KEEP ON GOING ON

May 16, 2013
It is a fact that life can be overwhelming sometimes. The continual pressure that one goes through on a daily basis at times tends to worsen the situation. Sometimes, it gets to the height of it that one just screams out, “I can’t take this/do this no more. I am tired.”

It may be in reference to a job, in our marriage, as regards a business endeavor or anything. Most times we say things like this when we are troubled, sick and tired or we just don’t see any reason to still be alive. Maybe there is no peace in the home, the economy of the land is terrible, and clients are no more calling because there is no money in town and all, so we just assume that the reason for living is all gone.

In the Bible are stories of ordinary men like you and I who despite the troubles, challenges and issues they went through, refused to give up on themselves and their situations but held on and later became great men.

Apostle Paul was a great example of someone who kept on going on. Despite the torment, persecution, depression and attack, he never looked back. He knew there was a price ahead and he never let go. He knew weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning.

Luk 9:62 say “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Friends, even as we go about our daily lives, always remember that looking back takes aback. Pressing on moves on. One day you shall move onto your land of glory in Jesus Name.

Heb 12:2 says “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Jesus could have said “I’m doing this no more.” But He kept on enduring the pain from the nailing process, drinking of vinegar, being beaten and all, but today we all worship Him all over the world.

If you would just keep on going on without looking at the scars, soon and very soon, the world will celebrate you in Jesus Name. Amen!

TAKE CHARGE

May 15, 2013

As believers, there are some things that belong to us but we are yet to take delivery of. The foundational truth is that on a daily basis, God loads us with benefits. There are some new grounds that should be broken into. There are thrones waiting to be seated upon.

Psa 68:19 says that, blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. For every believer, there are daily benefits that have been specially prepared for us. We must experience favor on a daily basis, however, these benefits won’t come cheap.

The reason is because we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph 6:12). That is why 1Pet 5:8 says “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”

The devil does not want you to have any testimony, which is why you need to take charge yourself. Understand that God wishes you well that is why 3Jhn1:2 says “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

God wants the best for you. He has already made provisions for that, it is left to you to stand up and take charge or keep been a handball in the hands of your enemies. You need to get violent in your spirit and refuse to be ridiculed or cheated. When you want to command your dog to sit down, you say it authoritatively. That’s what I am talking about today, take authority over every situation that doesn’t glorify God in your life.

You are a child of God and you ought not to be trampled upon. You have the word of power in your mouth – Speak it. Henceforth, God has given unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven in Jesus Name. Amen!

ARISE AND PRAY

May 14, 2013

I recently heard the story of a woman that said that in her family, they are bookworms. She went further to say that all the children in that family were always coming out with “A” grades.  She said that almost all of them in the family are chartered or have completed their professional certificate in all their chosen careers. However, she said that none of them can boast of a roof over his or her head except her.

Thank God for the power of prayer that got this woman delivered and today she said she is the bread winner in that house.

There is no point been brilliant without having any result to show for it. What is the point in graduating on top of the class yet jobless for years? What is the sense in been called a beautiful and goodly to behold lady, yet at 35 years of age, there is no suitor? What is the essence of been called a child of God, yet you are a regular object of molestation and ridicule in the hands of Satan? What is the essence of having a business office in the most profitable area of the town, yet you experience the lowest and profitless patronage in town.

Friends, listen to me very well, the enemy does not want you to shine, it is your job to determine within yourself that whether the devil likes it or not, you will shine. We all quote Isaiah 60:1 that says “Arise, Shine.” But there is a point to note there which is that you must arise. To arise is a personal decision. It is like waking up during a cold morning, you can decide to keep sleeping or you stand up to go out.

I am urging us to arise and pray. Arise and take charge. Arise and take authority over every stain on your garment. Arise and claim back your throne. Arise and refuse to be tossed up and down by the enemies.

I pray that henceforth, you cease to be an object of reproach and shame in the hands of the enemies in Jesus Name. Amen!

DIVINE SUSTENANCE

May 13, 2013

During the time of war in Liberia, a preacher gave a testimony that rebels were being used to feed them. They came with food stuffs and asked his wife to be their cook which gave them automatic access to eating good food.

In the book of Exodus 16 chapter 16, the children of Israel were out of food, money, or anything they could use to keep themselves alive. At that point, they became very aggressive and started murmuring.

However, because our God does not forsake, He told Moses in verse 4, “I will rain bread from heaven for you.” When it comes to the case of God’s children, He is ready to do anything to make sure they are well taken care of. In verse 35, the Bible says “And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years.” In order words, for forty years, the children of Israel had no need to worry about food scarcity or money to buy ingredients because they were getting already made meal.

In 1Kings chapter 17, Prophet Elijah said that no rain or dew shall drop in the land until he says so. His statement was honored by God and not a single drop of rain or dew fell. As a result of this, famine became the order of the day. But the Prophet was divinely sustained during that terrible period.

In verse 6, ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook. When the brook dried up because rain did not fall in the land, Elijah did not feel the heat of that situation as there was already a plan to have him sustained. Verse 9 says and the Lord told the Prophet, “Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.”

For him that is joined to the living, you can never run out of provisions, God will always make a way for that person. He will sure do something to just make sure that person is satisfied. I pray for you that God will sustain you every moment of your life in Jesus Name. Amen!

HUMILITY

May 12, 2013
Wikipedia defines it as the quality of being modest and respectful. It is derived from the Latin word humilitas meaning lowliness or submissiveness. Jas 4:10 says “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”

C.S. Lewis said that humility is not thinking less of yourself, it is thinking of yourself less. It was pride that changed angels into devils; it is humility that makes men as angels. Humility is the foundation of all other virtues hence, in the soul in which the virtue does not exist there cannot be any other virtue except in mere appearance.

In the school of Spirit, wisdom is gotten by humility. Humility is not cowardice, but a spiritual power. Humility is the opposite of aggressiveness, arrogance and boastfulness. Rather than “Me first”, humility would rather say “You first, my friend”. Humility comes with the knowledge that the God’s creation as a whole transcends our narrow interests.

Lack of humility got Pharaoh destroyed. Asides only him getting destroyed, he used his own arrogance to destroy thousands of souls. Arrogant words inflame prejudice and hatred, but humble speech soothes. Prov 15: 1-2 says “

It is only with humility that we can truly worship God and acknowledge that He created all for His purpose and not for self-glorification. By humility, we cool the angry passion of others. By humility, we can turn enemies into friends.

Pro 22:4 says” By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honor, and life.” In order words, it takes humility to be rich, great and honorable in life because God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble and without grace; the race of a man will be perfumed with failure and shame.

The truth is what would be gained by humility far exceeds what pride would bring. Be humble, show respect, put others first, speak ill of no one, look down on no one and in no time, you head shall be lifted in Jesus Name.

THE TRUTH

May 11, 2013

John 8:32 says “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Many times in our lives, we remain on the same spot not because it is the design of God for our lives but because we chose to remain on the same spot. God never intended that we remain in bondage or not make progress in life.

One of the reasons why we seem to remain on the same spot is the fact that we have so much been exposed to what we have been told by the people of this world and have forgotten the instruction that we are in this world but should not conform to this world.

The people of this world work with fact, but as children of God, we work with the truth of the word of God. The fact is that there is economic depression and businesses are having a hard time making ends meet, but the truth of the matter is that your source is Jehovah Jireh and He is never limited by economic depression or financial crackdown or meltdown.

The truth of the word of God is that key that opens the door of greatness and shuts the door of shame and reproach forever. When you are equipped with the truth in the word of God, you are empowered to trample upon snakes and serpents and they will do you no harm.

Apostle Peter knew the truth about the word of God that says that greater works than these shall ye do. No wonder, he was able to perform great and mighty miracles.

Knowing the truth makes life easier for us to go through. Knowing that by His stripes you were healed gives an understanding that even before sickness came, healing has been in existence and as such it is your heritage.

As you take time to dig out truths about your life in the word of God, I pray that your life will begin to show forth His glory in a mighty way in Jesus Name. Amen.

THE SEEING EYES

May 10, 2013

I have come to understand that there are eyes and there are eyes. There is this series I love so much – Psych. It is about two guys who called themselves psychics and were solving criminal cases for the state police department. Apparently the one with the supposed psychic power only has great eyes for details. He sees what others are not seeing.

Gen 13:14-15 says “And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever.” Thank God Abram had seeing eyes, if not he would have limited himself by what he saw that day.

Luk 11:34 says “The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.”

Our eyes play a very vital role in our journey through life. Most of us miss out in life because we do not see that which we ought to see. Mar 8:18a says “Having eyes, see ye not?” Someone said many look, few see. I am talking about the eyes of your mind.

Seeing is a deliberate and intentional act of choosing what to look at. You can look and not see, but you can’t see and not look. What you see is what you get. The seeing eyes see the end of a matter from the beginning by the help of the Holy Ghost. That is why the same land – Redemption Camp, that other people would never go for has become a place where nations come to worship God.

If all you see is sickness, poverty, lack, want, disappointment and all, and you expect to experience wealth, health, abundance and favor, then you must be joking. Your eyes determine how far you go in life.

I pray today that every covering over your eyes be removed so you can behold the glory of the Lord in the land of the living in Jesus Name. Amen!

MORNING TIME

May 10, 2013

Psa 30:5b says “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

Morning here does not mean the usual morning, but it means the time when your status changes. The morning time for Lazarus’ sisters was when Jesus woke up their brother from the grave. It was a moment of joy for them. Morning time for blind Bartimaeus was when he regained his sight. For Namaan, his morning broke forth the moment he got healed of his leprosy.

Weeping signifies pain, struggle and labor. Weeping is a product of lack, unfruitful life, shame, reproach, disappointment and all negative things you can ever imagine. For someone like Rachael, she was always weeping and been in a sorrow activated mood because she had no child of her own. Her morning time came the moment her womb was opened and she conceived.

Morning comes after the night. Night season is a season of darkness, evil, horror and uncertainty, while morning time is a refreshing time and a time of clarity. Morning time is a cool and fresh moment.

When the morning of a man shows forth, the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD. (Joel 3:18) Generally, the man becomes a new person. His endeavors begin to yield good results. He becomes an instant amazement to his generation.

Morning time is a time of rejoicing. For a woman in the delivery room, that period before delivery would be a time of weeping, but the moment the baby is been delivered, you see uncommon joy written on the face of the woman signifying the arrival of her morning time.

I pray for you that your night season is over. Welcome to your season of unending morning time in Jesus Name. Amen!

GIVE THANKS

May 8, 2013

Sometimes because of the pressure of “I just want this now”, we end up as “askers” alone and not “thankers”. Do you know that giving thanks stands God up? Please don’t get me wrong, I am not saying prayer is a futile effort, but I am sure you have heard someone saying try praise if prayer seems not to be working.

Jesus demonstrated this when he was to feed the five thousand with five loaves of bread. Meister Eckhart said “If the only prayer you said in your life was “thank you,” that would suffice.”

A great servant of God told us that as he was preparing to minister during a crusade, his son gave up the ghost. He said he had the option of staying back and praying the boy comes back to life or to start mourning the child. He said he chose none of the options but locked the boy inside the room and went for his ministration. On climbing the altar, he said Holy Ghost told him to just worship the God that gives life. By the time he got back to his room, he said the boy was already banging the door. Hallelujah!

It is a very simple logic, if you have ever seen a place where musicians start singing the praise of a man, you would notice that the man would almost clear his account just to say thank you for praising me. Same way when we thank God for things done, He is been moved into action to do much more. When we thank Him for things not yet done, He expedites the process of release of such desires.

A song says, “When praises go up, God’s blessings come down”. We are so focused on what He has not done that we lose on both ends. The truth is that you sleep and wake up alone is a great one to thank Him for, not to talk of the air you breathe, the grace to function well and all.

I urge you this moment to just take some minutes and thank God for all that He has done and for that which He is yet to do because you are sure He will do it at the right time. If at all you cannot find anything to thank Him for, thank Him for not allowing you to add to the inventory of the souls in the grave. Give Him praise you can talk, walk, read, and write and all. There is something to thank Him for.

HELP FROM ABOVE – 2

May 7, 2013

When help comes from the Lord for a man, everything created by God, I mean everything on planet earth would have no other option but to help the man. One of the help the man receives is favor in the sight of all.

When the children of Israel were about leaving the land of Egypt, God told them in Exodus 3:21-22 “And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty: But every woman shall borrow of her neighbor, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.”

Like I always tell people, you don’t have to love me to favor me or help me, as long as God ordains it from heaven that I should be helped, you aren’t got no other option. You just must do it. Listen to me, when your time of help comes, no man on earth can hinder it.

When it was time for Mordecai to be helped, a whole King could not sleep. Bible says in Est 6:1 “On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.”  When the time of help for a man comes, the spotlight comes on that man; he becomes the talk of town.  Decrees get changed, policies get amended and embargoes get lifted.

Of a truth, God is interested in helping us only if we put our entire trust in Him. If you read the stories mentioned in today’s devotional, you will realize that all concerned never had plan B, their entire plan was God, that’s why Jer 17:7-8 says “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.”

I pray that in the hands of anyone and everyone that your blessings and helps are, they become restless and sleepless until they do you good in Jesus Name. Amen!

HELP FROM ABOVE

May 6, 2013

After Pharaoh had allowed the children of Israel to depart Egypt, he changed his mind and decided to pursue them. When the children of Israel saw him and his armies coming, they became troubled and worried. Behind were Pharaoh and his men; in front was the Red Sea. By their right and left were thick forests that likely had wild animals in there. But because God is our present help in times of trouble, He arose to the occasion and rescued them. Your enemies shall be put to shame in Jesus Name.

The widow in 2Kings 4:1-6 was in a very big dilemma. Her husband a servant of the Lord had left her debts to pay. The creditors came to take her two children in exchange for the amount the husband owed. But when help came from above, not only did she pay the debts, she became a oil merchant. For every debtor, help is coming your way today in Jesus Name.

The widow of Zarephath thought the world had come to an end. She told the prophet, see this stuff in my hand, I just want to prepare something small for myself and my child after which we are prepared to die. The famine in the land was so sore. Because our God does not forsake, help came for the woman on time and she lived in abundance ever after.

Peter had toiled all night and caught nothing, but the moment HELP Himself stepped into his boat; fishes had to make themselves available for Peter to harvest. Maybe there was no single fish in that river that day, but because HELP was around, fishes from Africa, Asia, America and all had to rush down to be caught. Concerning that your business, God will send help and your income will multiply in thousand folds in Jesus Name.

In the name of Jesus, help is coming for you from above. Help is coming into that marriage. Help is coming concerning that proposal. Help is coming concerning that relationship. You are a candidate of help today in Jesus Name. Amen!

PRESENCE OF THE LORD

May 5, 2013
Isa 35:4-7 says “Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.”

Hallelujah! There is something glorious in stock for you. The presence of the Lord command miracles. Until God comes into a situation, the situation can never be good and glorious. The presence of the Lord in the boat of Peter drew fishes to his net. When the presence of the Lord is made manifest, glorious things happen.

One of the things that happen is divine healing. When Jesus was on earth, He was always going about healing people. When He departed to heaven and the Holy Spirit came down, healing did not stop. In the presence of the Lord, sickness can never be found.

Another thing that happens is that there will be spiritual awakening. You will be empowered to behold wondrous things out of the law of the Lord.  You will begin to see the truth about God. There will be an unimaginable manifestation of the presence of the Lord in the church, home and life of a believer.

Also, when the presence of the Lord is made manifest, abundance is inevitable. When others are saying that there is a casting down, you will be saying there is a lifting up. Others were saying that there was famine but because God was present with Isaac; he sowed in that same famine stricken land and reaped a hundred fold harvests.

The absence of the presence of God in the life of a believer is an invitation to shame, reproach and death. I pray today that God will never leave you nor forsake you in Jesus Name. Amen!

TOUCH NOT

May 4, 2013
Have you heard or seen parents that get very violent whenever any of their children is been beaten? I knew of a boy in my class in secondary school whose father was an ex military man. I discovered that this boy got a better treatment different from the way we were treated. During labor time, this boy would never be asked to do anything.  When I asked my classmates, I was made to understand that the father had beaten a teacher up for mere hitting the son on the head and since then, no one dare touch the boy.

1 Chron 16:21-22 says “He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes, Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.”

Our God is so interested in your well being that He is ready to punish anyone for your sake. Because of the children of Israel, Pharaoh the king of Egypt suffered greatly in the hands of the Lord. Because of David the king, Saul was greatly molested.

Gal 6:17 says “From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.” In order words, from henceforth, let no one touch me for harm or for evil sake.

We all quote this scripture yet pay little or no attention to the part that says “the anointed”. Anointing is what makes the difference and in this dispensation that we are, it is not until a gallon of oil is poured on you before been called “the anointed’, all that is needed is the anointing of the Holy Ghost.

With the anointing of the Holy Ghost upon a man, a wall of fire is been built around the man to block the entrance of evil occurrence into the life of that man. Sickness will be blocked off. Accident will be blocked away.

My prayer for you today is that you will encounter the Holy Ghost anew the enemy shall trouble you no more in Jesus Name. Amen!

SINGLED OUT

May 3, 2013

To be singled out means to be separated for glory. It means there are others, but you are just been chosen over them, not because you are better than them, but because God just decided to single you out.

Luke 4: 25-27 says “But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land; But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow. And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.”

Rom 9:15 says “For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” So basically, we all need to understand that to be singled out for favor, healing or lifting is not a product of your righteousness, but a product of mercy. That’s why that man said, if the Lord does not build the house, the builders build in vain.

Friends, when you are singled out, you labor less. You struggle less. All things begin to work together for your good. You begin to achieve things with uncommon ease. Was Mary the only virgin in that land? NO! Was she the only Mary betrothed to a man named Joseph? Maybe NO! But God singled Mary out to be the mother of our savior.

God doesn’t single out for no reason. He singles you out for honor. He singled David out of the sons of Jesse just to lift him up. That is why He is called the lifter up of your head. When He singles you out, you become everyone’s favorite. Your product becomes a must use for all. You become a voice to be heard in the land. Your store becomes the only store to buy things.

My prayer today is that anywhere you are found, God will single you out for favor unimaginable in Jesus Name. Amen!

LET GO AND LET GOD

May 2, 2013

I want to share a poem with you. The author is unknown as many people claim to have written it.

“As children bring their broken toys with tears for us to mend, I brought my broken dreams to God because He was my friend. But then instead of leaving Him, in peace, to work alone; I hung around and tried to help, with ways that were my own. As last, I snatched it back and cried, “How can you be so slow?” “My child” He answered, “What could I do, you never did let go.”

One of the hardest things to do is letting go of things. It is not only the good things that we seem to have a hard time letting go, even the bad things as well. The fact is that the things that affect our lives so greatly stick with us; it is what we do with them that makes the difference.

1Pe 5:7 says “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” Mat 6:27 says “Which of you by worrying can add one cubit unto his stature?” Let go of the pain, He will turn it to gain for you. Of a truth, that which is in your hand is small compared to what is in His hands, so why not just let go.

I have come to see that the reason why we find it so difficult to let go and let God is we are good “worriers”. Some of us are good at creating worst-case scenarios. However, we have refused to understand that if we do not let go of what is in our hands or minds, God will not let go of what is in His hands or mind for us. We are very good at worrying.

We all think of insecurity as the product of letting go. Live your life without worry (kind of difficult, but highly rewarding). Letting go and letting God is an act of total reliance on God’s ability and since God can never fail, you are rest assured that you will never be put to shame.

My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will reveal unto you everything and anything holding you back from becoming who you have been created to be and the power and grace to let go of such things is released upon you in Jesus Name. Amen!
