS YOUR TURN TO LAUGH

October 10, 2013

One of God’s area of expertise is putting laughter in the mouths of His people. Psa 126:1&2 says, “When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.”

God did not create us to weep or sorrow. Weeping signifies sorrow while laughter signifies rejoicing. We were created to always rejoice, which was why when Jesus saw Mary the sister of Lazarus weeping and the Jews also. Bible says in John 11:33 that Jesus groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, and He wept. To restore the Lazarus’s family to God’s original intent of rejoicing, Jesus rose up Lazarus thereby putting laughter in the mouths of the Lazarus’ family and well-wishers.

In 1Sam 2:9-18, prayer turned the tide for Hannah and suddenly the same set of people who laughed at her was also among those that laughed with her. I don’t care why people are always laughing at you, the tide is turning right away and they will begin to laugh with you in Jesus Name. The widow in 2Kings 4 was always crying because the creditor said he is coming to take unto him her two sons to be bondmen. God had to quickly send Elisha to her, her testimony was, “once I was owing, now I am owed.” She could laugh.

Laughter is good. Bible compares it to medicine. But not everybody can be privileged to have it. As much as Jabez loved to laugh, he could not because he was perpetually surrounded by sorrow, but because God is not glorified in the casting down of our head, He fixed Jabez’ issue and laughter became his portion forever. For a reader of this devotional, as a result of what God will do for you this month, you shall laugh the best in Jesus Name. Amen!

IT IS YOUR TURN TO DANCE

October 9, 2013

After the great victory over Pharaoh at the red sea, Exo 15:20-21 says, “And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.”

Bible says in 1Sa 18:6 that when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of music. Dancing is in an indication of life. The winning side is always the dancing side. The moment the ark of God was brought from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness, Bible says David danced before the LORD with all his might.

During wedding receptions, couples dance with all their might because it is their day of joy. Maybe you have never danced with all your might since the beginning of 2013, don’t worry, Jer 31:13 says, “Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.” Go get a new pair of shoes because, reasons to dance with all your might is flooding your home in Jesus Name.

Ecc 3:4 says, “A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.” I don’t care how long your mourning season has lasted; I am come as a servant of the Most High God to tell you that weeping may have endured for a night, but joy has finally come. You have rejoiced with others long enough, it is your turn to be rejoiced with from this hour henceforth in Jesus Name. Amen!

HEARING GOD CLEARLY – 2

October 8, 2013

God gave us ears to make us understand that we can hear from Him. Someone asked me recently how to hear God. I told her, to hear God, ask and open your ears. Jer 33:3 says, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” As a child of God, your success in life depends entirely on your ability to hear God and your willingness to obey. Hearing from God can mean the difference between life and death.

Uncle David went to God in 1 Samuel 30:8, “And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.” Jer 33:3 says, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”  A whole lot of us keep going round the same mountain for so long because we have closed our ears to hearing God.

I love the story in Genesis 18, where father Abraham was having a mouth to mouth discussion with God. You are a descendant of Abraham, so you are entitled to hearing God. However, some people will not hear God not because God doesn’t want to speak to them, but because, they are not part of God’s flock and remember, Jesus said in John 10:27 that, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

To hear God clearly, you must develop a relationship with the Holy Spirit. You must also be filled with faith and expectation. It is very easy to confuse self-ideas for God’s voice, but with the presence of the Holy Spirit, it is “impossicant” for you to be confused because God is not the author of confusion. Samuel confused the voice of God for Eli’s.

Father, open my ears to hear you clearly henceforth in Jesus Name.

HEARING GOD CLEARLY

October 7, 2013

There is a story of a certain man that went to God in prayer as to whether to do a particular project or postpone for later. After that prayer, he waited on God for few moments to see whether he was going to be shown a scriptural verse that would direct him, but nothing happened. In frustration, he picked his bag and drove off to work. On his way to work, he saw an electronic billboard with NIKE slogan; “DO IT NOW” moving. He has always been seeing this billboard but this time, there was something different about it. That was the answer he needed.

Some of us get so confused as to how God speaks and how to hear Him clearly. With my little experience here on planet earth, I have come to discover that God can speak to a man anyhow. In Dan 5, because God needed to tell Belshazzar something, a hand was made to write on the wall.

A man had issues with his car tire along a very deserted road; the entire four studs of one of the wheels were completely gone. He prayed that God would send help, but no car came along. Suddenly a mad man showed up, and “foolishly” said unto the man, “fool, why can’t you remove a stud each from the other three tires and use them for the fourth wheel and that would surely take you to work.” The man’s eyes were opened, that was the answer he needed and a mad man was the vessel used.

In Num 22, because God needed to talk to Balaam, Bible says, the LORD opened the mouth of the ass and the ass spoke like a man. Before you take any step, be sure you hear God clearly but don’t box God into a corner – don’t restrict hearing God to one area, God can speak to you anyhow.

Ask God about something today (now) and wait for answers, for surely HE WILL ANSWER.

OPEN HEAVENS

October 6, 2013

After the Almighty has brought  the children of Israel out of Egypt and even made them cross the red sea, they got to a point where they became hungry and instead of asking God to give them food, Bible says in in Exo 16:2-3 that, “And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.” This made God do what has never been done before. The heavens opened and bread was rained down.

Operating under open heavens is incomparable to any other experience. When your heaven is opened, it means that when others are complaining of lack, you are rejoicing of abundance. When your heaven is opened, it means when others are mourning, you are rejoicing. However, open heavens is not automatic, it is provoked.

One of the ways to provoke open heavens is through prayer. Luke 3:21 says, “Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened.”  Until the heavens opened, the Holy Ghost never appeared in a bodily shape. When your heaven is opened, things beyond human comprehension and calculation will begin to happen.

Another way to have the heavens opened is through obedience. Isa 1:19 says, “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” Obedience is key to having the heavens opened. It is not enough to pray, you must be willing to be obedient. Obey God to the last order and I pray for someone today that as you do so, your heavens shall perpetually be opened in Jesus Name. Amen!
