NOW IS THE TIME

December 1, 2014

I feel very sad anytime I see an elderly person doing hard labors. With my cultural background, we were trained to always assist old people when doing hard labor, but they are just too much these days, I wish I had a home to take care of them, because if I have to be carrying their loads for them, then mine might be left undone. We were also taught that, whoever plays his or her youthful age away would end up serving his or her peers. With this last statement, one could easily conclude that anyone still hustling at age 70 and above must have played his youth away.

Well, we might be right and we might be wrong, especially going by the words of the wise man in Ecc 9:11 that, “The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” However, my take is that the best time to take care of today was yesterday, and the best time to take of tomorrow is today. Jesus said in John 9:4 that, “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”

Lam 3:27 says, “It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.” The message translation says, “It’s a good thing when you are young, to stick it out through the hard times.” This is the time to work. Even the scripture says he that doesn’t work should eat. I guess that is why those who refuse to work end up begging to eat. Whatsoever your hands findeth to do, sir/ma, do it with all thine might.

Someone asked me when things would become better. I told him, as long as you keep doing the good, it will become better one day.

Don’t be tired!

IT IS A PRIVILEGE

November 30, 2014

It is a privilege for your boss at work to give you a ride home if you do not have a car yet. You would agree with me that it is not your right at all. It is also a very great privilege if your employer gives you transport allowance, some employers don’t. There are some things that we as believers should cherish greatly because, they are not our rights but privileges. One of such things is serving God. Many people find it hard to make themselves available for the use of God, not knowing that it is a privilege to be used of God.

Our major duty as believers is to worship and worship and worship God. Remember when Moses went to seek the release of the children of Israel, the mandate was, “Let my people go, that they may worship Me.” In Luke 19, when Jesus was entering Jerusalem, multitudes began to praise and worship Jesus. This got the Pharisees angry, they said, “Master, rebuke your disciples.” Immediately, Jesus said, “I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.”

Excuse me sir, that you are the only one always around to arrange the chairs before the service is a privilege. God can raise up stones to do that. Ma, stop complaining you are the only one washing the toilet in the church, if you resign today, God can raise up stones to wash that same toilet. And if you feel when you are not around, it won’t be done, you are so wrong, God can raise up stones to lead praise, play the instruments, pray and even preach. An invitation to service in the house of God is an invitation to promotion.

Exo 23:25-26 says, “And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.” In case you don’t have anything doing for God yet, it is high time you woke up and get connected.

You are blessed in Jesus Name. Amen!

KNOW YOUR SOURCE

November 29, 2014

There is no greater frustration than looking for something and not know where to get it. If the only market you know is a fish market, would it not be stupid to go there and be asking for laptop spares? My son already knows that coming to me for breast milk is like asking the deaf for earphones. Many people are going about life depressed because they do not know the source of what they are looking for, and as a result of that, they keep going from pillar to post.

Our only source as believers is God Almighty. Bible says, heaven and earth belong to Him. Another part of the Bible in Hag 2:8 says, “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.” Jesus said in Matt 11:28 that, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest,” because God the Father is in Him and He is also in God the Father (John 14:11). Many of the people who enjoyed the grace loaded in the earthly ministry of Jesus knew Him as their only source.

When the son of the widow of Zarephath in 1 King 17 died, the woman never bothered going to anyone because she knew the source of the child. She ran to Prophet Elijah for help and she was not disappointed. She understood that it’s an act of foolishness and an invitation to humiliation to take your Blackberry mobile phone to a Nokia store for repair. Jokingly, I do say, your source determines the kind of sauce you eat. I guess that is what Dan 11:32 means that, “But the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”

If your source is a man, I say, “Welcome to the land of limitation,” but if God is your source, David said, “They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth forever.”

Selah!

LIVE YOUR OWN LIFE

November 28, 2014

A veterinary doctor friend shared a story of a dog that was brought to her clinic with fractured hind limb. The owner of the dog lives on the second floor of a 2-storey building. Suddenly, some birds came and were doing flight stunts which thrilled the poor dog. The dog started chasing them.  After a while, the birds jumped and flew away, the dog must have also thought it could fly too, jumped up and flew only to land on the ground with a broken leg luckily for him. This story made me realize why many are frustrated, unfulfilled and depressed.

Someone said, the best you can be trying to be like someone else is second best. It is so sad that most of us now live competitively, and this is gradually sapping our creative abilities and natural talents away. I discovered that most of the people who lived great lives in the Bible never tried living like someone else. The day a snake starts copying an eagle is the day it stops living. Apostle Paul said in 1 Thess 4:11a (MSG) that, “Stay calm; mind your own business; do your own job.”

Why should you be ridiculing God by comparing yourself with another man, when God has said what He has in stock for you is what no eyes hath ever seen; no ears ever heard and no man ever thought about it? 2 Cor 10:12 (ESV) says, “Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.”

We all have our different mission to fulfill here on earth, and until you stop competing and start living your own life, you will never fulfill destiny. You have such great potential, but if you refuse to take yourself serious and stop copying someone else, you will die like an ordinary human.

Be real!

SPARK IT UP

November 27, 2014

Do you remember those times we do shoot “knock-outs” during festive periods? The fireworks tool only works when we light it up and then it starts sounding. I know of some friends who were always scared to the extent that they never shot theirs and for months it remained with them. It wasn’t that the firework object wasn’t good or not sounding well, but they were not ready to take the risk of shooting it.

Many tongue talking, chair throwing believers who carry so much deposit of greatness on the inside of them, are still walking about as mere men even though, Psalm 82:6 says, “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.” When the seventy two people that Jesus sent out came back, Bible says they returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.” (Luke 10:17) The seventy two never knew what they carried until it was put to use. Don’t forget they never took any money with them, but never lacked.

God has equipped you with all that’s needed for you to become great in life, but you have a very key role to play. Stop focusing on what others have that you don’t have, sir, you have what they don’t have. Someone said, you don’t value what you have until you lose it. You are the light of this world, but no light shines until someone switches it on. Spark up the greatness in you. Stop burying your talent and potential, start using it from today. The more Jesus kept going about doing what God sent Him here to do, the more impacts He made.

The more you use the talent and skill deposited in you, the better you become, the more your impact and the higher you climb, because the one that starts a fire cannot tell how big it would become. Remember, the entire world is waiting for your manifestation!

Don’t disappoint God!

GODLINESS

November 26, 2014

For every child of God, there is a throne to occupy, which is why the Bible makes us understand that the entire world is waiting for our manifestations. But, one of the tactics of Satan in dethroning believers and making us not to become who God has created us to become is ungodliness. The devil is trying everything in his capacity to see to it that we do not ascend that throne which is why he is always going about looking for ways to trap us so that he can devour, because his mission is to steal, kill and destroy.

King David had it going super for him until the devil succeeded in luring him into an adulterous relationship with Bathsheba. After that incident, King David spent some time running around and staying in the bush. Righteousness and greatness are always walking together. Today, we are all talking about Jesus, just because He was righteous. He said in John 14:30 that, “for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.” He was blameless. No wonder He went about doing good and performing diverse miracles, for God was with Him.

Bible says Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile himself. Despite how sinful that generation was, Daniel was sinless and this earned him a great throne. As much as the covenant is there that the least in the kingdom would be greater than John the Baptist, sin could block this covenant from working because sin sinks. It dethrones, while godliness empowers to manifest. If you have being overcome again and again by sin, there is way out – cry out for mercy and Jesus will rescue you.

Get rid of all the little, little foxes that spoil the vine. This will you cost you your pleasure, relationship with others or any other form of discomfort. However, the price you pay cannot be compared to the glory that awaits you in the end. Don’t because of today’s temporal enjoyment dethrone yourself.

Be wise!

BY THEIR FRUITS – 2

November 25, 2014

You might not know the name of a tree when it hasn’t started bearing fruits, but the moment you start seeing fruits on it, you can easily say, “this is an apple tree.” Even if grafting was done and an orange tree starts bearing apple, because what you see on it is apple, you would naturally call it an apple tree. When we see a car in the middle of the road with the front wheel torn apart, there is a brand name that easily comes to mind. People should be able to tell we are believers by our fruits.

One of such fruit is love as stated in Gal 5:22. You cannot convince me you are a believer and yet you find it hard to love. Bible says in 1 John 4:8, “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” It is natural for the son of a wicked man to be wicked. So, it then means it should be natural for the son of the loving Father to be a loving child. There are many verses of the Bible where out of love, Jesus did some very great miracles.

Love restores. How can you love God when you find it hard loving the man beside you genuinely? We claim we love God and when someone around us errs, instead of bringing them back to the God we claim to love, we nail them to the cross. We are the ones who would rather bury a dying man than help him get back to life. We claim we love but see our fellow man hurting and we blind our eyes to it. As lovers, we should stop condemning and judging fellow men when Jesus said, “Judge not!”

Love God, love your spouse, love your neighbor, love your enemies, love your nation, love your leaders and love your followers. Remember that every tree that refuses to bear fruit (love) will be chopped down!

Be wise!

NO LIMIT

November 24, 2014

In the corporate world, there is a limit to the height some set of people can climb, as a result of either their academic qualification or leadership capability. When you want to obtain a bank loan, after much discussion, the next thing is tell you the limit of the amount you are entitled to. In politics, there is a limit you can climb especially if you are of a certain age. But in Christ, there is no limit but the sky.

The scripture says that God has laid before each and every one of us life and death (Deut 30:19), which is why Jesus even restated it that His coming is so that we don’t just have life, but we have abundant life (John 10:10). As a stranger in the land, there was a limit to what height Joseph could climb. Ordinarily, it has never been in record that a stranger rose to become the Prime Minister in that land, but because within us lies everything we ever dream of being, Joseph dreamt it and became it.

There is no limit except for the one we create through unbelief, doubt and fear. Jesus couldn’t do much miracles in His own country because of their unbelief (Matt 13:58). When those folks in Gen 11 decided to build a tower that would reach up to heaven, Bible says when God saw what they were doing and how determined they were, He knew there was no limit to what they were going to achieve which was why he scattered their plan. Had God not scattered that plan, maybe that building would still be in existence today.

Many people will tell you it can’t be done. Some will say it has never been done. But I tell you that with God, all things are possible. There would be obstacles and challenges along the way, but in the words of Apostle Paul, forget the things that are behind keep looking ahead because if you can believe, you can achieve it.

TAKE THE LIMITS OFF!

GREATNESS IS IN YOU

November 22, 2014

One of the most frustrating things in life is to have something and not know you have it, or have no idea as to how to use it. Recently, I was attending a meeting and I needed to write, but I didn’t know I had a pen in my pocket, so I had to start asking my colleagues for help. It was right then it dawned on me that so many of us believers are kings walking the street like tramps because we do not know what we carry.

No wonder the writer of Ecclesiastes said folly is set in great dignity, ‘cos servants are the ones riding on horses while princes are walking the street like servants. (Ecc 10:5-7) I’d like you to understand that God has deposited greatness in you so much that when great people look at you, they marvel. At a point, when professors and doctors heard Jesus talking, they were so dazed that they said, “what kind of wisdom is this?”

You might have the same physical features like every other persons around you, but may I tell you sir, that you are different, because the scripture says, you are wonderfully and fearfully made. Jesus said in Matt 11:11 that, “Verily I say unto you, among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: NOTWITHSTANDING HE THAT IS LEAST IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS GREATER THAN HE.” Did you hear that? The secret of kingdom greatness therefore is to become a citizen of the kingdom of heaven.

No wonder Jesus said in Matt 6:33 that, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things (food, money, clothing and greatness inclusive) shall be added unto you.” God gave each and every one of us the mandate of greatness and dominion in Gen 1:28, so it is left to you to walk in it by putting God first in all you do.

Remain lifted!

KNOWING THE UNKNOWN

November 21, 2014

If every other persons around you, in your class or in your line of business, know exactly what you know, then I want to say you do not have any edge over them. What you can do with what you know is what sets you apart from others. But I have seen that the system of this world is such that if I choose to, I can know what the other guy next door knows. But, when God is involved, you end up knowing what would later become a curriculum you will be the one to teach.

Every other persons attended the university same way Ben Carson did. They all took the same classes, maybe read the same books and graduated with same grade. But in his book, “The Gifted Hands,” the young man said his discoveries stemmed from God’s wisdom and revelation. Revelation precedes transfiguration. There is a better way to do what you are doing, which no one would ever teach you, but God can make that way known to you, because it is only those that know their God that shall do exploits.

Jesus was faced with a situation where there were 5000 hungry souls, and all they had was just 5 loaves of bread and 2 pieces of fish. Jesus asked where bread could be bought not because He wanted to buy, but as written in John 6:6 that, “And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.” You are only permitted never to be confused, stranded or cheated if you know what others don’t know, and you cannot know asking mortal men because 1 Cor 2:11 says, “For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.”

You have been given to know divine mysteries, but you cannot know unless the Spirit of God reveals to you.

LIVING AN OUTSTANDING LIFE

November 20, 2014

Every human want to be outstanding in life. Someone prayed a prayer recently that, “Where others are standing, you will stand out, where there are many people standing out, you will be outstanding, and when there are many outstanding people, you will become the standard.” Overall, it is all about being the best in life. Isn’t that God’s plan for us as well? Matt 5:14 says, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”

However, no man can be outstanding without having excellent understanding. And most times, to have that understanding needed to be outstanding, you have to be obedient, because instructions precede promotion. Deut 28:1 says, “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth.”

When talking about men who lived outstanding lives while here on earth, we would make mention of Daniel. Dan 1:17b says, “Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.” It was so much that when he finished interpreting Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, the king worshiped him. Bible says Daniel was ten times better than all the other astrologers and magicians. Wonder where he got the understanding from? God gave him. Dan 2:22 says, “He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.”

The difference between an average and an excellent student, is what they know. Until you know better, you cannot be known better, which is why I urge you to go to Jehovah and ask for this kind of understanding that stands out. Dan 1:17 says God gave Daniel the understanding he possessed, and Jesus said, “Ask, and you shall receive.” May you from henceforth be referred to as “Man/Woman of angelic understanding.”

Keep shining!

HAVE YOUR WAY LORD

November 19, 2014

When a woodcarver goes to the forest to cut a tree, anyone that sees him would just greet him and pass by, but by the time he starts chiseling and smoothing, people start wondering what he is doing. By the time he is done, whatever image he has carved out of the seemingly useless tree, becomes so adorable that people start offering him money to buy it. But I have never seen a case where the wood would say to the carver, “Don’t carve me into this shape.” The person with the chisel determines what image would come out best from that wood.

Many of us sing the song, “Jesus take the wheel,” but some still have their foot on the brake pedal, while some on the accelerator pedal. Little wonder why the ride is always bumpy and sloppy. Someone is pressing the brake, another person is pressing the accelerator. Until God takes full control of the driver’s corner of the vehicle of your life, you might not record any meaningful movement in life. The person would just be going round the same circle day after day.

Most of the people who ended up great in the scripture released their lives 100% to God. When there was a severe famine in the land and Isaac was contemplating going to Egypt, the moment God told him in Gen 26:3 that, “Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee.” Isaac never bothered relocating again. Bible says he sowed in that land and reaped a 100 fold harvest that same year. King David never relied on his own wisdom, but was always consulting God before taking any decision especially as it relates to going to the battlefront.

Stop insisting on having it your own way. Jonah almost died while trying to do so. You are the clay, God is the potter, ask Him to have His way, because His ways might not be the smoothest but it is higher and better than our ways.

Remain blessed!

YES YOU CAN!

November 18, 2014

Imagine a dark room with no light switches and no electric bulb. Suddenly someone lights a candle and there is little light. Without wasting much time, others join in and light theirs as well, and soon the room is well illuminated. When some of us hear, “Ye are the light of the world,” we ask ourselves, “Can I, this little me, make a difference in this terrible and dangerous world?” It gets worse when you have a God-given task to do and while trying to recruit volunteers, you hear stuffs like, “This nation is bad, and there is nothing people like you can do about it, only God can help us.”

If you are not sure of who has asked you to go ahead, you might get talked out of doing what God has asked you to do. But as small and cheap a biro could be, it can change destinies. Put it in the hand of a billionaire and let him sign you a cheque of a million dollars. Or, put it in the hand of a governor and let him award that multi-million dollar contract to you. Don’t belittle yourself ‘cos mightier, stronger and greater is He that is in you that the one in this world. Need I remind you that you were made in the image and likeness of God (Gen 1:26). In other words, the God-kind of nature is in you.

Bible says Jesus went about doing good (that’s the God kind of nature). Someone said you are the light of the world, don’t die a street light. The scripture says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matt 5:16). You can change the world if you would become the connection between God and the hurting, the hoping, the hungry, the tired, the depressed, the dying, the crying, or the haunted human you will come close to today.

Be the change – Yes you can!

WRITE THE SCRIPT OR WATCH THE MOVIE!

November 17, 2014

While narrating my experience to my colleague recently of how I would have something in mind, and while still brooding over it, I would see someone else doing same thing already. He laughed and said he has experienced such more than five times. I then discovered that most of us, especially believers are always the most affected. Because God desires change on earth, and we are God’s agents of change, He would always give us transformational ideas, but it is left to us to either make it work or not.

The moment you know what you want to be, where you want to go and what you want to accomplish, don’t waste any more time. You either write the script or watch the movie. If you write the script, you earn the credit, if not, you remain a watcher. We all have God-given talents and gifts, start using them. It might be tough and rough especially in this “competitive” world that humans have created, but you need to understand that you are not in competition with anybody but yourself.

Some of us are always waiting for that perfect day. Bible says in Ecc 11:4, “Don’t sit there watching the wind. Do your own work. Don’t stare at the clouds. Get on with your life. (MSG)” Make use of every moment. The sad thing is, if you start delaying, because God desires change on earth, He looks for another ready vessel to execute.  I am not saying you should recklessly pursue your dreams with ill preparation, I am saying once you know what you have been called to do (as revealed by your Creator), the best time to start is now because every single day counts.

Always remember that a day is coming when you will account for every gift used, abused, misused and unused.

Be wise!

DON’T REASON IT

November 16, 2014

It amazes me how little children handle directives. When you tell a little child, go, he doesn’t ask you, why he should go, he goes. But when you tell someone like me to go, I would end up making you go instead, because, by the time I am done asking you the why, the how, the when, etc., questions, you would rather have me stay back. In the believer’s world, I have discovered that one of the things that limits us in obtaining God’s best is we reason divine instructions out.

When the prophet told that honorable man named Naaman in 2 Kings 5 to go wash in Jordan seven times, Bible says the man was angry. The man said in verse 11, “Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.” He had forgotten that God’s ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts far greater than ours. Thank God he had a wonderful servant who helped him realize that he should just do as told and stop making sense out of it.

In the book of 2 Kings 4, the woman’s problem was indebtedness. When God was going to solve it, He said through the prophet that she should go borrow more vessels. The most amazing part of that story is where the prophet told the woman, to lock the door, and start pouring the oil from the small bottle into the vessels she had borrowed and that the oil would not stop. Technically, this doesn’t sound sensible. But I love that woman, in that, she never asked how. Bible says she did as instructed and the oil stopped flowing the moment her vessels were all filled.

I have discovered that faith is in most cases senseless but the gains are endless, but IF you are willing and obedient, you WILL eat the good of the land.

Remain blessed!

ALL WILL BE WELL

November 15, 2014

All will be well has become one of the most spoken words in Christianity. But for many of us, this makes us a bit confused. Imagine someone who just lost his job and all the person keeps hearing is, “All will be well.” How? When? All will be well would sound like rubbish in the ears of a graduate who has been looking for job for more than five years without any green light. But today, I have come to make you understand that no matter what your situation is, all can and all will be well.

In 2 Kings 4, after Elisha had helped the Shunammite woman pay her debt by asking her to go borrow vessels and start pouring from the little bottle she had until there was no more flow. He went a step further and decreed that the woman was going to have a son in a year’s time. It happened that way, but one day, the boy had slight headache and from there, he passed on. When the woman got to where Elisha was, Gehazi met her and asked if all was well, the woman said, “It is well.” In the end, all was well with her child.

When the axe head the sons of the prophets borrowed in 2 Kings 6 fell into the water, while they were trying to fall beams needed to make a bigger house, Bible says in verse 5 that , “Alas, master! For it was borrowed.” In his mind, he thought all hope was lost, the thought of all could ever be well never popped up in his head. But God showed that all will be well no matter what the situation is. It wasn’t a magnet that was used to attract the axe head but a stick. God used that scenario to show all will be well no matter what.

I don’t know what it is you are going through, hear this, ALL WILL BE WELL because GOD WILL SORT YOU OUT!

Just believe.

NAME YOUR SITUATION CORRECTLY

November 14, 2014

Many of us have this habit of always saying negative things whenever we are faced with any form of challenge. You hear people especially those of the household of faith say stuffs like, “I am done for,” “It is finished,” etc. What most of us don’t realize is that there is power in the tongue especially that of a believer, so what we say matters.

In Gen 2, when God finished forming the beasts of the field and the birds of the air, Bible says He asked Adam to name them. Verse 19 of that scripture says, “And whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.” If Adam had named a goat a chimpanzee, that would have been the name. A dog would have been called a snake if Adam had named it such. In verse 23, Adam named what was made out of him Woman, even when God never told him he was to name her woman, and till this very day, that’s what we call them.

It then means that whatever name you give your situation is what it answers to, because the scripture says there is death and life in the power of the tongue. You might say you are faced with several challenges, but don’t forget that the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal (2 Cor 4:18), because through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear (Heb 11:3).

The servant at that wedding in Cana knew it was water he collected from Jesus, but because Jesus said it was wine, he went ahead and served. You might not yet be earning millions, but that doesn’t mean you should be calling yourself poor and wretched because whatever you call yourself is what your spirit understands and in turn supplies you energy to become what you named yourself.

Be wise!

FULFILL PURPOSE

November 13, 2014

I am sure you have heard it more than a million times that there is a purpose why we are all here. There is a task that the Father wants each and every one of us to take care of. I tell people that we are all puzzle pieces, we make the game complete. I am sure you have at one time or the other enjoyed good music in church, and that is because the drummers, keyboardist, saxophonist, guitarist and every other musicians were present and doing what they know how to do best.

When Jesus released Himself to be crucified, some people said in Luke 23:35 that, “He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.” They wanted Jesus to still remain with them, but they had forgotten that there was a certain purpose for which He was sent here – to die for the sins of the world. Jesus said in Matt 26:53 & 54, “Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?”

Do you know that many of us are still running after money and other material things of this life at the expense of our purpose? Sir/ma, there is always divine provision for every God-ordained commission. Jesus went about fulfilling purpose and in turn, He would sleep in the large upper room (presidential suite I suppose), ride in a special boat (boat with a pillow) and other small boats would be around just in case one breaks down, ride on a new donkey, have so many fans and followers. At a point, they wanted Him to become their king, but He fled.

Would you like to be great in life? Do you desire fame and affluence? Would you like to bring smiles on the faces of people? Fulfill purpose and you will accomplish all of these and more.

Arise! Shine!

EXPRESSION OF LOVE

November 12, 2014

The scripture says that love is the fulfilment of the commandments. In other words, other commandments hang on love. If you truly love God, you won’t steal what doesn’t belong to you because you are aware of the commandment that states that, “Thou shall not steal.” This is why the Apostle John said in 1 John 4:7 that, “He who doesn’t practice love doesn’t know God, because God is love.” But I have seen that, “I love you” is one of the most said statements you hear around these days. Most people are very quick to say it, but the truth of the matter is that love is mostly expressed in action and not always in words. It is easier said than done.

When you look at the life of Jesus, you would understand what it truly means to love because the Master demonstrated what love means. Because of love, He healed the sick (Matt 14:14), fed the hungry (Mar 6:30-44), and most importantly died for an unknown sin but known reward. Most unbelievers would get to know the extent of the love of Christ for them through a believer’s expression of love towards them. We are Christ’ representatives here on earth, so we must use every opportunity we have to showcase Christ to people.

1 John 3:17 says, “But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?” Love shares, love gives and sacrifices. You cannot love God and say unto thy neighbour, “Go, and come again, and tomorrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.” (Prov 3:28) You might not have everything, but you have something. “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.” (Prov 3:27)

Be a smile giver today, a hope restorer and a true expression of Christ’ love to humans.

Keep soaring!

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF – 3

November 11, 2014

There is a popular story of a boy who found an eagle’s egg and put it in the nest of a chicken. The eagle hatched and thought that he was a chicken. He grew up doing what the chickens do – scattering the dirt for food and flying short distances with a noisy fluttering of wings. One day he went out and saw a beautiful bird soaring on the currents of the air and dancing in the sky high above the mountains. “Oh, I wish I could fly like that!” said the eagle. The chicken replied, “Don’t give it another thought. That’s the mighty eagle, the king of all birds – you could never be like him, you are an ordinary chicken!”

The eagle gave it no more thought from that moment and went on cackling and complaining about life. The eagle died thinking he was a chicken. When God wanted to use Moses in delivering the children of Israel from Pharaoh, He had to configure him to believe in himself before he could send him out. Moses never believed he was the right candidate for that job. He thought he had just a rod in his hand but when he saw the rod turn to snake, Moses became a self-believer (Exo 4). Through that rod, so many other miracles were done.

The only person who is permitted to pull you down is YOU because God created you for dominion. There is royalty in you. You are a lender unto nations. You are success personified. Norman Vincent Peale said, “Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers, you cannot be successful or happy.” If you don’t believe in yourself, no one would believe you! There is a deposit of greatness in you that the world hasn’t witnessed before (1 Cor 2:9).

George Elliot said, “It is never too late to be what you might have been.”

Enjoy!

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF – 2

November 10, 2014

There is a difference between being arrogant and confident. The concept of believing in yourself isn’t promoting arrogance. It is aimed at sparking up the great deposit of potential in you. No matter how rich a land is in oil, until you bore into the earth and create an oil well designed to bring petroleum oil hydrocarbons to the surface, the land remains ordinary. I believe in you because Bible says the whole world is waiting for your manifestation (Rom 8:19), but it takes believing in yourself first to take steps of faith.

When Elisha was returning from where he just saw his master taken away right before him, Bible says when he got to the bank of river Jordan, he used the mantle in smiting the water and it parted. Wonderful! Second Moses! Remember what Elisha asked for in 2 Kings 2:9, “Let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.” Had he not believed in himself as the double Elijah, he would have got stuck at the river bank. No wonder even our Lord Jesus said in John 14:12 that, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

You have amazing and wonderful potentials in you that the world never witnessed before. It doesn’t matter how old you are or how rough and tough things were or are, sir/ma, GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN YOU than the one in this world. Maximize your potential. You are an EXTRAORDINARY BEING. The gene of God is in you and God never failed and CAN NEVER fail. Don’t be scared. Many of us fear the best more than we fear the worst. We fear greatness more than we fear littleness. If not so, why are you scared of starting that business? Why are you scared of launching that idea? Why?

Arise, shine, for YOUR LIGHT has COME!
