It is a fact that life can be overwhelming sometimes. The continual
pressure that one goes through on a daily basis at times tends to worsen the
situation. Sometimes, it gets to the height of it that one just screams out, “I
can’t take this/do this no more. I am tired.”
It may be in reference to a job, in our marriage, as regards a
business endeavor or anything. Most times we say things like this when we are
troubled, sick and tired or we just don’t see any reason to still be alive. Maybe
there is no peace in the home, the economy of the land is terrible, and clients
are no more calling because there is no money in town and all, so we just
assume that the reason for living is all gone.
In the Bible are stories of ordinary men like you and I who despite
the troubles, challenges and issues they went through, refused to give up on
themselves and their situations but held on and later became great men.
Apostle Paul was a great example of someone who kept on going on.
Despite the torment, persecution, depression and attack, he never looked back.
He knew there was a price ahead and he never let go. He knew weeping may endure
for the night, but joy comes in the morning.
Luk 9:62 say “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to
the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Friends, even as
we go about our daily lives, always remember that looking back takes aback.
Pressing on moves on. One day you shall move onto your land of glory in Jesus
Name.
Heb 12:2 says “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our
faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the
shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Jesus could
have said “I’m doing this no more.” But He kept on enduring the pain from the
nailing process, drinking of vinegar, being beaten and all, but today we all
worship Him all over the world.
If you would just keep on going on without looking at the scars, soon
and very soon, the world will celebrate you in Jesus Name. Amen!
