WHY SIT HERE UNTIL WE DIE

In the books of 2Kings 6, there was a great famine in Samaria that things were so expensive and even scarce. Mothers started eating their children as food. The situation of the land was pathetic.

In chapter 7 vs. 3, there were four lepers who were sitting at the border gate. They were looking at another country – Syria; who had it going well for them, but for them, whether they remained at the entrance of Samaria or went into the city, they were going to die. The Syrians were no good friend of the Samarians, so going to Syria also would be a suicide mission for them.

However, they did not want to die without making any attempt. They were not just talkers, they were doers. Their case could be likened to that of Esther in Est 4:16 when she said “If I perish, I perish.”

These men finally took that risk to enter Syria and as God would have it, there was no man in Syria as they have all fled because the Lord made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host. They went into their tents; ate, drink and even took gold and silver and raiment.

Friends, some of us are not happy with where we are; some have been running rat races all these while; some have been on the same spot for years all because of fear of the unknown. The truth is this; it is very risky not to take risks.

God is not interested in seeing you go through pains. God is not interested in you not fulfilling destiny, but you have to take charge. If the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, how much more the kingdom of earth?

Step out of your comfort zone. You are not permitted to remain on the same spot for years, move! Change position! Don’t just sit down waiting for something to happen, make it happen.

You shall not die without fulfilling destiny in Jesus Name. Amen!

THE GOD OF ALL POSSIBILITIES

In the book of Genesis chapter 18,  a message (prophecy-like) came unto Sarah that she was going to have a son.  Sarah was Ninety (90) years old as at the time this word came. Medically, she was way past menopause. Sarah could not help but to laugh (scornfully am sure of).

Medically and humanly, it was very impossible for her to give birth at that age, but when the God of all possibilities was ready to explain to Sarah that it was menopause and not menostop, he menoplayed  it and the old woman gave birth to a bouncing baby boy.

In the book of 2Kings 7, a prophecy came through Elisha that by this tomorrow a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria. To understand it very well, it is like saying that by this time tomorrow, a bag of rice would be sold for 500 naira, a bag of cement for 100 naira and so on.

It sounded nice but looked impossible. Samaria Finance Minister could not stomach his feeling and had to say, Prophet Elisha or what are you called, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? He had analyzed the entire economic situation of that land and had all his figures which made the prophecy sounded like fallacy to him.

However, when the God of all possibilities was ready to show Himself mighty, He did not have to make windows out of heaven before making possible that prophecy, He used lepers to bring it to pass.

Friends, God is able to fulfill every promise He has made to you. Just believe.

I pray that everything that seemed impossible for you today shall be made possible in Jesus Name. Amen!

DISOBEDIENCE

Disobedience is any choice contrary to what God Has instructed.

I heard of the testimony of a certain woman whom the Lord was asking to do something. This woman refused totally and would not heed God’s instruction. She said her excuse was always “my children ooo.” She said her disobedience made her lose two of her four children.

Jonah was instructed by God to go to Nineveh, but he ran to Joppa instead.  Bible says he fled from the Lord. He was like Adam that went to hide from God after disobeying Him.

Disobedient people are never free. Disobedience is a very grave and deadly offence. Disobedience caused the fall of man. Disobedience got Adam and Eve kicked out of the Garden of Eden.

Disobedience brings hardship and curses. It takes away God’s promises for our lives. If you are fond of disobeying your parent, Prov 30:17 says if you despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it. Disobedience leaves in a state of destitution.

Disobedience to God provokes His anger. The story of Pharaoh, Nadab, Saul and even Israel shows clearly that God does not like disobedience. Isa 1:19 says If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land. In order words, if ye be unwilling and disobedient, you shall eat the bad of the land.

To obey most times is tight, but it is always right. To obey is the solution to disobedience. Rom 5: 19 says For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Obedience is an act of faith; disobedience is the result of unbelief. Every heart that disobeys God and authority be replaced with obedient heart in Jesus Name. Amen!

GOD WILL MAKE A WAY

When I secured admission into the higher institution, it was difficult paying tuition. All effort to get the amount needed proved abortive. No one had money (naturally, humans prefer loaning you to do burial than to pay for school tuition). I searched everywhere but nothing came forth.

Exam was fast approaching and yet, tuition has not been paid. I missed the first paper which led to an automatic carry over for me. At that point, I went to THE WAY, to ask for a way out. Within 24 hours of asking God to intervene, tuition came forth and extra cash.

In the book of Exodus 14, the children of Israel were entangled in the land and the wilderness had shut them in, the sea was not also making matters any funny. But because they were connected to THE WAY, He made a way for them by parting the sea and making them walk on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

Isa 43:19 says Behold, I (GOD) will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Maybe you are in a wilderness-like or desert-like situation? perhaps, you feel all means of escape is gone. The truth of the matter is that, there will always be a way out for you.

When the axe head fell into the water, those guys were dejected. The axe wasn’t theirs to start with. But when THE WAY was ready to do His job, He caused a stick to work as a magnet. Maybe the amount of debt you owe is overwhelming; God will make a way of paying all for you in Jesus Name.

You were not created to beg. You were not made to suffer. Kings don’t beg, they decree. You can never be stucked, you can never be stranded. You can never run out of help. No matter where you find yourself, God can still make a way of escape for you. He made a way for Daniel even in the lion’s den.

I pray that God will make a way for you all the days of your life in Jesus Name. Amen!
