DON’T BE DISTRACTED

December 10, 2014

I was watching a little girl sometimes ago who was carrying a very big bowl on her head, as she was about crossing over a drainage channel, she heard one popular song playing and she turned around to see who was playing it, she had forgotten where she was. The next thing I saw was the girl on the ground. She got distracted by the song and lost sight of her steps and that was how she fell down. Distraction is a thief of achievement.

In 2 Kings 2, where Bible talks about how God took Elijah to heaven by a whirlwind. Elisha the servant also knew what was about to happen, and his one and only desire was a double portion of the anointing on Elijah to be released upon him. When his master told him, “Wait for me, I need to quickly get to Gilgal.” The young man’s song was, “Sir, where you go, I will go.” When Elijah told him he was going to Jericho and Jordan, Elisha kept saying, “We are going together.”

Whirlwind activities take seconds, meaning if Elisha had allowed himself to be distracted, maybe we won’t be reading about him today. The most common distraction is that many of us are busy looking at problems around us and this has caused us to take our eyes off Jesus. We have forgotten that the more we look at problems, the more they grow until they now seem bigger than God. Apostle Peter actually walked on the water until he began to look at the boisterous winds and waves. He got distracted by what was going on around him instead of focusing on what was before him.

It is only when you truly come to trust God that you will never be moved by distractions. Don’t take your eyes off Jesus because He is the author and finisher of our faith. The more you look unto Him, the smaller your problems become and the bigger your testimony.

Stay focused!

I AM TOO SURE

December 9, 2014

People lose their peace whenever something has gone or is going wrong. Imagine someone whose child’s school fees is yet to be paid, and probably examinations is starting in few days, yet there is no tiny indication of whether money to pay the tuition would surface. For that kind of person, it becomes very hard if not impossible to stay calm. The person would be disturbed and angry. But while having a discussion with a friend recently, I realized there are some other set of people, irrespective of what is going on, they are always calm.

These set of people are the ones mentioned in Isa 26:3 that, “Thou (God) wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” These set of people are too confident that irrespective of what is going on, it is under their control because they have God on their side always. In Acts 16, Paul and Silas were arrested and jailed. While in the prison, they started singing and praying, and then the prison door opened and their hand cuffs broken away supernaturally. Ordinarily, they should have just ran out immediately, but they did otherwise.

They were too sure that God could open the prison doors for them without any human intervention one million and one times. Bible says in Psa 34:5 that, “They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.” When you know your father would be coming to pick you from school, when others are rushing for the bus, you may be sleeping because you know someone’s got you covered. Stop worrying yourself sick, start trusting God the more, because whatever it is you want, HE CAN DO!

David was too sure of victory even though he had just a sling in his hands, that he told Goliath, “You big for nothing giant, today, I will barbecue your head for vultures.” Sir, God is too big to fail or disappoint you!

Stay Calm!

DOGGED OBEDIENCE

December 8, 2014

In the military, if a soldiers are deployed to an area generally known as war zone, no soldier would dare say, “I can’t go to this area, I prefer this area.” The only thing I guess that soldier can do is to willingly resign from service. One of the things I like about military folks is their attitude to commands. The ultimate rule every military officer live by is, “Obey first before you complain.” Obedience is key in the race of life.

A young man who happened to be a carpenter was planning to marry a beautiful virgin. About few months or so to their wedding, the lady was found to be pregnant. The young man didn’t want to embarrass the lady, so he had it in mind to just let her go away secretly. However, a prophecy came to this man that he shouldn’t divorce the lady, but should go ahead, marry her and father the child in her. What a prophecy! The man obeyed and today, when talking about Jesus, you can never forget Joseph. It was a great honor for Joseph to be referred to as Jesus’ father.

In the book of Isa 20:2, God told Isaiah, “Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.” Verse 3 tells us the man walked naked and barefooted for three solid years not because he was insane, but because God asked him to do so. Wow! I am sure you would agree with me that the man was obedience personified. No wonder he was the one privileged to prophecy about the birth of Jesus.

Isa 1:19 (MSG) says, “If you are willingly obedient, you will feast like kings.” Go and check how King Solomon used to feast (1 Kings 4:22-23). You cannot obey God and not enjoy what God has, because who you obey determines what you command in life.

Obey! Obey!! Obey!!!

MANIFESTING ROYALTY

December 7, 2014

When a king says, “No one goes out today,” it becomes an order. You move out, you are moved out. About two years ago in Nigeria, there were indications of violence in most states, when the president realized things were going out of hands, he ordered a national curfew. Immediately, because the president had spoken, the military folks started patrolling and mounting road blocks for the period of curfew, just to see if there would be anyone bold enough to go against the order of Mr. President.

Ecc 8:4 says, “Where the word of a king is, there is power.” That is why the scripture says in Job 22:28 that, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.” Kings issue decrees. Kings don’t talk anyhow in the public because their words are very expensive, which is why it baffles me how believers who have been ordained kings here on earth could be so cheap to go about gossiping, backbiting and talking anyhow anywhere. A king knows that his words carry power which is why he won’t go about cursing. Manifesting royalty starts from the way you talk, dress, address people and confront situations.

Before Joseph could see Pharaoh, he had to be well dressed, meaning Pharaoh was gorgeously dressed. A king cannot be seen putting on a bathroom slippers and one shabby-looking attire and comfortably walking around the street. A king cannot be seen outside fighting the bus conductor for change, even when a kings is provoked to anger, you see the chiefs calming him down. A king doesn’t worry about rumors of war, neither does challenges make him fidget, he knows that the village warriors would willingly give up their lives for his. A king won’t be at home and say, “I am in the bus already.”

Let your confessions and actions add up. As much as you are confessing to be a king, live like one.

Remain blessed!

ARISE, SHINE!

December 6, 2014

I am sure you would agree with me that the whole essence of a mobile phone is such that I can hear and be heard, the moment I call and I can’t be heard, the mobile phone ceases to be a telephone and automatically becomes a radio. Same way, the moment a believer stops shining, he ceases to be who God has designed him/her to be, because Jesus said we are the light of this world.

Bible says that God has made us kings and priests, and we shall reign here on earth. God didn’t call you a prince because princes don’t rule, but a king you are called, because our God is called the King of kings. Based on this biblical truth, you are never to be below at any point in time, because the Bible says you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. As believers, the earnest expectation of the creature awaits our manifestation. Our communities, states, nation and world at large would remain in darkness if you refuse to shine the light of your royalty.

Royalty destroys inferiority complex. Ecc 8:4 says, “Where the word of a king is, there is power.” When royalty speaks, it gets done, irrespective of the age of who has spoken. That’s why it was easy for Joash at age seven to begin ruling Jerusalem. You are not a believer because your knowledge of the Bible is extraordinary, or because you can speak in diverse kind of tongues. As much as these are important, it is more important to note that royalty is about manifestation. Isa 60:1 commands, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come.”

It is time to manifest the royal blood flowing in you. It is impossible for a king to beg. It is a taboo for a king to lack. A king cannot be intimated in his territory. Take charge now because you have the power to bind and to loose.

Keep shining!

WISDOM KEY

December 5, 2014

Do you know that all humans irrespective of their status, color, gender or nationality were born naked? Also, no one was born with a mobile phone or a car key in his hands. It makes me want to conclude that the concept of, “born with a silver spoon,” is just an expression to indicate that the parents of the child had acquired some material possessions before the child got here. It then means that all humans have the same opportunity to become great and wealthy, since we have the same resources available at our disposals.

However, going through the scripture, I discovered that for every material breakthrough, there were material resources at hand and the owners were ready to release them. For example, a handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse were the raw material needed to ensure that woman in 1 Kings 17 didn’t beg to eat. When Jesus was going to turn water to wine, pots and water were available. When He was going to feed 5000 people, five loaves of bread and two fishes were available. We can then conclude it is a case of using what you have to obtain what you need.

The employee uses his acquired academic knowledge to get salaries from the employer. The artisan uses his vocational skills to get paid by the client. The musician uses his talent to get paid by people. You sure do have something in your hands you can give God as a raw material for obtaining your desires, until you start making use of it, you will keep whining and suffering. Scripture says in Prov 11:24, “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.”

To get what you want, give God what you have. It could be your time, your money, your skills, your faith, I assure you, God is a faithful rewarder.

Be wise!

GET CONFIDENT - 2

December 4, 2014

An accused person would always be confident he would win in the court of law, as long as he is sure that he didn’t commit the offence. When we were younger and something got stolen, the owner of the item would start threatening to take the case to an herbalist. But if you were certain you didn’t steal it, you would tell the owner of the stolen item to take you to anywhere. Confidence has its root in some few things.

Prov 28:1 says, “The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.” Our confidence in Christ is rooted in our righteousness. However, many believers are still being haunted by their past sins, and as a result of this, whenever they face any little challenge, their hymn is, “I am suffering the punishment of my sins.” As long as you have confessed your sins and repented, your past is no longer relevant. Come to think of it, if God decides to mark iniquities, who shall stand? Be righteousness conscious all the time. Always tell yourself, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.”

The presence of God is also a source of confidence for believers. Jesus promised us in Matt 28:20 that, “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” King David said in Psa 23:4, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Walking through the valley of the shadow of death is like walking through a cemetery in the middle of the night, but David said, he could walk through that fearful location because of the presence of God with him. Dr. T.L. Osborn said, “You and God make an unbeatable team.”

No matter what you are going through, never let go of your confidence in Christ, because it is the visa that guarantees victory.

GET CONFIDENT

December 3, 2014

When I was younger, whenever anyone wanted me to fight him, if the person was stronger than me, I would stylishly avoid that fight. But if I was beside my father, I would gladly accept the challenge, because I was cocksure the opponent would want the fight postponed to a day my father won’t be around. Confidence is key in the race of life. Whether we like it or not, we are always faced with battles every day.

The enemy knows that once he can steal your confidence away, you are done for. Goliath was able to rid the army of Israel of their confidence. 1 Sam 17:24 says, “And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid.” But when David saw him, he never got scared a bit, because he knew that greater is He that was in him than the one in Goliath. David told Goliath, “This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee.” And so was it.

As believers, one of our weapons of warfare is confidence, the moment it goes away, we become exposed. Heb 10:35 says, “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.” Bible says they that do know their God shall be strong. In other words, they shall be confident. No matter how big the prey is, the lion doesn’t run away from it, remember, you have the Lion of the tribe of Judah in you, so stop fidgeting in the face of challenges. Take charge!

One way to build your confidence in God is to be an unrepentant student of the Word. The more you study, the more confident you become, and the better your life. King David said, “Princes have persecuted me without a cause: but my heart standeth in awe of thy word. I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.”

Remain blessed!

HELP IS HERE

December 2, 2014

One of the most frustrating thing that could happen to a man is lack of help. No matter how bright and profitable an idea could be, if the right help to make it become a reality isn’t available, the owner of the idea becomes depressed. This is the case with many people and as a result, many have given up on themselves.

In the book of John 5, it is recorded that an angel would go down at a certain season into the pool of Bethesda, and trouble the water, whosoever then first steps in after the troubling of the water would be made whole of whatsoever disease he had. One day Jesus saw a man by that pool who had been there for 38 years. He asked, “Do you want to be healed?” The said, “As much as I would have loved to be healed, I have no one to help me get into the water.” He didn’t know the Healer was the One talking to him.

When help locates a man, it becomes easy for that man to achieve things without stress. In Luke 5, Bible says Peter had toiled all night and caught nothing. When Help located him, He told him, “Put out your net out for a catch.” Peter said, “Sir, there is scarcity of fish today because we have toiled all night and caught nothing.” But when he remembered who gave the order, he quickly added, “at thy word I will let down the net.” Bible records it that he had a massive catch that day.

Maybe you have been toiling for years, yet no tangible result. Maybe with all your great ideas, you are still struggling to make ends meet. Hear this word of God, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

Help has come for you!

NOW IS THE TIME

December 1, 2014

I feel very sad anytime I see an elderly person doing hard labors. With my cultural background, we were trained to always assist old people when doing hard labor, but they are just too much these days, I wish I had a home to take care of them, because if I have to be carrying their loads for them, then mine might be left undone. We were also taught that, whoever plays his or her youthful age away would end up serving his or her peers. With this last statement, one could easily conclude that anyone still hustling at age 70 and above must have played his youth away.

Well, we might be right and we might be wrong, especially going by the words of the wise man in Ecc 9:11 that, “The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” However, my take is that the best time to take care of today was yesterday, and the best time to take of tomorrow is today. Jesus said in John 9:4 that, “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”

Lam 3:27 says, “It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.” The message translation says, “It’s a good thing when you are young, to stick it out through the hard times.” This is the time to work. Even the scripture says he that doesn’t work should eat. I guess that is why those who refuse to work end up begging to eat. Whatsoever your hands findeth to do, sir/ma, do it with all thine might.

Someone asked me when things would become better. I told him, as long as you keep doing the good, it will become better one day.

Don’t be tired!

IT IS A PRIVILEGE

November 30, 2014

It is a privilege for your boss at work to give you a ride home if you do not have a car yet. You would agree with me that it is not your right at all. It is also a very great privilege if your employer gives you transport allowance, some employers don’t. There are some things that we as believers should cherish greatly because, they are not our rights but privileges. One of such things is serving God. Many people find it hard to make themselves available for the use of God, not knowing that it is a privilege to be used of God.

Our major duty as believers is to worship and worship and worship God. Remember when Moses went to seek the release of the children of Israel, the mandate was, “Let my people go, that they may worship Me.” In Luke 19, when Jesus was entering Jerusalem, multitudes began to praise and worship Jesus. This got the Pharisees angry, they said, “Master, rebuke your disciples.” Immediately, Jesus said, “I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.”

Excuse me sir, that you are the only one always around to arrange the chairs before the service is a privilege. God can raise up stones to do that. Ma, stop complaining you are the only one washing the toilet in the church, if you resign today, God can raise up stones to wash that same toilet. And if you feel when you are not around, it won’t be done, you are so wrong, God can raise up stones to lead praise, play the instruments, pray and even preach. An invitation to service in the house of God is an invitation to promotion.

Exo 23:25-26 says, “And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.” In case you don’t have anything doing for God yet, it is high time you woke up and get connected.

You are blessed in Jesus Name. Amen!

KNOW YOUR SOURCE

November 29, 2014

There is no greater frustration than looking for something and not know where to get it. If the only market you know is a fish market, would it not be stupid to go there and be asking for laptop spares? My son already knows that coming to me for breast milk is like asking the deaf for earphones. Many people are going about life depressed because they do not know the source of what they are looking for, and as a result of that, they keep going from pillar to post.

Our only source as believers is God Almighty. Bible says, heaven and earth belong to Him. Another part of the Bible in Hag 2:8 says, “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.” Jesus said in Matt 11:28 that, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest,” because God the Father is in Him and He is also in God the Father (John 14:11). Many of the people who enjoyed the grace loaded in the earthly ministry of Jesus knew Him as their only source.

When the son of the widow of Zarephath in 1 King 17 died, the woman never bothered going to anyone because she knew the source of the child. She ran to Prophet Elijah for help and she was not disappointed. She understood that it’s an act of foolishness and an invitation to humiliation to take your Blackberry mobile phone to a Nokia store for repair. Jokingly, I do say, your source determines the kind of sauce you eat. I guess that is what Dan 11:32 means that, “But the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”

If your source is a man, I say, “Welcome to the land of limitation,” but if God is your source, David said, “They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth forever.”

Selah!

LIVE YOUR OWN LIFE

November 28, 2014

A veterinary doctor friend shared a story of a dog that was brought to her clinic with fractured hind limb. The owner of the dog lives on the second floor of a 2-storey building. Suddenly, some birds came and were doing flight stunts which thrilled the poor dog. The dog started chasing them.  After a while, the birds jumped and flew away, the dog must have also thought it could fly too, jumped up and flew only to land on the ground with a broken leg luckily for him. This story made me realize why many are frustrated, unfulfilled and depressed.

Someone said, the best you can be trying to be like someone else is second best. It is so sad that most of us now live competitively, and this is gradually sapping our creative abilities and natural talents away. I discovered that most of the people who lived great lives in the Bible never tried living like someone else. The day a snake starts copying an eagle is the day it stops living. Apostle Paul said in 1 Thess 4:11a (MSG) that, “Stay calm; mind your own business; do your own job.”

Why should you be ridiculing God by comparing yourself with another man, when God has said what He has in stock for you is what no eyes hath ever seen; no ears ever heard and no man ever thought about it? 2 Cor 10:12 (ESV) says, “Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.”

We all have our different mission to fulfill here on earth, and until you stop competing and start living your own life, you will never fulfill destiny. You have such great potential, but if you refuse to take yourself serious and stop copying someone else, you will die like an ordinary human.

Be real!

SPARK IT UP

November 27, 2014

Do you remember those times we do shoot “knock-outs” during festive periods? The fireworks tool only works when we light it up and then it starts sounding. I know of some friends who were always scared to the extent that they never shot theirs and for months it remained with them. It wasn’t that the firework object wasn’t good or not sounding well, but they were not ready to take the risk of shooting it.

Many tongue talking, chair throwing believers who carry so much deposit of greatness on the inside of them, are still walking about as mere men even though, Psalm 82:6 says, “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.” When the seventy two people that Jesus sent out came back, Bible says they returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.” (Luke 10:17) The seventy two never knew what they carried until it was put to use. Don’t forget they never took any money with them, but never lacked.

God has equipped you with all that’s needed for you to become great in life, but you have a very key role to play. Stop focusing on what others have that you don’t have, sir, you have what they don’t have. Someone said, you don’t value what you have until you lose it. You are the light of this world, but no light shines until someone switches it on. Spark up the greatness in you. Stop burying your talent and potential, start using it from today. The more Jesus kept going about doing what God sent Him here to do, the more impacts He made.

The more you use the talent and skill deposited in you, the better you become, the more your impact and the higher you climb, because the one that starts a fire cannot tell how big it would become. Remember, the entire world is waiting for your manifestation!

Don’t disappoint God!

GODLINESS

November 26, 2014

For every child of God, there is a throne to occupy, which is why the Bible makes us understand that the entire world is waiting for our manifestations. But, one of the tactics of Satan in dethroning believers and making us not to become who God has created us to become is ungodliness. The devil is trying everything in his capacity to see to it that we do not ascend that throne which is why he is always going about looking for ways to trap us so that he can devour, because his mission is to steal, kill and destroy.

King David had it going super for him until the devil succeeded in luring him into an adulterous relationship with Bathsheba. After that incident, King David spent some time running around and staying in the bush. Righteousness and greatness are always walking together. Today, we are all talking about Jesus, just because He was righteous. He said in John 14:30 that, “for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.” He was blameless. No wonder He went about doing good and performing diverse miracles, for God was with Him.

Bible says Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile himself. Despite how sinful that generation was, Daniel was sinless and this earned him a great throne. As much as the covenant is there that the least in the kingdom would be greater than John the Baptist, sin could block this covenant from working because sin sinks. It dethrones, while godliness empowers to manifest. If you have being overcome again and again by sin, there is way out – cry out for mercy and Jesus will rescue you.

Get rid of all the little, little foxes that spoil the vine. This will you cost you your pleasure, relationship with others or any other form of discomfort. However, the price you pay cannot be compared to the glory that awaits you in the end. Don’t because of today’s temporal enjoyment dethrone yourself.

Be wise!

BY THEIR FRUITS – 2

November 25, 2014

You might not know the name of a tree when it hasn’t started bearing fruits, but the moment you start seeing fruits on it, you can easily say, “this is an apple tree.” Even if grafting was done and an orange tree starts bearing apple, because what you see on it is apple, you would naturally call it an apple tree. When we see a car in the middle of the road with the front wheel torn apart, there is a brand name that easily comes to mind. People should be able to tell we are believers by our fruits.

One of such fruit is love as stated in Gal 5:22. You cannot convince me you are a believer and yet you find it hard to love. Bible says in 1 John 4:8, “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” It is natural for the son of a wicked man to be wicked. So, it then means it should be natural for the son of the loving Father to be a loving child. There are many verses of the Bible where out of love, Jesus did some very great miracles.

Love restores. How can you love God when you find it hard loving the man beside you genuinely? We claim we love God and when someone around us errs, instead of bringing them back to the God we claim to love, we nail them to the cross. We are the ones who would rather bury a dying man than help him get back to life. We claim we love but see our fellow man hurting and we blind our eyes to it. As lovers, we should stop condemning and judging fellow men when Jesus said, “Judge not!”

Love God, love your spouse, love your neighbor, love your enemies, love your nation, love your leaders and love your followers. Remember that every tree that refuses to bear fruit (love) will be chopped down!

Be wise!

NO LIMIT

November 24, 2014

In the corporate world, there is a limit to the height some set of people can climb, as a result of either their academic qualification or leadership capability. When you want to obtain a bank loan, after much discussion, the next thing is tell you the limit of the amount you are entitled to. In politics, there is a limit you can climb especially if you are of a certain age. But in Christ, there is no limit but the sky.

The scripture says that God has laid before each and every one of us life and death (Deut 30:19), which is why Jesus even restated it that His coming is so that we don’t just have life, but we have abundant life (John 10:10). As a stranger in the land, there was a limit to what height Joseph could climb. Ordinarily, it has never been in record that a stranger rose to become the Prime Minister in that land, but because within us lies everything we ever dream of being, Joseph dreamt it and became it.

There is no limit except for the one we create through unbelief, doubt and fear. Jesus couldn’t do much miracles in His own country because of their unbelief (Matt 13:58). When those folks in Gen 11 decided to build a tower that would reach up to heaven, Bible says when God saw what they were doing and how determined they were, He knew there was no limit to what they were going to achieve which was why he scattered their plan. Had God not scattered that plan, maybe that building would still be in existence today.

Many people will tell you it can’t be done. Some will say it has never been done. But I tell you that with God, all things are possible. There would be obstacles and challenges along the way, but in the words of Apostle Paul, forget the things that are behind keep looking ahead because if you can believe, you can achieve it.

TAKE THE LIMITS OFF!

GREATNESS IS IN YOU

November 22, 2014

One of the most frustrating things in life is to have something and not know you have it, or have no idea as to how to use it. Recently, I was attending a meeting and I needed to write, but I didn’t know I had a pen in my pocket, so I had to start asking my colleagues for help. It was right then it dawned on me that so many of us believers are kings walking the street like tramps because we do not know what we carry.

No wonder the writer of Ecclesiastes said folly is set in great dignity, ‘cos servants are the ones riding on horses while princes are walking the street like servants. (Ecc 10:5-7) I’d like you to understand that God has deposited greatness in you so much that when great people look at you, they marvel. At a point, when professors and doctors heard Jesus talking, they were so dazed that they said, “what kind of wisdom is this?”

You might have the same physical features like every other persons around you, but may I tell you sir, that you are different, because the scripture says, you are wonderfully and fearfully made. Jesus said in Matt 11:11 that, “Verily I say unto you, among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: NOTWITHSTANDING HE THAT IS LEAST IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS GREATER THAN HE.” Did you hear that? The secret of kingdom greatness therefore is to become a citizen of the kingdom of heaven.

No wonder Jesus said in Matt 6:33 that, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things (food, money, clothing and greatness inclusive) shall be added unto you.” God gave each and every one of us the mandate of greatness and dominion in Gen 1:28, so it is left to you to walk in it by putting God first in all you do.

KNOWING THE UNKNOWN

November 21, 2014

If every other persons around you, in your class or in your line of business, know exactly what you know, then I want to say you do not have any edge over them. What you can do with what you know is what sets you apart from others. But I have seen that the system of this world is such that if I choose to, I can know what the other guy next door knows. But, when God is involved, you end up knowing what would later become a curriculum you will be the one to teach.

Every other persons attended the university same way Ben Carson did. They all took the same classes, maybe read the same books and graduated with same grade. But in his book, “The Gifted Hands,” the young man said his discoveries stemmed from God’s wisdom and revelation. Revelation precedes transfiguration. There is a better way to do what you are doing, which no one would ever teach you, but God can make that way known to you, because it is only those that know their God that shall do exploits.

Jesus was faced with a situation where there were 5000 hungry souls, and all they had was just 5 loaves of bread and 2 pieces of fish. Jesus asked where bread could be bought not because He wanted to buy, but as written in John 6:6 that, “And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.” You are only permitted never to be confused, stranded or cheated if you know what others don’t know, and you cannot know asking mortal men because 1 Cor 2:11 says, “For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.”

You have been given to know divine mysteries, but you cannot know unless the Spirit of God reveals to you.

Selah!

LIVING AN OUTSTANDING LIFE

November 20, 2014

Every human want to be outstanding in life. Someone prayed a prayer recently that, “Where others are standing, you will stand out, where there are many people standing out, you will be outstanding, and when there are many outstanding people, you will become the standard.” Overall, it is all about being the best in life. Isn’t that God’s plan for us as well? Matt 5:14 says, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”

However, no man can be outstanding without having excellent understanding. And most times, to have that understanding needed to be outstanding, you have to be obedient, because instructions precede promotion. Deut 28:1 says, “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth.”

When talking about men who lived outstanding lives while here on earth, we would make mention of Daniel. Dan 1:17b says, “Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.” It was so much that when he finished interpreting Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, the king worshiped him. Bible says Daniel was ten times better than all the other astrologers and magicians. Wonder where he got the understanding from? God gave him. Dan 2:22 says, “He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.”

The difference between an average and an excellent student, is what they know. Until you know better, you cannot be known better, which is why I urge you to go to Jehovah and ask for this kind of understanding that stands out. Dan 1:17 says God gave Daniel the understanding he possessed, and Jesus said, “Ask, and you shall receive.” May you from henceforth be referred to as “Man/Woman of angelic understanding.”

Keep shining!

HAVE YOUR WAY LORD

November 19, 2014

When a woodcarver goes to the forest to cut a tree, anyone that sees him would just greet him and pass by, but by the time he starts chiseling and smoothing, people start wondering what he is doing. By the time he is done, whatever image he has carved out of the seemingly useless tree, becomes so adorable that people start offering him money to buy it. But I have never seen a case where the wood would say to the carver, “Don’t carve me into this shape.” The person with the chisel determines what image would come out best from that wood.

Many of us sing the song, “Jesus take the wheel,” but some still have their foot on the brake pedal, while some on the accelerator pedal. Little wonder why the ride is always bumpy and sloppy. Someone is pressing the brake, another person is pressing the accelerator. Until God takes full control of the driver’s corner of the vehicle of your life, you might not record any meaningful movement in life. The person would just be going round the same circle day after day.

Most of the people who ended up great in the scripture released their lives 100% to God. When there was a severe famine in the land and Isaac was contemplating going to Egypt, the moment God told him in Gen 26:3 that, “Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee.” Isaac never bothered relocating again. Bible says he sowed in that land and reaped a 100 fold harvest that same year. King David never relied on his own wisdom, but was always consulting God before taking any decision especially as it relates to going to the battlefront.

Stop insisting on having it your own way. Jonah almost died while trying to do so. You are the clay, God is the potter, ask Him to have His way, because His ways might not be the smoothest but it is higher and better than our ways.

Remain blessed!
