BE FRUITFUL

March 15, 2013

Fruitfulness is the ability to produce fruit. It could also mean conducive to productivity; causing to bear in abundance. It could also mean producing results; profitable, fertile etc.

A fruitful woman is the woman that can bear children. A fruitful business is that business that brings in profit. A fruitful career is a career that progresses on a regular basis. It is God’s plan for us from creation to be fruitful. Gen 1:28 says and God said to them “Be fruitful..”

That is why God says in 3 John 1:2 that “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper (as in be fruitful).” God is delighted when you bring in fruit. He said that none shall be barren in the land. It is never the joy of a farmer to see his cocoa tree yielding no fruit. God said that if He could feed the birds of the sky and even make the grass of the field fruitful, how much more you.

Isaac was a fruitful man. Despite the condition of the land, he never lacked. Joseph was a fruitful man, despite the seven years of famine; he never knew hunger or lack.

You should not be begging before you eat or spend money. You are not a candidate for reproach. Your business should not be suffering stagnation. Your home should be fruitful. However, there is what to do. Fruitfulness answers to principle.

Psalms 1:1-3 explains this clearly. The man that would be fruitful must delight himself and meditate day and night in the law of the Lord. No wonder the Bible says that this book of the law shall not depart from thy mouth, thou shall meditate therein day and night, after which you are permitted to be fruitful.

Moses was a fruitful man, everywhere he got to, he was always having great results.

Henceforth, heaven will anoint you with the oil of fruitfulness in Jesus Name. Amen!

ABSOLUTE TRUST IN GOD

March 14, 2013

In the book of Daniels chapter 3, the three Hebrew boys kept saying “Our God will deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and even if He doesn’t deliver us, O king, we will not serve your god nor will we worship the golden image which you have set up.” This got the king very angry that he commanded they be thrown into the fiery furnace immediately.

The fire was so hot, it killed the men that threw them in but nothing happened to these three boys. Their trust in God was so absolute. They trusted in God in they were delivered. From that day, it became a law that the God of Shadrack, Meshach and Abednego should be the only honored God of the land.

They that put their trust in God shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water. Jer 17:5 says that cursed is the man that put his trust in man. In order to experience God in a mighty way, you must be able to trust God and God alone absolutely, come rain, and come shine. You should get to that point where you can say, if God won’t do it, let it not be done.

Some of us trust humans more than we trust God. We find it is so easy to believe what a man says than for us to believe the word of God.

The same way you trust that your chair in the office or at home won’t fall you, that’s the same way you should trust that your God wont fail you. Psalm 34:5 says that those who look unto God for help shall be radiant with joy.

God is your one and only solution. No other help elsewhere. God cannot fail you. He has never failed before and He CAN never fail. He is the only one that deserves your absolute trust.

IN ALL THINGS GIVE THANKS

March 13, 2013

Years ago, when I was in school, my pastor shared a testimony with us. Few months after getting married, he became sexually impotent. I am sure that must have been the darkest moment of his life. He was always visiting the doctor almost every hour, all to no avail. He prayed, fasted and did all sorts, but nothing happened. Despite this, he was still the same person to climb the altar and tell the congregation that “There is nothing God cannot do.”

After about one whole month, during a praise night, he noticed that the local drum beater was not around, so he quickly doubled as a pastor and drummer. He was playing the drums with all in him, he was praising God along with the church forgetting his woe when suddenly he noticed that something moved under his pant. By the time he went outside to check, his potency has been restored.

1Thessalonians 5:18 says “In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Thankfulness is not something you do when all is well; it should be a daily habit. We are to give thanks whether there is food to eat or not. We are to give thanks not in some areas, not for the wonderful and great things, but in all things (all as in all – good or bad).

I know it is very difficult to thank God when something bad just happened, but doing it is obeying God. Maybe your car just got involved in an accident; well you can be thankful you did not die. Maybe you just lost a small baby, you can be thankful you are not a barren. Maybe you just lost a job, why not thank God you even had one.

How can you be thankful in the midst of hurt and disappointment? Friends, I want you to know today that “all things work together for good to them that love God..”

No matter your lot, give thanks. No matter what happens to you in life, give thanks. As believers, we have a mandate to always thank God for everything.

May the grace to be able to be an addicted “thanker” be given to you in Jesus Name. Amen!

FIND YOUR WINGS

March 12, 2013

There is a popular story of a boy that found an eagle’s egg and put it in the nest of a chicken. The eagle hatched and thought that he was a chicken. He grew up doing what the chickens do – scattering the dirt for food and flying short distances with a noisy fluttering of wings. It was a dreary life.

The eagle saw that he was different from the chicken but could not explain why he was in their midst doing what they do. He grew older and bitter. One day he and his chicken family folks went out and saw a beautiful bird soaring on the currents of the air and dancing in the sky high above the mountains.

“Oh, I wish I could fly like that!” said the eagle. The chicken replied, “Don’t give it another thought. That’s the mighty eagle, the king of all birds – you could never be like him, you are an ordinary chicken!” The eagle gave it no more thought from that moment and went on cackling and complaining about life. The eagle died thinking he was a chicken.

We all have many gifts that we have never opened. It’s time to open some of your wings. There is more inside of you than you dare think. You are not here by mistake. God intentionally created you a man/woman, He purposely created you a citizen of that nation because you were born into this world to do something unique and something distinctive, and if you refuse to do it, it may never be done.

The easiest way to make it in life is to find your niche. Bible says that the gift of a man makes way for him and brings him before kings and not before ordinary men. That means for you to come before people that matter, you must first find your wings. Without wings, an eagle cannot fly.

You have so much exciting qualities, so stop thinking others are better than you. You are in no way an inferior product. Just stretch your mind and fly. Discover yourself.

I pray that your gifts shall take you to greater heights in life in Jesus Name. Amen!

LET GOD ARISE

March 9, 2013

In Psalm 68:1, the psalmist said “Let God arise, Let his enemies be scattered; Let all those who hate him flee before him.” Our God is the supreme ruler of the world. He cannot fail and cannot be defeated.

God arose for the Israelites and delivered them from the hands of the Egyptians. When God arises for a man, He gives the man strength and strategies to overcome his enemies. When God arise, change happens.

There is a story in the Bible when the disciples were traveling in the boat with Master Jesus. We were told that Jesus got tired and slept off. Suddenly a great storm broke over the boat and it nearly drowned it. The disciples were scared. They looked at Jesus and saw that he was asleep despite the storm. They woke him up angrily and guessed they screamed “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”

The Bible says and Jesus arose, rebuked the storm by saying “Peace, be still!” That same moment, the wind stopped and the storm ceased.

It doesn’t matter how tough your situations are, it does not matter how terrible your journey in life is going, irrespective of how great the storm of your life is, the moment God arises, be rest assured you are safe and secured.

God arose for David and he conquered Saul. God arose for the widow of Zarephath and sorted her case. God arose for Mordecai and made Haman to be hanged in his stead.

For someone, I see God arising for you in Jesus Name. God will grant you victory over every enemies of your life in Jesus Name. Into that troubled home, I say Jesus shall arise in your home and peace be still in Jesus Name.

Remember, God will arise for His own people, are you God’s property?

PREPARE FOR RAIN

March 10, 2013

There is a tale of two farmers who desperately needed rain. It was already planting season, yet no single rain had fallen. They both went to God to ask for rain. Farmer 1 started waking up very early each day to monitor the sky in expectation of rain. He had a plan to cultivate the land and plant the moment it rained.

Farmer 2 had a different approach. The moment he finished asking God for the rain, he hired laborers to cultivate the land and even went ahead to plant. On the day he finished planting, the rain came.

That man told the coach in the movie Facing The Giants “God will send the rain, but you need to prepare to receive it.” God will bless you, but you need to prepare to receive it.  That’s where faith comes in. It helps in preparing to receive one’s expectation(s).

Honestly, God is so much interested in your well being, but you have to do your part for God to do His. Peter had to throw the net before catching such number of fishes. Had he continued to complain to Jesus about how he has been toiling all night without catching anything, he would still have caught nothing.

Some of us are experiencing the opposite of our desires because our actions are in opposite direction of our desires. Some of us are like a man expecting a very important phone call and then decides to switch off his cell phone. He sure is not ready for the call.

To show you are prepared for rain, you need to go out with an umbrella. To prove you are prepared to receive from God, you must act in the direction of your desire. You must be patient enough to trust God even if your desire is not showing forth as at when expected. God can never be late – know that!

Rain is coming. Abundance is around the corner. Relief is a few yards away. Deliverance is just some few minutes away. Breakthrough is about to happen.

I pray that every trace(s) of drought in your life will disappear from this moment in Jesus Name. Amen!

TALENTS AND PURPOSE

March 11, 2013

At one point or the other, some of us have been faced with the challenge of knowing exactly what we have been called to do in life. What is my purpose on earth, we ask. What has God called me to do? God answers these questions through our natural abilities.

God leads us to our place of purpose through the gifts and talents He has bestowed upon us. If you are not sure of your purpose, just do what you are naturally good at doing and then watch God confirm you by blessing you. Don’t waste your time trying to do what you are not gifted to do; it will lead to frustration and disgrace.

There is so much pleasure in doing what we are naturally good at doing. You will enjoy it. Don Moen loves singing. He enjoys travelling around and ministering unto lives through his songs, because he is doing what he is naturally endowed to do.

God wants to speak to the world and He would do that through your talents and gifts. This is where it becomes dangerous to imitate or try to become someone else. Doing what you have gifted to do is always easy. It is easier for Ron Kenoly to sing than dance.

Grace is always made available to that man operating in his natural habitat. He gives us peace and joy to let us know we are fulfilling His perfect plan. If you attempt doing that which you have not been gifted to do, you will become miserable. If we work at doing what we hate to do, we won’t be good at it, and we won’t glorify God with our lives.

God came to give us abundant and a wonderful life not a miserable one (John 10:10). Our jobs is to discover our natural habitat and start growing it. We don’t have enough years on earth to be miserable working at the wrong assignments. Ultimately, God will require an account of your service here on earth when we get to heaven. Abiding in your area of natural endowment makes you a useful vessel.

You shall not be useless in Jesus Name. Amen!

MIND MAKE OVERS

March 8, 2013

These days, before some women go for parties, they would spend some amount of money in or order to look good. They would pay someone else to tie their head gears, make their faces look finer and all of that. They call it make over.

Men also are not left out; some of us can never let the hair on our head stay for more than one week without visiting the salon to either trim, blend, shape, die, or do one thing or the other to the hair. We just want to look good. We just want to look presentable.

Do you know that the beauty of your life is a product of the beauty of your mind? A renewed mind translates to a renewed and transformed and beautiful life.

Luke 6:45 says that the goodness of your heart determines the goodness of your life. Out of your mind flows the result of your life.

I love that scripture that says be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. This goes to say that transformation is a choice. The primary battle ground is the mind.

Bible says that as a man thinks, so is he. It takes only a man with a renewed mind to think positive thoughts. Most of us have allowed fear to build a castle in our mind because we have refused to take care of our minds.

I tell you, there is no mountain that you can’t climb over; there is no storm you can’t go through; there is nothing called impossible; it starts from your mind. Gut out all those negative thoughts. Spill out the old way of thinking.

Renew your mind by daily studying the word of God and regularly ingesting His words.

As you take steps to make over your mind, I pray your life will receive a total make over in Jesus Name. Amen!

PERCEPTION

March 7, 2013

There is a tale about these two shoe salesmen who travel to a third world country in search of new business opportunities.

The first man calls his wife the moment he lands, telling her, “Honey, I’m coming back home. There’s no hope here. Nobody here is wearing shoes, so there’s no one to sell to. It has been a shear waste of my time coming down here.” He boards the next flight home.

On landing at the airport, the second man calls his wife and says, “Honey, you wouldn’t believe what I found here. There is so much opportunity. No one here is wearing shoes. I can sell to the whole country! Get prepared for immediate relocation.”

How do you see things? Do you see opportunities in every trouble or you see otherwise? When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at will change.

There’s opportunity everywhere. It all starts with that opening in the mind. Rom 12:2 says “..be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind..” Elisha’s servant in 2Kings 16 saw the enemies, while Elisha saw the host of heaven ready to fight for him.

There is always a way out, always! It’s all about the way we choose to see things. Keep an optimistic mindset and you will live a beautiful life. King David could have decided not to even volunteer to fight Goliath, but because he saw that Goliath was nobody compared the person inside of him. That was only possible because he had the right mind.

In very challenge there are enormous opportunities for unprecedented success: the darker the night the brighter the light.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will make you see wonderful opportunities for greatness and breakthrough in any challenging situation in Jesus Name. Amen!

GODLY WISDOM

Wisdom is defined as insight; the ability to discern or judge what is true or right. It is the ability to see things from a perspective that many others don’t see.

We all know the popular story in 1Kings 3 when God asked King Solomon what he most wanted: wealth, prestige and power. What an open check? Of all the earthly things to ask for, he chose wisdom. No wonder he said in Prov 4:7 that Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Godly wisdom leads to order and understanding (James 3:17).

Godly wisdom helps in living in a way that pleases God. If Solomon had asked for earthly things, God would have given him, but am so sure he would have mismanaged them which is why he said in Prov 16:16 that How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

Godly wisdom upon Jesus made people that listened to him in the Synagogue in Mark 6: 2 say “what wisdom is this?” Our society has made us believe that the vocal guy is wiser. The bible says in Prov 17:28 that a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding because in the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

Godly wisdom helps determine when to talk and when to keep quiet. It helps in making the right choice as to everything and anything. It lifts and promotes. It brings honor and respect.

Jonah operated in the wisdom of the world and ended up in the belly of a fish while King Solomon chose Godly wisdom and as result became the greatest king that ever lived.

To be wise, fear God and ask for wisdom from above.

As you do, you will begin to operate with the wisdom of God in Jesus Name. Amen!

WHY SIT HERE UNTIL WE DIE

In the books of 2Kings 6, there was a great famine in Samaria that things were so expensive and even scarce. Mothers started eating their children as food. The situation of the land was pathetic.

In chapter 7 vs. 3, there were four lepers who were sitting at the border gate. They were looking at another country – Syria; who had it going well for them, but for them, whether they remained at the entrance of Samaria or went into the city, they were going to die. The Syrians were no good friend of the Samarians, so going to Syria also would be a suicide mission for them.

However, they did not want to die without making any attempt. They were not just talkers, they were doers. Their case could be likened to that of Esther in Est 4:16 when she said “If I perish, I perish.”

These men finally took that risk to enter Syria and as God would have it, there was no man in Syria as they have all fled because the Lord made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host. They went into their tents; ate, drink and even took gold and silver and raiment.

Friends, some of us are not happy with where we are; some have been running rat races all these while; some have been on the same spot for years all because of fear of the unknown. The truth is this; it is very risky not to take risks.

God is not interested in seeing you go through pains. God is not interested in you not fulfilling destiny, but you have to take charge. If the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, how much more the kingdom of earth?

Step out of your comfort zone. You are not permitted to remain on the same spot for years, move! Change position! Don’t just sit down waiting for something to happen, make it happen.

You shall not die without fulfilling destiny in Jesus Name. Amen!
