One of the
titles that I have personally accorded God is “The unusual God.” To be unusual
means not common, nor ordinary and exceptional. Isa 55:8-9 says, “For my
thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your
ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
In 2Kings 5, there
was a great man who was referred to as a mighty man of valor, but he was a
leper. When he got to the office of Elisha to receive his healing, he was
expecting the man of God to come out but he didn’t, instead, he sent his messenger
to him. To make matters worse, the man of God asked the noble and great Naaman
to go wash in dirty, stinking Jordan seven times. Naaman was angry, but his
servant understood that when God is set to do something great, He can do it anyhow.
If Naaman had refused to go wash, He would have remained a great leper for the
rest of his lives.
In John 9,
Jesus was passing by and then saw a man born blind. I am sure the people with
Jesus and even the blind man must have been expecting that the Savior of the
world would just say, “Blind eyes, open,” but in John 9:6, He spat on the
ground, made a clay of the spittle and he anointed the eyes of the blind man
with the clay, and said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam. Hehehe, what
a way to open blind eyes? Thank God the blind man didn’t argue, he would have died
blind.
The usual
thing we know about God is that He is a miracle working God, but His miraculous
acts are exceptionally unusual. In the name that is above every other name, I
decree, in an uncommon and exceptional way, God will sort you out in Jesus
Name. Amen!
